England (823/7d) secure a historic win by an inning and 47 runs against Pakistan (556 & 220) in the 1st Test match and lead the 3-match series 1-0

If England had Stokes & Wood we would have been even more mauled

Poor Jamal, getting assaulted on this flat deck

Leach strikes. IT is pathetic captaincy of Pope Engalnd is still on the field. He let that useless Bashir bowl 6 useless overs y day.

Shaheen has been pathetic. He knows he will be dropped next game.

There is very little chance to save this game, but you do not give up like this.

These handshaking, backslapping losers are smiling. This should be the last test series Pakistan ever play.

We are an embarrassment to the great game.

Forget the Rhona dhona 0-3 was expected.. let the Indian fans enjoy

Congratulations for pakistan for most humiliating defeat ever at home after scoring 550+ in first innings .

Only country to get an innings defeat after scoring 550+

556 taking out 2 days from the game and still lose by an innings

Congrats to all Bhartiyas and Sanatanis here. Had Sohaib Bashir played for England and not for opposition, we could have celebrated last night itself. Nevertheless, mazaa aaya.

For my Pakistani friends, don't get dishearted. Another home test loss...no big deal. Atleast you can rejoice Joe Root is closing on Tendulkar.

:rabada2

You can pick england university eleven, this useless team can still collapse in 2nd innings. Pure minnow mentality
Maybe. But problem is that PAK attack is a legacy built on tampering and reverse swing whether anyone wants to admit or not.

Take that out and it's always been an attack low on skills.

Getting exposed now.

England win first Test by an innings and 47 runs

Pakistan become the first Test in the history of Test cricket to score 500 plus in their first innings and lose by an innings. What a performance from England!

Losing by an innings to this engilsh pop gun attack ,pakistan is defining new meaning for minnows.

This is a shameful scorecard for Pakistan..

Just some normal regulation batting yesterday evening would have confirmed a draw for Pakistan but nope..they had to get shot down to 80/6 in the face of a little variable bounce.. :)

Old ball did absolutely nothing and they could have batter the whole day today had they lost 2-3 less wickets yesterday.

Feel sorry for most of the Pakistani posters, but at the same time the itch to rub it in to Major bipolar 🤡 types is just too good...

So here it goes how do you end up giving 4 wickets to a fuddu Leach on the flattest of the pancakes and lose a test when you scored 550+??

It's the first time in Test history that a team has lost by an innings after scoring 500-plus in the first innings.

Pakistan's horror run in Test cricket continues. It's their sixth consecutive loss in the format, and their seventh loss at home in the last 9 Tests.

What has happened to Shahin? When he debuted he looked like having serious atg potential. From there to be outbowled by the likes of Carse and Atkinson is astounding

When I saw Woakes and Carse running to the changing room at the time when the declaration was made, I knew these English cheetey were going to do something special.

It’s always about body language and mindset.

England cricket is indeed a brand!

This is a shameful defeat even after losing 2-0 to Bangladesh.

After scoring 550 they made their fans believe and now losing by an innings against this bowling line up.

Big egos always end up like this

Chris Woakes what a great cricketer. Trundler now still setting the tone with the ball on a flat deck!

Honestly, who loses by an innings after scoring 556? It is almost unheard off. Credit also must go to England for scoring 823 runs in 150 odd overs with a whopping run rate of over 5. This is Bazball at its finest and McCullum/Stokes/Rob Key can take a lot of pride in it.

If you want to lose by this margin then better play U19 cricketers instead of the so called experience ones , atleast the young ones will have potential to become better with time by playing against high quality teams consistently. In domestic they will improve at a fraction rate compare to what they will improve by playing against quality players.

Player of the match, Harry Brook, after his maiden triple-century speaking during Post-match presentation:

"I enjoyed it a lot. It was tough out there with the heat, but it was good to be out there with Rooty, putting on that partnership.

"We just wanted to bat as long as possible and get as many runs as we could. It was a good surface to cash in on - and hopefully many more to come."

Pakistan lose against England at Multan (2024) is one if the most humiliation defeat ever .

Pitch was a road then Pakistan scored 556 in first innings still lost by an innings. Really embarassing defeat.

Don't think any player wants to play test cricket in Pakistan.
Certainly not in the current squad.

But they don't hit the deck hard like Naseem and Shaheen, I was told. :D

A declaration of 271 runs ahead with 5 sessions to go, expected to bowl a team out on a road!

England bowlers have delivered massively for their captain who didn’t even score a run! This is what happens when EVERY player is aligned to the same goal.

Zindabad England!

Zindabad Pope/Stokes!

Zindabad Brendon McCullum!

Love you King Charles!

Left out Rob Key and the ECB chair...

Time to play some Golf now and enjoy England lads…

Shan will join you to make it seem as if he is a hospitable Pakistani who can put English sentences together! Maybe Ali Tareen can also join in?

shudder to think another TEST is going to start on the very same ground on Tuesday .... another boring run-fest loading ! PCB will kill TEST cricket with these kind of pitches !

England secured a commanding victory over Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test match of the three-match series at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday. The hosts, who resumed their second innings at 152/6, were eventually bowled out for 220 in 54.5 overs, with Abrar Ahmed unable to bat due to illness.

Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan's top scorer in the second innings, was the first to depart on the final day after contributing 63 runs off 84 balls, including seven boundaries. He shared a valuable 109-run partnership with Aamir Jamal, who remained unbeaten on 55 off 104 deliveries, striking five fours.

England's bowling attack was spearheaded by left-arm spinner Jack Leach, who claimed four wickets, including the scalps of Salman, Shaheen Shah Afridi (10), and Naseem Shah (6). Brydon Carse and Gus Atkinson chipped in with two wickets each.

In the first innings, Pakistan posted a total of 556, thanks to centuries from Shan Masood (151), Salman Ali Agha (104*), and Abdullah Shafique (102), along with significant contributions from Saud Shakeel (82), Naseem Shah (33), Babar Azam (30), and Shaheen Shah Afridi (26). However, England's massive first-innings total of 823/7 declared, powered by Harry Brook's 317 and Joe Root's 262, proved insurmountable for the hosts.

The second Test match is scheduled to take place at the same venue from 15 October, with England leading the series 1-0.

There has been 19 instances where a team has lost a Test match despite scoring 500 runs in an innings, Pakistan have lost 5 of them

If only Pakistani bowlers been stingy as their batters in this match and batters averaged like their bowlers...would have been a different result...

In next test make a spicy pitch like the ones we saw in champions cup and make 8/9 changes to the playing XI and don't bother with the result just ask the new players to put their 100% aggression and courage in the field.

Only Shan , Agha and Jamal should be retained from the current playing XI and just select the best young performers in domestic cricket.

Any chance of Imam making a comeback? He's a better proposition than Saim?

Yeah I mean you need to score more runs in the amount of time you take out from the game against England.

Baqi aapki Marzi

Any other decent openers or 1 down? To be honest sometimes you need a slow grinding anchor who wears down oppo bowlers like Pujara, so the remaining can cash in on tired bowlers

The grinder is good for 3, a bit like root.

Personally I would just go for Fakhar Zaman in this series at least if I am to replace Saim (I don’t want to replace him).

Zack Crawley has a Test average of 32 and he’s an absolute butcher on these wickets. Back the guy who you know can give the ball some tap.

This would be my Team

1.Shafique
2.Hurraira
3.Shan (CPT)
4.Ghulam
5.Shakeel
6.Salman
7.Rizwan (WK)
8.Jamal
