England failed to reach 200. Do you think that is t is overated? A lot of talk about how guys like Wiley, Jordan, Plunkett and Rashid have centuries. I f India win today its because England failed to reach 200. Last 10 overs only got them 88 runs. England has a devastating top 6 but is their lower order strong?

In LOI's it is destructive, think they all have first-class centuries.

I think Pakistan

T20is:
Shadab
Faheem
Imad
Hassan (Hitter, has 50 in odi against NZ)
Amir (Has 2 50's in odis against ENG and other team I think NZ)

ODIs:
Shadab
Imad/ Faheem
Amir
Hassan
Usman (The only one who can't bat).

But if u ask depth based in HITTING, then it's England hands down!

None of them are that great tbh. It's England's top 7 which puts up the runs. And the fact that potentially Stokes is the strongest no.7 (or allows them to play a proper bat at 7).

Their lower order only looks the best when they have Moeen at 8, given he's a batsman. However if they're looking to play a better spinner, than Moeen plays up the order anyway/is dropped.

If we got a proper batsman at 7 instead of Faheem, our lower order would arguably be one of the strongest, shadab's a good no.8, Hasan, Amir can bat. But given the rest of the teams are playing a proper bat at 7, or someone who performs with the bat comparable to the top 6, our lower order is kinda weak, the tail starts earlier.

Not sure who has the strongest lower order. Most teams just pack their 1-7, and have a no.8 that can bat. The rest aren't really counted on with the bat, nor often do they even bat.

Yes. Willey bats at 8/9 and he’s got some scintillating domestic hundreds as opener. That should say something. Plunkett can hit the ball really hard too.

Its more challenging against them in ODIs as witnessed recently by Australia and earlier by Pakistan. The strong lower order gives freedom to the top order to just keep hitting.

Ali, Willey, Woakes, Rashid and Plunkett - The best lower order in the history of ODI cricket?

I have never seen such a strong lower order. Yes they might not perform everyday but on paper are they the strongest ever in ODI history. Rashid at 10 with ten first class hundreds and plunkett has 3 first class hundreds. Wiley ( who opens in English Domestic) and Woakes are proper batsmen while Ali is a decent bat too.

I am presuming once Woakes his fit, he would replace Wood

define best.

what makes a lower order as the "best"?

Ha, ODI history?
Were you born when South Africa were at their best under Hansie Cronje? They used to bat all the way down to number 10.

England lower order was strong for long time now. Even during Andy Flower time it was deep.
