Given his recent false claims to have ended seven wars already, Donald Trump's latest promise to soon end the war in Gaza will be taken with a generous pinch of salt by most observers.

"We have a real chance for GREATNESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST. ALL ARE ON BOARD FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL, FIRST TIME EVER. WE WILL GET IT DONE!!!" the US president wrote on his Truth Social platform on Sunday.

Trump was referring to his 21-point plan, details of which emerged over the weekend, ahead of his White House meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday — the pair's fourth meeting this year. But what exactly does this plan entail?

What are the key points of Trump's 21-point plan?
Crucially, it creates a pathway to a Palestinian state, something consistently and vehemently opposed by Israel, and a future road map for Gaza. The plan — seen by several media outlets — demands the release of the 20 living hostages remaining in Gaza and a number of those already deceased, in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinians being held in Israel. This should happen within 48 hours of an agreement being struck.

"Once all the hostages have been released, Israel will release 250 prisoners serving life sentences plus 1,700 Gazans detained after October 7. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans," the Washington Post reported.

The plan also demands the removal of Hamas — recognized as a terrorist organization by the German government, the EU, the US and some Arab states — from power and a commitment from it to disarm, reform of the Palestinian Authority (PA) and a promise from Israel not to launch further attacks on Qatar, which has attempted to act as a mediating force in the conflict.

Other points include: Gaza receiving an economic plan for growth, a security guarantee for Gaza enforced by the US and regional powers, and the chance for people who have left the area to return, while no one currently in Gaza will be forced to leave. Under the plan, Gaza would initially be run by a transitional government with former Hamas members either to stay and commit to the new plan or be allowed safe passage to other, seemingly unnamed, countries.

In addition, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) must halt all operations immediately upon an agreement and hand over any captured territories. Israel must also promise not to occupy or annex Gaza. A Commission of Inquiry under the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) found earlier this month that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians.

There are also planned guarantees about aid from international agencies being able to reach Gaza unimpeded by either side, though there is no mention of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is backed by Israel and the US.

How did the 21-point plan come about?
US envoy Steve Witkoff said on September 23 that Trump had floated the plan in a meeting on that day with leaders from Arab and Muslim countries (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan) at the United Nations. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was not allowed to attend the UN General Assembly, where the sideline meeting took place, after the US government denied him a visa.

Those nations involved in the meeting said they "reiterated their commitment to cooperate with President Trump, and stressed the importance of his leadership to end the war" in a joint statement.

The plan was reportedly aided by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, run by the former UK prime minister. Some reports suggest that Blair — who is far from universally popular in the Middle East because of his support for the 2003 US invasion of Iraq — will serve as head of the Gaza International Transitional Authority under the plan. GITA could be in control for several years until the Palestinian Authority is evaluated as having met the necessary conditions.

The plan comes in the wake of a growing number of Western nations, such as the United Kingdom, France and Canada, recognizing the Palestinian state. Netanyahu has labeled this a "disgraceful decision."

What have Israel and Hamas said about the 21-point plan so far?
While Trump has been typically bullish about his plan, Netanyahu has been more circumspect, though not dismissive. "We're working on it," he told Fox News on Sunday. "It's not been finalized yet, but we're working with President Trump's team, actually, as we speak."

An unnamed Hamas official told the news agency Reuters on Friday that Hamas had not been presented with the plan. The organization then released a statement on Sunday: "Hamas is ready to positively and responsibly consider any proposal that arrives from the mediators, provided that such a proposal protects the national rights of the Palestinians."

In a further suggestion of the difficulties Netanyahu will face, even if he does support the plan, Israel's far-right finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, outlined a series of "red lines" on X on Monday. He wrote that Israel's security relied on "actions, our hold on the land, and uncompromising enforcement that depends solely on the (Israeli military) and our defence establishment." He also rejected any involvement from the PA, which governed Gaza until Hamas seized power in 2007.

Momentum grows for Gaza ceasefire as Netanyahu faces global isolation and backlash

Sultan Barakat, a professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar, says there is momentum for a ceasefire now in Gaza with Netanyahu more isolated than ever.

“This time is different because the situation has simply boiled over and now for the first time, we have a world that is united, wanting Netanyahu to stop the war,” Barakat told Al Jazeera, adding that the Israeli PM has further isolated himself with the bombing of Qatar and his speech at the UN General Assembly.

“The way he disregards everyone else’s viewpoint has really backfired,” Barakat said.

Also, the response of Arab and Muslim leaders to the attack on the Hamas delegation in Doha and the recognition of Palestinian statehood by a number of Western nations have contributed to shifting Trump’s stance on Israel, he added.

Trump secures Netanyahu's agreement to Gaza deal but Hamas support in question

President Donald Trump secured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's backing on Monday for a U.S.-sponsored peace proposal to end a nearly two-year-old war in Gaza, but questions loomed over whether Hamas would accept the plan.

Speaking at a joint White House press conference following a meeting with Netanyahu, Trump said they were "beyond very close" to an elusive peace deal for the Palestinian enclave. But he warned the Islamist group Hamas that Israel would have full U.S. support to take whatever action it deemed necessary if the militants reject what he has offered.

The White House released a 20-point document that called for an immediate ceasefire, an exchange of hostages held by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, a staged Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, Hamas disarmament and a transitional government led by an international body.

Trump went into Monday's meeting seeking to overcome Netanyahu's misgivings over parts of the plan. It was not immediately clear whether the Trump administration and Israel had resolved all their differences, including over the possibility of a future Palestinian State, which Netanyahu has forcefully rejected, and any role for the Palestinian Authority in post-war governance of the enclave.

Leaders in Middle East and Europe welcome Trump's Gaza peace plan

European and Middle Eastern leaders have welcomed a new US peace plan for Gaza, as President Donald Trump warned Hamas to accept it.

The plan, agreed by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, proposes an immediate end to military operations. It stipulates that within 72 hours Hamas must release 20 living Israeli hostages and the remains of the more than two dozen hostages who are believed to be dead, in exchange for hundreds of detained Gazans.

A Palestinian source familiar with the ceasefire negotiations told the BBC that Hamas officials have been given the White House's 20-point plan.

It demands that Hamas will have no role in governing Gaza, and leaves the door open for an eventual Palestinian state.

Speaking at a news conference following talks at the White House, Trump called the plan "a historic day for peace".

But he said that Netanyahu will have US backing to "finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas" if Hamas does not agree to the plan.

Netanyahu then said Israel "will finish the job" if Hamas rejects the plan or does not follow through.

The Palestinian Authority, which governs the Israeli-occupied West Bank, has called the US president's efforts as "sincere and determined".

In a statement published by its WAFA news agency, the authority said it "renews its joint commitment to work with the United States, regional states, and partners" to end the war on Gaza, ensure sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the release of hostages and prisoners.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan said they welcomed Trump's "leadership and his sincere efforts to end the war in Gaza".

They said they were ready to engage with the US to finalise and implement the agreement, which they said should lead to a "two state solution, under which Gaza is fully integrated with the West Bank in a Palestinian state".

European Council President Antonio Costa said he was "encouraged by Prime Minister Netanyahu's positive response" to the proposal. He added "all parties must seize this moment to give peace a genuine chance".

Basically a de-militarised Palestinian state, open to Israeli raids anytime. No Palestinian with any actual freedom as can be picked up by any Israeli anytime.

Palestinians were on the verge of extinction and displacement. That was one of the major threats and plans from Netanyahu and Trump that Palestinians would be relocated and Gaza turned into a Riveira.

Main thing is that the killing needs to stop. They are getting massacred daily with nobody helping them, starving kids having to be operated on without anesthetic, once the blockade ends the true horrors will be known.

I just want the kids to be able to get something to eat and drink, hug their mothers or find some remaining family. I keep seeing videos of the aid points with small barefoot children standing alone, noone to look after them. Imagine what they have went through.

It feels like a big loss, but at least they get to live. In an ideal world at the very least the IDF would be held to account.

I hope Hamas signs this deal.

Oh no, I totally agree with you. I'm just saying the state will be a rump state. Yes, the Palestinians will have hope and will have some dignity in the future. But again, they're not really, really free. They can be picked up by any Israeli solider at any time without any warning. It's not really a free state as such. Of course, anything is better than the current killings that are going on. But it's clear there will be no accountability, no justice. The boycotts that Israel was very likely just about to face now, being banned from European competitions, being banned from football, it all resumed as if nothing has ever happened.

The whole world let them down in the end.

International order collapsed but they got away with it.

You would think at the very least especially the Qataris would push back and demand resignation or removal of Netanyahu and war criminals.

But they couldn't even do that. I'd imagine behind the scenes the ICC and ICJ will be told to shut up now too.

Here is 21 point plan (as per ChatGPT) -

  1. Gaza will be a de-radicalized, terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.
  2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of its people.
  3. If both Israel and Hamas agree to the proposal, the war will immediately end.
  4. Israeli forces will halt operations and withdraw to a pre-agreed line to prepare for hostage release; during that time military operations are suspended and battle lines frozen until conditions are met.
  5. Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting the agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned.
  6. After the hostages are released, Israel will release 250 prisoners serving life sentences plus 1,700 Gazans detained since October 7, 2023 (including women and children).
  7. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are returned, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Palestinians.
  8. Gaza will be governed temporarily under a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, composed of qualified Palestinians and international experts, for day-to-day public services.
  9. This transitional committee will be overseen by a new international body, the “Board of Peace,” chaired by Trump, possibly including other heads of state (e.g. Tony Blair).
  10. A Trump economic development plan will be created via a panel of experts (some from modern Middle Eastern growth models) to attract investment, create jobs, and rebuild Gaza.
  11. A special economic zone in Gaza will be established with favorable tariffs and access rates, negotiated with participating countries.
  12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza; those wishing to leave may do so and return freely.
  13. Hamas and other militant factions will have no role in Gaza governance, whether directly or indirectly.
  14. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure (tunnels, weapons factories, etc.) will be destroyed and not rebuilt. Demilitarization will be supervised by independent monitors, including a weapons buyback and reintegration program.
  15. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that the obligations are met and that “New Gaza” is not a threat to neighbors or its own people.
  16. The U.S. will work with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza. The ISF will train and support vetted Palestinian police forces, secure borders, and suppress arms inflows.
  17. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. The ISF and transitional authority will take over, and the IDF will withdraw according to agreed milestones and as stability permits, though a security perimeter may remain until Gaza is secure.
  18. If Hamas delays or rejects the proposal, scaled aid operations and stabilization in “terror-free” parts of Gaza will still proceed.
  19. An interfaith dialogue mechanism will be established to promote tolerance, peace, and changing narratives among Palestinians and Israelis.
  20. As redevelopment proceeds and the PA (Palestinian Authority) carries out reforms, conditions may be created for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination / statehood.
  21. The U.S. will establish a direct Israel–Palestinian dialogue to agree on a political horizon for peaceful coexistence.

Basically a de-militarised Palestinian state, open to Israeli raids anytime. No Palestinian with any actual freedom as can be picked up by any Israeli anytime.
There is no state being offered, only a vague commitment to a "pathway" for a Palestinian state as part of a plan to end the Gaza war.

Netanyahu and his fanatical far-right coalition partners are deadset against a Palestinian state.

Trump Issues Ultimatum to Hamas on Gaza Peace Proposal

US President Donald Trump has given Hamas three to four days to accept his Gaza peace plan, warning that failure to comply would give Israel a green light for intensified military action.

Trump framed the initiative as more than just a Gaza ceasefire, presenting it as a pathway to broader regional peace, while assuring that the deal guarantees phased Israeli withdrawal, Gaza self-governance, and no forced displacement of Palestinians.

He told Prime Minister Netanyahu that if Hamas refuses, Israel “has got to do what it’s got to do,” effectively turning the proposal into an ultimatum rather than a negotiation.

This seems to be drafted by Trump in his oval office, but the big question is.....

Whether Israel or Hamas are agree on this?
Otherwise begani shadi Mein Trump Deewana

Palestinians just need to be able to live to fight another day. Same way as the Jews had to do that when the Nazis tried to exterminate them. There is always a reckoning for genocide, but that can only happen if there's anyone left to do the reckoning.

They lured Iran into talks and then attacked them. Dont trust these thugs in any way or form. The plan is for a greater Israel and the Palestinians to be killed off or ethnically cleansed.

Crucially, it creates a pathway to a Palestinian state, something consistently and vehemently opposed by Israel, and a future road map for Gaza.

Deal is Dead!

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised Israeli forces will not be leaving Gaza, despite references to their withdrawal in the Donald Trump-approved "peace plan".
  1. Pakistan Army Leadership has already nominated Trump for "Nobel Prize"
  2. Pakistan Army has already backed this plan
  3. Pakistan Army will normalize ties with Israel
  4. Pakistani Scholars will placate the Pakistani people!
The whole world let them down in the end.

The only negotiating card in Hamas'd hand are "hostages" and they know that and will not release them! The Arabs and Pakistani are stooges ready to browbeat Hamas into submission.

Opinion of an American Palestinian:

The Palestinian struggle is for self-determination after our families were forced out of their homes through mass expulsion, murder, rape, and land theft.

You don’t solve colonialism by entrenching it. You stop the colonial entity that is shamelessly committing genocide.

Bringing back architects of the Iraq war that stole a million lives, and handing our destiny to the genocidal maniacs that stole a million more is stupid and sick.

Hamas unlikely to reject 21-point Palestine peace plan, says Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed confidence that Hamas will not oppose the recently announced 21-point peace plan for Palestine, stressing that negotiations with the group have been ongoing, ARY News reported.

Ishaq Dar, while addressing a news conference, stated, “I do not believe Hamas will reject the agreement. We must have confidence that Hamas will not oppose this plan.”

Dar said the plan’s objective is to ensure peace, security, and stability in the region. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s stance on Palestine has always been clear and based on a two-state solution.

Highlighting the diplomatic efforts behind the initiative, the Deputy Prime Minister revealed that the plan carries the commitment of eight countries, whose leaders “wholeheartedly worked to make it a success.”

They didn’t even reject the earlier one, but Yahud used it as a tactic to lure them out to Doha under the guise of “ceasefire negotiations” to set up the ambush.

To all of Netanyahu’s Indian fans, look up who broke all the ceasefire deals in the last few months to a year plus, even if you want to tunnel vision this almost 80 year conflict into 2 years.

Netanyahu was told by a guy in the 80s called Rebbe that he will be Israels last ever PM. He believes that his actions will hasten the forcoming of the anti Christ. He will never accept the Palestinian state so @Major what have we accepted. Munir is the biggest Zionist PK has ever seen @Mamoon what happened to you man. Where are you?

This is really stupid.

So not answerable to God for anything else? How about improving your own country for a start. Is that not "answerable" to God?

Dar has rejected trumps plan says it completely different to what the muslim panel of countries agreed alongwith Netanyahu totally denying Palestinian statehood .

So back to the drawing board for you .

There was never intention by these Israelis for peace because they want total destruction and annihilation of Palestinians alongwith a concept of a greater israel and subjugation of the region to israeli hegemony.

So as you can see now early stages of a Muslim nato have been formed and in a couple of years hou will see a great war between these Muslim countries and the judeo Christian alliance of the west its inevitable.

And BTW khwarij khan when in power the gaza war had not even happened

So i dont know why you are making things up about him being ousted because of gaza or israel.

Your own pti later retracted their statement against usa and Donald wu

So which is it was usa behind your ousting or it wasn't.

If turks can master jet engine technology then muslim world can make a stand

Because once the engine tech is there they can build the warplanes and drones to counter.

Turks have already excelled in drones and air defence even the iranians have performed well with drones

So as you can see now early stages of a Muslim nato have been formed and in a couple of years hou will see a great war between these Muslim countries and the judeo Christian alliance of the west its inevitable.
No. It shows what a bunch of complete cretins run PK. I could have you told that Trump works for the Zionists and Netanyahu has made it clear that there will be no Palestinian state which resembles anything of the sort.
So why with this information did these guys agree. Is it because they are immoral or because they are immoral and deeply compromised because they are in power illegally and need the Zionists to keep the funding going through the IMF.
You seem to be even more immoral than the Nooras if you believe their lies.

Dar has rejected trumps plan says it completely different to what the muslim panel of countries agreed alongwith Netanyahu totally denying Palestinian statehood .

Lol, Yes, Dar calls roti for chouchi.

Who are you trying to fool? They’ve been involved from the very beginning. The person your Prime Minister praised said the same thing—that both the PM and the Field M. were part of this from the start. They tested the waters slowly in Pakistan, but when they saw the reaction back home, they suddenly tried to shift their stance. Now they’re caught between public opinion on one side and Mr. Trump and Netanyahu on the other. They’re really stuck now... Let’s just wait and see what happens.

I understand the humanitarian point of the view that killing needs to stop but it doesn't mean that Isreal just gets to do what it wants.

I have a American Palestinian friend whose family lives in West Bank , and have relatives in Gaza too , They would rather give up their lives than to move and relocate and he was absolutely 100% sure about his people

what can you expect from incompetent fools who do not actually represent people of Pakistan and their sentiments about Palestinian State. Netanyahu has categorically said there would be no Palestinian state on many occasions , especially after UK , Canada and Australia Recognized Palestine last week . So I'm not sure how our unelected leaders can act as if they did not know the true intentions of Genocidal Maniac Called Netanyahu

when you do not have vote bank to be at top position , this is the sort of thing that happens. You run to great powers for their approval of the regime instead of own people and in that attempt , you give up many things

The only negotiating card in Hamas'd hand are "hostages"

and their weapons which 21 points agenda asks to lay down before approving it. The moment I read that , it was clear case of " NO " by Hamas ..do not know how our unelected leaders are so oblivious to this simple fact

Absolutely. They hoped that by controlling the maulvis they could control the public reaction. PKs see Munir and his puppets as traitors who have to sell themselves to Trump and the Zionists. This deal was made to keep these beghairat in power. The irony that @mazkhan and others accused IK of being pro Israel but we knew all along IK would never betray PK or the Palestinians, on the other hand these losers would betray both at the drop of a Dollar

True but as we know they and their familes still have to live in PK until they escape to Portugal and London

This PDM tola should have bought this in assembly and debated on this proposal , but guess what they were not allowed to , Trump just asked them to bow down

Dar touts 20-point Gaza peace deal as 'only possible solution' to war'

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed on Friday his commitment to the Palestinian cause in the National Assembly, assuring the House that the 20-point peace deal is the only possible solution to end the Gaza war.

He underscored that the priority right now is to end the bloodshed and put a stop to the war.

Dar clarified that Pakistan with seven other countries had recieved the 20-point agenda from the US. “There was no other item on the agenda during the meeting,” he said, adding that it was agreed to keep the discussions confidential.

According to the DPM, Qatar’s embassy was the convener for these meetings, which were not released to the media. “[United States] President [Donald] Trump’s committee also came and open talks were held on what they wanted...They gave us a 20-point proposal.”

"Using the given framework, we made our own amendments based on our wishlist and submitted the changes to the US."

Trump disclosed the 20-point peace plan on Monday alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, prompting questions on whether the initiative would lead to a two-state solution.

The deal has been met with criticism and concerns that Pakistan is waivering from its commitment to the Palestine cause.

Dar has consistently dismissed such claims. He insisted that there was no change in Pakistan's principled stance on the issue of Palestine, underscoring that Islamabad supports a two-state solution with pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds Al Sharif as the capital of a future Palestinian state.

The plan, backed by eight Muslim states — Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt — aims to enforce a ceasefire, protect civilians and begin rebuilding war-torn areas.

Dar confirmed that under the proposed agreement, an international peacekeeping contingent would be deployed to Palestine. He said Pakistan's leadership would soon decide whether to contribute troops, noting that Indonesia has already offered to send 20,000 soldiers.

The minister insisted that after the public release of the 20-point deal, conversations with his Saudi counterpart concluded with the realisation that ending the war still remains of utmost importance and rejecting the deal "would allow the bloodshed to continue".

Assuring parliament that this was the best course of action, Dar proclaimed that the United Nations and the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation have both failed to reach a peace deal. "With the US, we can see an end to the war."

Dar insisted before the House that Israel will never be recognised by Pakistan and that it remains committed to the two-state solution.

Jamat-e-Islami member and former senator Mushtaq Ahmad was detained by Israeli forces aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla on Thursday, along with atleast 400 other individuals, including notable persons like Greta Thunberg.

Ahmad was leading the Pakistani delegation as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla, hoping to break the seige of Gaza.

Dar said Pakistan has reached out to a European country to negotiate the retrieval of all Pakistani citizens in Israeli custody.

Pak-Saudi Defence Pact

Addressing the "Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement" officailly signed with Saudi Arabia on September 18, the minister procalimed that Pakistan has had a long sustained deep relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and that this defence pact had been in the works for a very long time, "This is an extremely important agreement; it was not made blindly or hastily."

"Many other countries have shown interest in entering a defence pact with Pakistan, with many states approaching Pakistan during the UNGA." He suggested that if more countries join, then "this will become a NATO-like alliance."

The pact declared that "any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both," according to a Pak-Saudi joint statement.

The pact was signed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Riyadh at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The agreement states that any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.

PPP stages walkout

Members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) briefly walked out of the National Assembly session on Friday over ongoing tensions with coalition partner PML-N, while journalists also staged a protest over the recent police raid at the National Press Club.

"So, we are walking out today," PPP’s Naveed Qamar announced during the session, citing unresolved grievances despite earlier dialogue with the government.

Shortly after, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar began his address, expressing hope that differences between the two parties would be resolved. He requested Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and National Food Security Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain to reach out to PPP leaders and persuade them to return to the House.

As Dar continued his speech, some PPP members were seen re-entering the hall, greeted with applause. Acknowledging their return, the foreign minister said the issues would be resolved through leadership-level engagement on both sides.

The PPP had staged a similar walkout during the September 30 NA session over remarks made by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The dispute, which began over flood compensation, escalated to a broader conflict over water rights along the Indus River after Maryam advised the PPP to "keep its advice to itself".

US President Donald Trump has given Hamas a deadline to accept a US peace plan for Gaza or face "all hell"

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Friday that an agreement must be reached by 18:00 Washington time (22:00 GMT) on Sunday.

The plan proposes an immediate end to fighting and the release within 72 hours of 20 living Israeli hostages held by Hamas - as well as the remains of hostages thought to be dead - in exchange for hundreds of detained Gazans.

Arab and Turkish mediators are understood to be pressing Hamas for a positive response to the proposal, but a senior Hamas figure has said the armed group is likely to reject it.

"If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas. THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONE WAY OR THE OTHER," Trump wrote in the Truth Social post.

The deadline announced on Friday comes after Trump said on Tuesday that he was giving Hamas "three to four days" to respond to the peace plan.

Mediators have made contact with the head of Hamas's military wing in Gaza, who has indicated he does not agree to the new US ceasefire plan, the BBC understands.

It is thought that some of Hamas's political leadership in Qatar are open to accepting it with adjustments - but have found their influence limited as they do not have control of the hostages held by the group.

Another stumbling block for some in Hamas is that the plan requires them to hand over all of the hostages over the first 72 hours of the ceasefire - giving away their only bargaining chip.

There are believed to be 48 hostages still being held in the Palestinian territory by the armed group, only 20 of whom are thought to be alive.

The 20-point plan, agreed by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and announced by both at the White House on Monday, also says Hamas will have no role in governing Gaza, and leaves the door open for an eventual Palestinian state.

However, Netanyahu later reinstated his longstanding opposition to a Palestinian state, saying in a video statement shortly after the announcement: "It's not written in the agreement. We said we would strongly oppose a Palestinian state," he said.

The plan stipulates that once both sides agree to the proposal "full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip".

It also outlines a plan for the future governance of Gaza, saying a "technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee" will govern temporarily "with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, called the Board of Peace", which it says will be headed by Trump.

European and Middle Eastern leaders have welcomed the proposal.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan said they were ready to engage with the US to finalise and implement the agreement, which they said should lead to a "two state solution, under which Gaza is fully integrated with the West Bank in a Palestinian state".

The Palestinian Authority (PA), which governs parts of the Israeli-occupied West Bank, has called the US president's efforts "sincere and determined".

Trump has said that if Hamas does not agree to the plan, Israel would have US backing to "finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas".

Netanyahu has also said Israel "will finish the job" if Hamas rejected the plan or did not follow through.

The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.

At least 66,288 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since then, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.

Pakistan FM says Trump’s plan to end Israel’s Gaza war was altered

The United States’s 20-point plan to end Israel’s war in Gaza is not the same as the draft proposed by a group of Arab and Muslim countries, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said.

“I made it clear that the 20 points that President (Donald) Trump made public are not ours. Changes were made to our draft. I have the record,” Dar said, speaking to politicians on Friday, according to remarks carried by Dawn news.

His comments come after the White House on Monday released a plan with fanfare that would include a ceasefire, the return of all captives, Hamas disarmament, and a new political architecture for post-war Gaza – one that would exclude the Palestinian group.

Its release came a few minutes before Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood next to each other at the White House to announce the plan. There, Trump told Hamas it had 72 hours to accept the proposal. On Tuesday, he gave the Palestinian group three to four days to agree to the plan.

Meanwhile, Hamas political bureau member Mohammad Nazzal told Al Jazeera on Thursday that the group was discussing Trump’s plan and would soon announce its position on the proposal. “We are not dealing [with the plan] under the logic that time is a sword pointed at our neck,” Nazzal said.

The published document was presented as a joint effort between Israel, the US and a number of Arab and Muslim countries. Last week, several leaders from the Arab and Muslim world discussed the plan at a meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

There are billboards in our major cities talking about "Abraham Alliance" and wrongly attributing half a verse from Surah e Hujrat about helping end disputes. Most of the prominent voices on TV are mentioning about the benefits of accepting Israel. Now Trump himself has tweeted that the document is signed and ready to go & action starts on Sunday so whatever statement they make is just pure filthy hypocrisy.

The denial is just the usual eye wash that our politicians utter for no real reason except giving their hardcore base some senseless drawing room arguments.

As is my major concern which I have voiced multiple times like a broken record, most of our ruling elite is parasitic in nature & Pak people are just a massive hive-mind stuffed with poor ideas & a flawed world view. The current regime may have bought a couple of years of US aid or some other form of help to have their rule extended but Pak as a whole will go back in time even further.

Even on this forum we will have a truckload of people who will call it a masterstroke and the best thing to happen to Pak since forever but the reality is that Pak has no moral justification to exist as a state anymore & every day that passes is a proof of that.

@mazkhan used to label Imran Khan as yahoodi sazish, from now on he will be labelling Imran khan as Khawarji.

Trump is an idiot, they can't end Hamas when all of them are fighting for their freedom and has the backing of all the innocent civilians tacitly.

Hamas says ready to release all Israeli captives, discuss details of Trump plan

The Palestinian group says that, in order to end Israel’s war on Gaza and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the enclave, it is ready to release all Israeli captives – both those who are living and dead – according to the exchange plan outlined in Trump’s proposal.

“In this context, the movement affirms its readiness to immediately enter into negotiations through the mediators to discuss the details of this agreement,” Hamas said in a statement shared on Telegram.

It also said it agrees to hand over the administration of Gaza to an independent body of Palestinian technocrats, “based on Palestinian national consensus and Arab and Islamic support”.

“Other issues mentioned in President Trump’s proposal regarding the future of the Gaza Strip and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are connected to a unified national position and relevant international laws and resolutions,” Hamas said.

They “will be addressed through a comprehensive Palestinian national framework, in which Hamas will participate and contribute responsibly”.

Hamas agrees to parts of Trump Gaza plan; Trump says Israel must stop bombing

Hamas said on Friday it would agree to some of the terms in U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the Gaza war, including releasing hostages, but avoided addressing more vexing issues like disarmament and said it would seek further negotiations.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he believed the statement from Hamas showed it was "ready for a lasting PEACE" and added that "Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly!" "Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that," Trump wrote. "We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East."

Hamas issued its response to Trump's 20-point plan after the president gave the Palestinian militant group until Sunday to accept or face grave consequences.

According to a copy of the response seen by Reuters, Hamas did not say if it would agree to disarm and demilitarize Gaza — something Israel and the U.S. want but Hamas has rejected before. It also did not agree to an Israeli withdrawal in stages, as opposed to the immediate, full withdrawal Hamas demands.

Trump posted a copy of the Hamas letter on his Truth Social page, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted an image on X of the president recording a response to "Hamas’ acceptance of his Peace Plan."
