Egyptian warplanes bomb targets in Libya after attack on Christians

CAIRO May 26 (Reuters) - Egyptian air force planes on Friday carried out six strikes directed at camps near Derna in Libya where Cairo believes militants responsible for a deadly attack on Christians earlier in the day were trained, Egyptian military sources said.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said he had directed strikes against what he called terrorist camps, declaring in a televised address that states that sponsored terrorism would be punished.

The sources said the strikes took place at around sundown, hours after masked gunmen attacked a group of Coptic Christians travelling to a monastery in central Egypt, killing 28.

"The terrorist incident that took place today will not pass unnoticed," Sisi said. "We are currently targeting the camps where the terrorists are trained."

He said Egypt would not hesitate to carry out further strikes against camps where people were trained to carry out operations against Egypt, whether those camps were inside or outside the country.

The US is pushing all its "allies" (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, ...) to commit suicide on national level, for geopolitical as well as economic reasons (lots of juicy contracts with all the weapons influx) : now not only ISIS but also other radicals will say "look how far they go for their Christians, while when Israel does way worse on Palestinian civilians the most they do is photo-shoots with the Israeli PM or close the tunnels."

Like Cambodia, Pakistan, etc they will have to learn the lesson the hard way when you conclude military "alliance" with the Great Satan and viper called United States of America.

I was disappointed to read about the attack on Coptic Christians in Egypt but I have to say, I'm very impressed by the Egyptian response. This is the type of response I wish Pakistan's government and army would have post terrorist attacks on minorities.

I doubt the corrupt leaders of these nations care about the people they are supposed to be representing. I agree it's an idotic move which will only create a bigger backlash.

Libya is already a stateless mess. Egypt know they that they can do this without any real reprecussion from Libya. Egypt has its own homegrown I.S supporting population it needs to focus on. IS in the Sinai are becoming a much more persistent problem.

Would be good if you ask the same of USA,UK,Europe incase next time a terror attack occurs there because its their fault.
Self Harm is different from interfering in the matters,involving in wars far outside the continent of the country is nothing but their fault could be 50% but still is.
