England [305/8] defeat New Zealand [186] by 119 runs to reach Semi-finals of World Cup 2019

Allow it guys let Pakistan team go home and we can relax as well. All this Hope and 92 drama will finish. Knowing Pakistan they would have lost the semis anyway with Aussies. Better go home with less Painfull WC to watch us lose in semis. Lets rebuild the team, Make Harris Sohail the Captain and Babar Azam VC. Keep Mickey arthur as a coach. Replace Flower with mohd yousaf or Damian Martyn.
 
These two will give us some hope and when we start believing they will fail. Painful lol
 
Taylor looking to play on mid wicket will be next to go he should rather play straight

Rightly so. Both India and Australia benefited from home advantage in the last two World Cups. Why should England be treated differently?

They clearly underperformed but won the games they were supposed to win barring the Pak game. A bit of luck helped in the games vs Ind and WI. They are savvy and find ways to get into SF in almost every WC

Yes we saw the “on song” Pakistan against Afghanistan, who were blown away thanks to the momentum Pakistan gained from the wins over South Africa and New Zealand.

They didn’t. India had Munaf Patel in their pace attack and were using a part-timer like Yuvraj as a specialist spinner. Australia were dismissed for 150 the only time they stepped outside Australia.

Both teams abused home conditions and England deserve to do the same. ICC’s “neutral pitch” fever didn’t exist in 2011 and 2015.

Pak should forfeit bengali game and fly back

World of difference. India didn’t bat brilliantly, but their bowling was excellent and Afghanistan never looked like chasing the total. Also, they didn’t rely on umpiring howlers.
 
I think this is the right time for Pak fans to switch over from supporting NZ to England. Please start cheering England so they bowl NZ out for less than 100

Its not a brainer. Pak is Out of the WC.
 
This is not an easy pitch, ball getting stuck. NZ cannot chase this unless one of these two show some absolute brilliance.

God forbid if WC ever happens in pakistan and if if if pakistan given favorable pitches, anti pak posters will keep on saying that pak using home advantage.. but if others do it they are ok

We are not the best on any surface. If we get slow pitches, we will get thumped by India and Bangladesh which is what happened in the Asia Cup.
 
Maintain 6.80 RRR throughout the innings is almost impossible. Only chance pakistan got they need to score 900 batting first against bangladesh.
 
i agree with Nasser Hussain when he said NRR should not decide who qualifies. should go on Head to Head. you can see from the way NZ are batting they are not intent on getting 305. Probably aiming for 240.
 
New Zealand certainly doing a great job of keeping Pakistan in the tournament here.... 40/2 off the first powerplay.

If Pakistan host a World Cup and have a strong enough team to benefit from certain types of pitches, I would have no issues at all.
 
Pak best chance to win and qualify against Bangla is to bowl first, restrict them to less than 200, and then chase the target in 15-20 overs.

Agreed bhai. It's obvious for england to take advantage from home conditions but how you can justify Bairstow crying after SL match?

Around 700 should do actually. I guess, Kiwis will settle for a 50 margin here; that reduces the gap to around 375-400 .... and batting 2nd we'll definitely score between 275-300, at least .... I keep 30-35 runs as buffer :)

Pakistan deserved to win that game. They were the better team on the day and if anything the pitch was a disadvantage to Pakistan because as evident from the showing on Saturday, their batsmen are inept against spin. Furthermore, Santner is superior to Shadab as a spinner and Pakistan had to bat last.

So this "farcical" pitch, made to keep Pakistan in the tournament is the biggest load of nonsense I've had to read on here for a long while.

You can be biased but surely you can do that without sacrificing logic?

Even then it's not enough. Our NRR took a big blow in our first game against WI and we haven't won any game convincingly enough to recover significantly.

To be honest he had a point. That match almost derailed their campaign and it was a terrible pitch.

Unfortunately, logic and him don't go together. As i have said so many times before we are not good against spin, specially our young batsmens.

New Zealand have just one proper spinner, that too a SLA. Facing Rashid, Mujeeb and Nabi in tandem on a turning wicket isn’t the same facing Santner alone. NZ would be favorites against Pakistan on any other type of wicket.

I am saying that England deserves home advantage that the past two World Cup winners got as well. When India were winning matches with Yuvraj bowling like a specialist spinner, we didn’t seem to complain much because we were also benefited from those conditions. Afridi bowled like prime Warne.

Yes, we played shane warne, murli and saqlian on that pitch hence we won. Only 2 wicket was taken by spin in that game one for shadab and one for williamson.

I support the team that is why I believe we don’t deserve to play the semis and it is time to make wholesale changes to achieve long-term success.
 
I cannot see NZ batting for NRR. They are building a platform then will attack.
