If Sarfraz wants to keep his place in T20, then he has to come at one down and take the role of accumulator.

The team with Sarfraz as Captain, looks like this:

(1) Fakhar
(2) Kamran Akmal/Mukhtar

(3) Sarfraz (Babar Azam seems unfit for this format)

(4) Maqsood/Haris Sohail/Hafeez/

(5) Malik

(6) Hammad Azam/Sohail Akhtar/Nasir Nawaz

(7) Faheem Ashraf

(8) Shadab/Imad Wasim

(9) Hassan Ali

(10) Amir

(11) Roman/Shenwari

Otherwise, if Kamran Akmal is selected, then remove Sarfraz from the team and make Malik Captain.

I agree that Sarfraz's game do not suit T20s but his captaincy is so good that he can even play as a specialist captain. That being said, I believe T20Is should be used to give exposure to young cricketers and to groom new captain unless if its WT20. My XI will be :

1) Gohar Ali
2) Asif Ali
3) Fakhar Zaman
4) Hammad Azam
5) Shadab Khan
6) Hussain Talat
7) Faheem Ashraf
8) Imad Wasim
9) Hassan Ali
10) Mohammad Amir
11) Rumman Raees

Captaincy can be given to one of Fakhar, Faheem, Imad or Rumman .

According to inzi they didn't select Sohail Khan in CT because of AGE FACTOR
Now if they select K-Akmal again then it would be kinda biased decision

What is this thread?

This is so stupid....dropping our best captain for a 30 plus wk..

It is not dropping of Sarfraz, but what would you do if the selectors select Kamran Akmal?

Also, with or without Akmal, still the question remains about the role of Sarfraz Ahmad in the T-20 team. He could be drafted only at one down position, which was occupied by Babar Azam.
But it seems Babar Azam is not fit for T20s. So, Sarfraz should at any cost take this one down position, which will accommodate him in the team.

I hope that you are right.
Nevertheless, we all know there are no hard rules regarding age factor. Therefore, it will not be surprising if we see Kamran Akmal once again in the team.
Problem is this that Sarfraz is not a Hard hitter and does not suit to this format as a batsman. Otherwise Akmal would have no chance to return back.

I would rather push for Faheem Ashraf at 6 instead of trying to slot in Hammad Azam or the other guys mentioned. The main thing is that you cannot afford to drop Imad wasim.

Kamran Akmal is history. if we go by the fact that he obliterated a team of jobbers for 150*, we might as well pencil down Khurram Manzoor and Shan Masood as well. Those two have played knocks in the same tournament that suggest they should be looked at. The truth is, this tournament isnt a measuring stick to determine if these guys are good enough for International cricket. Players like Sami and Akmal have only returned time and time again to do nothing special at the international stage on their comebacks. Shahzad has also gone down this track also.

Mark my words, Ahmad Shahzad will be in the top 5 runs scorers in the PSL, but he will not replicate that form or skill at interntional level.

Sorry but Akmal does not merit a place in the team just because of his golden patch right now

His main job is keeping which is extremely poor so end of story..

Don't worry both will be selected.... leading wicket taker and leading run scorer... For Kami they will select SK in place of UKS who is injured

If domestic tournaments aren't a measuring stick, then why are Sadaf Hussain and Fawad Alam rated so highly on this forum based on domestic performances?

Kamran Akmal should never make a comeback to international cricket. The way forward is to include younger players, not go back to TTF.

no no no no no no no to kamran.

Whatever he performs in domestics he can never replicate it, plus this man is nearing 40... t20s are to test out youngsters and then to induct them into ODIs, OP must be new to Pakistan cricket

I never understood why. I can bet my house on the fact that Sadaf Hussain is probably a bang average bowler for the International scene. Probably bowls between 80-8MPH max and gets a bit of latteral movement. With the current battery of Fast bowlers in Pakistan, what exactly does this guy offer which makes his selection highly important or him being shunned unfairly?

Saddaf Hussain
Harris Sohail
Fawad Alam
Hammad Azam

this forum mentions the names of these players as if they are the Galacticos we never had. Sahibzada Farhan is next.

Bhai Haris Sohail is the best batsman in Pakistan along with Babar. You saw even in his first test series he looked the best Pakistani batsman. Similarly when he was in odis side, he looked our best batsman and just when he was settling into international cricket and making it big, he got that unfortunate 2 years injury.

Kamran opening lol
Babar has just started to improve his game in international t20s so unfair to drop him

Of course K. Akmal should never be selected again but Sarfaraz does need to understand that batting at no 7 will not work. Even in the PAK cup he comes very late to bat.

He needs to bat at no 4.

With due respect RE Sadaf even if he bowls at 15mph with his stats he should have played for Pakistan. Period.

Yeah thats a great idea ,instead of giving Babar the play time to make him grow as a player drop him so that he turns into Kamran akmal WHO IS LETERALLY CRAP IN THE INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT

I haven’t even read the opening thread but the title itself tells me evrything I need to know.

What is Safaraz’s record as T20 captain and how does it compare to his predecessors?
Where are Pakistan ranked in t20’s?

What have been Kamran Akmal’s performances since 2009?

When he himself asked for three chances and failed then what has he done to warrants another comeback, even after failing in the Windies?

“If Safaraz wants to keep his place”..
I mean honestly what is wrong with some people!?!?!?!

Shoaib Malik said he doesn’t want Captaincy
Kamran Akmal always fails when he comes back on the international circuit (see last 3 comebacks)
And PCB wants same captain for all 3 formats.

So a no no no, in all cases

changing captain will not change results
sarfraz got good team anyone can captain this team and win matches without any problem
dont be a blind fan of sarfraz or anyone
if sarfraz is not performing he deserves to be axed along with other non performers

Sarfraz wouldn't do better than Babar at 3 in t20s. I think Babar would be better off opening in t20s.

Sarfraz may need to play at 4, but I think we have better hitters that aren't being selected. But Sarfrazs value as a captain is too important for him to be dropped.

Pretty soon there this ll be in constitution that “do whatever you have to do but Include an akmal in team”🤦🏽*♂️🤦🏽*♂️🤦🏽*♂️🤦🏽*♂️🤦🏽*♂️

There’s no place for any akmal in the t20. He was dropped in the psl innings where he scored a century and he did the same in the final.
Much like FawAd Alam, Pakistan should move on from Kamran

Akmal the Butter Fingers Comeback # 1001 LOL, what does he want, another 3 chances now or 300?

I will rather have take a newbie like Mukhtar or any other young batsman who can help the team with his batting/fielding/bowling rather than helping the opposition by dropping catches at crucial juncture of the game!

Kamran Akmal is the Pakistani Brad Hodge, he only makes it big in his own leagues and is a flop in others. This man will have a great career in domestic leagues, but he's just not made for international cricket.

lol how many chances and games has Kamran Akmal? The answer is far too many than he has deserved and shouldn't be anywhere near the International team or even in consideration.

Why are you insulting Brad Hodge

Agree with the rest of the post.
