i have been living in the west for 8 years now and i have noticed that a lot of pakistanis here are very particular about consuming halal meat and shopping from halal groceries.
some even don't have fish in restaurants because of the possibility that pork and non halal meat may have been cooked in the same oil and utensils.
but these same people don't have a problem with paying taxes to western governments who use their tax money to fund attacks against muslims. imo that is a bigger haram than eating non halal chicken or beef.
so how do you reconcile this hypocrisy? there are a lot of overseas pakistanis so obviously they have to deal with this dilemma.
my family prefers halal of course but if it is not available we don't have a problem with eating non halal meat. obviously we totally abstain from pork.
