Yea, but I think its going to suck. Its more of a Dragonball movie with a bit of Dragonball Z, I heard. And Piccolo is supposed to be the villain.

the thing is that you cant go directly into the good stuff, if they make a spectacular movie out of a plain story then i rekon hat the sequals will be amazing!
 
well theyve got to start somewhere...a combo of the two makes sense...i hope we see some kamehameha action!!...

as for goku vs the guyver..lol..the fight wouldnt last ten seconds...super saiyan 3 goku would annihilate the guyver!!...

Thats a bit too extreme. SSJ3 Goku would wipe out Guyver and his ancestors.

Kid Goku should be more than enough :16:

I've already got this game on pre-order for the PS3. Have you played the demo? Its so much fun and has almost if not blurred the line between the anime and games.

Hey if you get the game who knows, we could have a few battles! :D

Is the demo on the Playstation Store yet? I just asked my brother and he said that it isn't, but he's a crack-head so he's probably wrong!

To answer your previous question, there is no online in the demo only the full game. Theres only 2 matches.

Goku vs Raditz and Yamcha vs Saibamen x4

Still very enjoyable and you can get a feel for the gameplay before it comes out.

It makes perfect sense if you think about it.

The first transformation in DBZ is a giant ape = Beast

Both have no control over their actions nor emotions and just mindlessly, maliciously, viciously destroy ALL in their path without a second thought.

For Goku, that was the beginning of his many transformations. Legend has it there was one more Saiyan thought to be the most powerful of all that would make even Goku quake at the knees. The scary thing is, this particular Saiyan hasn't even tapped into his numerous other deadly, universe shattering, goat destroying transformations! Not that his current beast/ape form isn't terrifying enough!

Just played it for a while. Good stuff.

Uzzy, what's the highest rank you can get? I got 'Z' in the first fight- I'm assuming there's higher ranks that'll unlock the further difficulty levels?
 
Re watched it starting from Dragon ball till end of Z about a year ago. I dont consider GT official

Yea I really missed the epic power ups and long fights. The fight with Hit had everything but the long fight with several twists part.

Yea hate the fillers as well. Hope to see Gohan rise and/or Goku/Vegeta reaching new heights/epic power ups. The blue SS is just too simple for an anime.

So proud and also insulted I'm apparently an anime expert though :/

Yeah I've heard the same, especially people criticizing Super's graphics. Though some of the forms I've seen around on facebook seem kinda cool.

But I'm already preoccupied with other series like GoT so don't think I'd have the time.

Yeah I backed out of DBS early, like after 1-2 episodes since it was going waaaay too slow.

But maybe I'll hit it up again. I hope the gap b/w Vegeta and Goku has been closed.

Around episode 20, Vegeta surpassed Goku by quite some distance. But then Goku caught up quite spectacularly, and appeared unbeatable with that SSG x10 Kaio ken.

Next episode is actually a Goku Vs Vegeta fight to death which will settle any debate about who is stronger.

This thread tempted me to pick up DB again, just watched Resurrection of F, kinda feel bad for Vegeta, he should've been the one finishing of Frieza, he's the one who has suffered the most from him.

But it was a good movie.

Only in your dreams will Akira Toriyama allow Vegeta to get stronger than his main man Goku.

Goku is supposed to be the dumb one yet he out thinks his opponent. Doesn't this say enough?

they will try to stop him in Gokus timeline so Future Trunk timeline Zamasu will be weak remember what happen in Android Saga this arc is moving towards same....
 
Been watching DB Super series sub. On episode 39 I think. Hit is dominating Goku. Please no spoilers! thanks. :maqsood

Yea, but I stopped watching Japanese version around the time Zamasu/Black Goku died. So I am on English Dub version, but they're still on Ressurection F saga.
 
They are taking too long for the commencement of tournament. I was excited for it but lost the interest after awhile.
 
Felt empty ever since Bulma grew older, thank god they sent Caulifla. :27:
 
What a legendary, legendary anime. By far the greatest cartoon, anime, animated TV series or whatever you want to call it of all time. Nothing comes even close to Dragon Ball. You Naruto's and Death Note's and whatever you have can go to hell because DB is the sole and ONLY winner. They have a monopoly over anime & cartoons of all time.

I used to watch this anime in Pakistan when they didn't even air the entire thing on TV. This is back when a simple google search didn't give you thousands of links to websites. I would order CD's, cassettes and what not online or wait for some relatives to bring them. Legendary show man.
 
Not watching Dragon Ball Super though. I'm waiting for the English dub to hit at least 50 or so episodes. Don't want to spoil the fun reading subtitles.
 
I grew up with Dragon Ball, but was one of the rare to prefer other animes like YuYu Hakusho and Saint Seiya : in the latter two the "villains" had a "psychology" (esp. YuYu Hakusho, and the author does the same in his newer work, Hunter X Hunter) whereas I always thought that in DB the villain's sole purpose in life is to be beaten up by the hero. What I also disliked in DB was the whole impetus on resurrection. It takes out the whole "heroic" feel in the anime, so the "sacrifices" are worth nothing.

Of course I still believe DB is one of the greatest animes but I never caught the hype I guess.

Looking now at modern day animes but also video-games (the Marios, Zeldas, Final Fantasy's, ...)/movies, I think those who grew up in the late 80s/90s/early 200s were quite fortunate to have tasted such "classics", because these animes like DB, YuYu Hakusho, ... do distillate into you a moral world-view with some cardinal ethics (the sense of self-sacrifice, valuing friendship, etc) nowadays, minus One Piece, there's not a single anime worth being named next to those (I also like Death Note, Code Geass and few others, but they don't have the same "spirit" as these older ones.)

It's been a good buildup,enjoyed the U-6 Saiyans and their personality differences to U-7,tho it annoys me when they could easily turn Super Saiyan.Back in the Frieza/Cell Saga,SS used to mean something.
 
Also when the Universe Saga began,I'd hoped that since Universes would mean alternate dimensions,GT could be brought into play.SSJ4 was cool.

It was a bigger joke when Trunks and Gotens turned SSJ as kids. The new ones atleast have an excuse that they are not the same as Saiyans from Universe 7. No tail suggests an evolutionary leap, so things might work differently for them.

Agreed but some of the episodes are downright fillers which bored me to sleep.

Also, I also don't like how the power scales are working in super. I mean, in what world a nobody like krillin can stand up against SS blue, boggles my mind. I get it that toriyama is trying to bring original DB character to limelight again but after DBZ cell and buu saga, the difference between earthlings and saiyans is just too much.

Goten and trunks don't have tails, So they have more potential.

Has nothing to do with the tail I believe, nor does it make them have superior potential.

Sayian transformations are nothing but some genetic abilities being unlocked. Goku and Vegeta passed these "unlocked" genes to Gotens and Trunks making the transformation a child's play (doesn't give them a greater potential). Look at Pan, she was literally born with a power that rivaled infant Broly, all that thanks to SSJ2 and "Ultimate" Gohan genes.

Pretty stupid to compare death note with dragon ball, both are completely different genre of animes, I have watched each and every episode of dragon ball, dragon ball z, gt and super, I am one of the biggest dragon ball fans out there, dragon ball series is easily the most popular anime of all time but death note is the greatest anime of all time in terms of quality, plot and story, both animes have their own place, no need to diss one in order to praise other.

Steins Gate is another great anime which almost rivals death note imo, but death note will always remain my all time favorite
 
In my top 5 anime of all time. Have binge watched dragon ball and dragon ball z about 5 times. I feel dragon ball is really underrated. Unlike dragon ball z, the characters are way more balanced relative to each other and thus the fights are more intense and unpredictable for example Goku vs Tien and Goku vs Master Roshi. Dragon Ball just had a more homey feel to it. Z is still better but not by much.

Lmao why are you comparing this with death note? Clear case of nostalgia affecting choice. Dragon Ball is in my top 5 anime but anyone who has seen Death Note knows that it is the pinnacle of entertainment.

Subbed is the way to go for all anime. Why do people even bother with the English dub?

I love Death Note, don't get me wrong. But considering both are anime, I rate Dragon Ball higher. I agree that Death Note had a great plot and story but because of all the action and fighting, the classic Dragon Ball animation, story line and theme often goes unnoticed.

Both animes are great and have their own place, like you said but Dragon Ball is still ahead.

I started watching the subbed version when super first came out but after noticing the atrocious animation skills (which you may have seen as well), I was disheartened and only wanted to continue once the English dub first came about. I'm glad that the animation and everything is back on track now but I still feel like waiting for the dub to come out. Don't want to ruin childhood memories by hearing Goku running around with a squeeky voice.
 
My intention is not to judge anyone particularly but I feel as though most people only rate Death Note higher than Dragon Ball is because it is more fashionable. Dragon Ball is like an inferior good, everyone has access to it, everyone knows about and it even comes on Cartoon Network! Death Note on the other hand is the unknown show which is quite famous among people who know a thing or two about anime but random people have never heard of it. Which is why I feel like certain people choose Death Note over DB to sound more 'edgy'. I could be wrong, after all, everyone has their own tastes and preferences and Death Note is an amazing anime overall, but this is what I think.

Don't get caught up in the rumours that toriyama apparantly 'forgot'. It's very silly explanation going around because if you go through all translations of toriyama interviews he never said such thing.

We can go only by facts and any credible explanation which can be termed legitimate is God book volume 4 in which it is specifically said saiyan genes have very high compatibility with earthlings. The child prodigies born as a result of cross race interaction have higher potential especially those born without tails as they can ordinarily have arduous transformation like super saiyan.

Another explanation is goten and trunks were concieved after goku and vegeta transformed into SS as a result their genes inherited them. This theory is not well documented unlike aforementioned one.

Not well documented, but the most obvious one. If you compare Goten and Trunks to Pan, then you will see that Pan's power is galaxies ahead for her age and this can only be explained by Ultimate Gohan's abilities that she inherits.

Also, early development of abilities isn't the same as potential. Gohan was born to an ordinary Saiyan, had a tail, had to work hard for his forms, yet the kind of potential he showed as a kid was unmatched. His abilities far exceeded Trunk's.
 
Man idk if y'all have been keeping up with Dragon Ball Super but this recent 1 hour special episode was the best I've seen and is easily comparable to the most iconic DBZ moments. Crazy nostalgia just like when Gohan got SSJ2.

Started to watch Super last year and powered through the earlier poor animation and weak storylines and have to say it was truly worth the patience. Animation, story are all on point now.

Epic showdown between Jiren and Goku, still not sure what this new form is called. The theme song was very fitting as well

I've been watching English Dub version. Nostalgia paired with new storylines makes for an epic show so far. Rn I've watched up to Universe 6 saga with Vegeta v.s. Magma Robot.

On Japanese Dub I've seen up to Black Goku saga, but I'm not going to watch more of that, will continue with English.

I still haven't gotten used to Goku's Japanese voice and never will, but I think the Universal Tournament arc is too good to pass up.

That's the Japanese name apparently. The translation calls it Ultra Instinct.

The Jap version sounds cooler. IMO if you have to add ultra to anything it makes it sound kinda lame. That was my only gripe with another wise perfect episode.
