Does the contest for a place in the team lead players to hope for their competitors' failure?

I don't know why but I have a feeling Babar and Rizwan are praying for the Pak team's downfall after getting kicked out.

Rizwan may or may not be praying for Haris's downfall in reality but I personally feel it might be the former.

Is Jaiswal not jealous and envious of Gill for taking his spot and in process Jaiswal's chance for more fame and money?

In day to day life outside cricket we all know what the answer would be in such circumstances but cricketing world is different with the presence Coaches, Money, Therapists, Psychologists, a good head over their shoulders for most, and confidence just from getting to the top level to begin with.

This is not to be confused with competing with one another and competition which is a different topic.

I've read stories of Waqar and Wasim hating each other's guts at one point but I believe that may have more to do with hunger to top the other?

Are players more envious, hateful, jealous, and resentful of one another than fans would like to imagine? Have their been stories of such behavior from players in the past?

Rizwan on many occasions left the gloves for Harris to keep, and Harris really respects Rizwan.

They are human beings, there is bound to be jealousy at some point.
But unless we interview them directly and take a lie detector test or put them under hypnosis we won't know how much or with who.

Fans will come up with long stories to claim the players they dislike are jealous, and the players they like are saints.

I think it happens more than we think it does. Players have to be selfish and strategic to an extent. I doubt Jimmy Anderson, for instance, shared all his bowling tricks and tips with his fellow Eng bowlers lest he got replaced given his age. Or am I being cynical here ?

That was before Harris possibly ended up becoming the reason for Rizwan being kicked out altogether?
Naa, even during rameez raja days this was going on. Everyone knew haris eould be rizwans replacement if he was to go out of form or be injured

Rizwan through a hissy fit in NZ when Saim was being drafted into the team and breaking the opening pair between him and Babar

There have been dressing room leaks of Rizwan sniggering at the time when Saim was being praised by some of the management.
