The National T20 Cup 2024/25 has been a showcase of firepower and emerging talent, with Sahibzada Farhan (Peshawar) dominating the batting charts—racking up 605 runs at a staggering SR of 189+, including a blistering 162 (72 balls)* and 40 sixes. Meanwhile, Hasan Ali (Sialkot) led the bowling with 13 wickets, supported by Maaz Khan’s tournament-best figures of 4/11. Youngsters like Mirza Baig (Sialkot, 2 fifties) and Arafat Minhas (economy 6.2) have also shone, but concerns linger over middle-order collapses and death-overs consistency.

But does the level of competition and individual brilliance translate into a brighter future for Pakistan’s national T20 team? With the 2026 T20 World Cup in sight, are we seeing the next generation of match-winners, or is there still a gap in consistency and skill?

Well the tournament was a perfect time pass for players and fans in the Holy month of Ramadan. Advance Eid Mubarak , thats it this tournament has no relevance

I think Pakistan has to address the pitch issue. Even 1 inch extra bounce an make a lot of difference. But Pakistan pitches have the lowest bounce. Not sure what soil they use. Also pace is shockingly low. It makes ordinary players better than they are. Having a slightly bouncy pitch also allows bowlers to develop. Both spinners and pacers.

PCB hosts its domestic cricket with the cutting corners mindset i.e all the domestic teams play on the same venue, same pitch day in day out and naturally pitches go through drastic deterioration, wear and tear. Ideally speaking every game should be played on a different venue but the PCB wants to minimize logistics, costs of travelling.

This tournament should be the criteria for PSL selection and should be played before PSL draft

From what I saw i liked Salman the Lahore fast bowler, looked to be quite sharp and should be in the frame for PK honours in the near future, I liked Saad Ali, look very good but needs more work on Strike rotation, l liked the look of Sultan fron Karachi from a very small sample

Mid tier level talent and nothing international ready talent however some guys do glimpse hope to become good international player in future ONLY if they keep improving.
