So Khurram Manzoor and Sohaib Maqsood, Ahmed Shehzad (no surprise though) have been found out again so far (again). Lets see if they give Shan a chance and if he will be found out again.

Although Hussain Talat did well.

From the bowling side, Umaid did well too.

Who in your opinion is a domestic bully and will be found and and who will actually perform this PSL.

Manzoor has never really performed in T20s on a consistent basis. He has done very well in the 50 over format, but he is a complete flat track bully. A total duck against the slightest lateral movement or quality spin.

However, I think he should be given a chance in ODIs. He cannot do worse than Azhar, and might be able to provide some brisk starts alongside Fakhar. A good short-term investment IMO.

Mamoon I think we should try Nawaz as opener. Farhan is also good

Farhan is probably going to be exposed also. As is always the case with wild sloggers/PP darlings. :babar

Maybe worth a try. An internal solution is always better. Both are already part of the squad and will open up another slot.

Did you watch it blindfolded?

The poster I was replying to was saying that Farhan will fail and I think he won't fail.
He said that PP darlings always fail and I replied that they don't giving Talat as an examle.

1 match will not dictate who is a failure and who is not. We just have to wait it out. I do want Hussain Talat to succeed but I've never supported flashy sloggers myself.

Sohaib is such a rubbish player..can't believe PPers wanted him back would rather play hafeez if his replacements are likes of maqsood, manzoor , iftikhar, akmals

Disappointed by Maqsood's performance so far. Here was his chance to cement his place in the national team and he is failing with flying colors at the moment.

Just like Fakhar was a slogger?

Fakhar is actually more of a slogger than Farhan, he plays some very unorthodox shots that can be classified as slogs, specially against spin; but he gets so much momentum into the strokes that he can hit them for six without even being completely to the pitch of the ball. Fakhar's temperament is top-drawer though, far better than a lot of other Pakistani batsmen. :maqsood :uakmal

Farhan isn't really a slogger, he plays conventional shots but there are some issues including the lack of footwork, plus his strike rotation doesn't seem that good. Still a lot of upside to work with.

What I meant was that Abdul was dismissing Farhan as a slogger just like people were writing off Fakhar as a hack and slogger last year but we all saw what he did.

Agreed, he has issues but he also seems to have a knack of scoring runs. Deserves a chance based on merit and can only improve in the national setup.

Honestly, it's worrying how poor Pakistani batsmen have performed so far. The ones that do score runs here and there (Hafeez, Kamran) are proven failures in international level. There is nothing wrong with the pitches, yet looking at the scorecard one would think they are batting on extremely difficult pitches. No wonder we got destroyed in NZ. Azhar, babar, Malik...our so called best batsmen were humiliated in NZ. As professional cricketers and CT winners it must have been embarrassing. Unfortunately, Pakistani batsmen are incompetent.

Khurum Manzoor is terrible batsman, he does not have technique nor temperament to play at international level. He is an opener, but cannot play quality seamers at all, little bit of movement or bounce, he behaves like tailunder. I would not invest in guy like him.

I would look for Farhan or somebody else for opener role. I am hoping Farhan has couple of good innings early in PSL, that would raise his confidence

Unfortunately there is not a single Pakistani batsman that looks like international class or even have potential to be one... Existing seniors are also dud as they have been in all those years. Pakistani batting stock is shameful. They have neither power game nor technique or temperament, they cannot do defense either, even handling international class spinner is hard for them. What else is left?

There is a touch about Lara in some of his stroke play. His sixes on the offside were a treat to watch.

Shehzad
Khurram Manzoor
Iftikhar
Maqsood

But sadly only Islamabad has some open vacancies in the top 6, which can allow others to replace them. Talat got a chance to perform yesterday. Maybe Farhan will get another chance and prove himself this time.

Saad & Saud won't get such a chance due to Shafiq and Badar will always get last 2 overs to showcase his talent, where he would have to just slog his way out and hope he gets noticed.

Hussain stood up. It's good the hacks are being found out, better than seeing them perform here then do a Professor on the international stage. The good talent will show itself, like Shadab did, like Fahim and Hussain Talat are doing.

If Shehzad and Maqsood fail in next few matches then Abdullah Shafique can get a chance.

Maqsood is one of the most mediocre players I have ever seen

Its a mystery how time and again he comes up in the discussion

“Cement his place” !! He needs to get in first.. another TTF.. mind u would love it if proven wrong.. but..
