Harry Kane insists his No.1 goal is to win trophies with Tottenham in his clearest hint that he might stay at White Lane.

Tottenham striker Kane, 29, equalled Jimmy Greaves’ record of 266 goals and needs just one more to become the club’s leading scorer of all time.

There has still been so much uncertainty around Kane’s future as he will have just 12 months left on his contract this summer with both Manchester United and Bayern Munich keen.

But Kane may now be willing to talk about a new deal to stay at Tottenham and he made it clear that his biggest ambition is to win silverware with the club.

Kane said: “Of course, I still want to win trophies for Tottenham Hotspur. That's been my goal since I started playing first team football with them. It hasn't happened.

“I've been open about [how I feel about] that but I'll continue to try to achieve that. We have a really good squad, a fantastic manager and there's no reason why we still can't be successful this season.

“We've just got to put everything we can into it and see where we are come May or June.We bounced back at Fulham with a good win and we're going to need more of that if we're going to be where we want to be at the end of the season.”

Harry Kane needs to move on from Spurs otherwise he'll regret it later on.

Now that he is a goal away from being Spurs all time top scorer, there's nothing left for him to do at that club after this season.

Harry Kane becomes Spurs' all-time top goalscorer - with their first proper attack of the game.

It's also his 200th Premier League goal.

Harry Kane is the third player to score 200 Premier League goals after Alan Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208).

Kane took fewer games to reach the landmark. This is his 304th game. Shearer took 306 and Rooney took 462.

Tottenham's all-time top scorer Harry Kane speaking to Sky Sports: "It's hard to put into words and I'm so glad it came in a win.

"We worked so hard to keep a clean sheet. It was so special to do it in front of the fans. There has been so much talk about it in the last couple of weeks and to do it in such a big game is even more special.

"It is a great feeling. When I started playing regularly it wasn't even in my imagination to score 200 Premier League goals and i have a few more years left so hopefully there are more to come.

"[Jimmy Greaves] is a complete hero, one of the best strikers to play the game so to be in that conversation is special. And to overtake him is a huge moment for me."

Harry Kane has moved ahead of Jimmy Greaves to become Tottenham's all-time top scorer with his 267th goal for the club and 200th in the Premier League .

The 29-year-old England striker reached the landmark with a low finish against Manchester City in his 304th Premier League game for Spurs.

Greaves, who started his career at Chelsea, scored 266 goals in 379 games for Spurs between 1961 and 1970.

Kane, who made his Spurs debut in 2011, has played 415 times for the club.

Kane's finish in Sunday's encounter with City was typically coolly taken, fired in low after he had been set up by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the box.

The England captain is the third top scorer since the Premier League was created in 1992 - after Alan Shearer, with 260, and Wayne Rooney, with 208.

He has reached his double century of goals in the competition in fewer games than both of those two, with Shearer taking 306 games and Rooney needing 462 to reach the tally.

He has scored 17 league goals this season and 19 in total for Spurs, 11 more than the next highest scorer for the club, Son Heung-min.

Kane is also just one goal away from becoming the leading all-time goalscorer for England. He is currently tied on 53 with Rooney.

Harry Kane: Tottenham unwilling to sell in summer but Man Utd can't afford a transfer saga

Harry Kane's future could be unresolved heading into the January window with Tottenham not willing to sell him this summer, regardless of whether he signs a new deal or where they finish in the Premier League.

The England international, who is focusing on trying to deliver a top-four spot, will enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season and talks over extending at the club are currently on ice.

Tottenham have no intention of sanctioning a sale even if that remains the case heading into the new campaign. Spurs are prioritising getting a deal over the line, but are being patient with their key asset.

Kane's presence and contribution to the club is more valuable than the transfer fee he could amass, especially as they face a summer of transition with manager Antonio Conte set to depart and football director Fabio Paratici's future uncertain.

Manchester United, long-term admirers of Kane, retain a strong interest in the 29-year-old but cannot afford a transfer saga in a priority position. Erik ten Hag wants a forward recruited as early as possible and his ideal scenario is to have new signings in place for the bulk of pre-season.

The Carabao Cup winners would "absolutely" explore a deal for the striker if everything aligned and Spurs switched from obstinate to being open to business. However, there is no appetite for a war of attrition with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Depending on their summer trading and the profile brought into the attack - United are very mindful of having to sell well and comply with Financial Fair Play regulations - they could revisit the Kane situation in January.

United have cast a wide net over dynamic options, with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Goncalo Ramos, Lautaro Martinez, Dusan Vlhaovic and Mohammed Kudus assessed.

If Tottenham hold firm as planned this summer and still cannot get Kane to agree a new deal as the winter window approaches, he would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club in January - a situation Bayern Munich are particularly invested in.

Much will depend on where Spurs (and United) finish domestically this season, as well as who succeeds Conte. Mauricio Pochettino would convince Kane to extend his deal if appointed, while sources close to the player believe he could also be swayed by an ambitious hire like Thomas Tuchel.

He is not at the age to "front another project and rebuild." Kane wants to win and add silverware to a career of great professionalism, consistency and scoring excellence. He does not want to be remembered as "the guy who broke goal records but didn't have any trophies to show for it."

He needs to Move to Manchester Untied, they are the only top club in need of a striker.

Its a shame he couldn't win anything with spurs, but he needs to move now, their best period (2016 - 2019 ~) to win in a trophy is done, he just became top goal scorer for spurs.

One of England's top goal-scorers, stuck with a team with huge issues.

Should he leave for a better club?

In the midst of another Spurs humiliation he scored a fabulous solo goal. If he had any brains he would have left 5 years ago, he is far too good for them.

He made a massive mistake when he signed his last contract and he naively thought he had a verbal agreement with Daniel Levy

If he joined City he would have had a Premier League winners medal already

He has a year left on his contract but is now in a tough situation, going abroad to Bayern-PSG pretty much guarantees he gets a trophy but then he misses out on breaking Shearer's record but staying in the PL will get him that record but which team does he join to guarantee a trophy?

Harry Kane is a big reason why Tottenham hasn't won a trophy in the last decade. People need to stop making excuses for him. He played in three finals for Tottenham and did nothing. This season, he did nothing against Sheffield United in the FA Cup. He also did nothing against an average AC Milan side in the champions league this season. He is a great player, but like all the Tottenham players, he is a serial bottler in big matches.

This narrative that Harry Kane needs to leave Tottenham to win a trophy is complete nonsense. He needs to stay at Tottenham and help them win a trophy. Going to Man City, Liverpool or Man United and winning a trophy with them would be him taking the easy option.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane said he held an "honest conversation" with chairman Daniel Levy on Monday to try to revive the club's season.

Kane and some other senior Spurs players met with Levy 24 hours after their 6-1 thrashing at Newcastle.

Interim boss Cristian Stellini was sacked later that day and replaced with first-team coach Ryan Mason.

"I think it was important [for Levy] to understand where the players' heads were at in that moment," said Kane.

"It was an honest conversation of where everyone is at and what we need to try to do to give us the best possible chance to finish the season with something."

Kane added that he felt the Newcastle result had been "building up" since Tottenham conceded two late goals in a 3-3 draw against Southampton last month, a result that led to the departure of previous manager Antonio Conte.

The north London club fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Manchester United in Mason's first game back in charge on Thursday to stay fifth in the table, six points outside the top four.

"We're still fighting for fourth place but if it's not fourth, we'll try to finish fifth or sixth - as high up as we can," added Kane.

"In this league, it's so competitive, you can easily end up eighth or ninth if you're not careful. That's what it was - to give us the best chance and I'm glad we reacted like that."

Kane would not comment on speculation about his future despite Manchester United fans singing they would "see him in June" during Thursday's match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Kane, who was the subject of interest from Manchester City in 2021, is about to enter the final 12 months of his Spurs contract and has been linked with a summer move to Old Trafford.

"I heard what they were saying but I'm just focused on this team and trying to finish strongly," he said.

'Kane one of the best in the world'

Meanwhile, interim boss Mason has labelled Kane "one of the best and most intelligent players in the world".

The 29-year-old is the club's all-time top scorer with 274 goals in 430 appearances having moved ahead of Jimmy Greaves in February.

He also overtook Wayne Rooney to become England's all-time top scorer with his 54th international goal against Italy last month.

"This country probably doesn't appreciate how good Kane is from a footballer point of view. He's incredible," said Mason, who was also a team-mate of Kane during his playing days.

"Watching him live, this country should appreciate we've got a real special talent. We're talking about one of the best, most intelligent players in the world."

Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly told the Real Madrid board that he wants to sign Harry Kane this summer.

With his contract at Tottenham set to expire next year, Kane could depart north London ahead of the new season.

talkSPORT understands that Spurs are confident of keeping their start player at the club beyond the summer.

Chairman Daniel Levy does not want to sell to a Premier League rival, which could therefore scupper Manchester United's plans.

However, clubs across the continent could be of interest to Kane this summer, with 14-time Champions League winners Madrid being one of them.

Karim Benzema is set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in the coming weeks amid links with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Harry Kane tops Real Madrid's wanted list as they look for a replacement for Karim Benzema.

Kane, 29, has a year left on his Tottenham contract and is undecided on his future.

Benzema's departure after 14 years at the club has left the Spanish giants needing a new striker.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez, Chelsea's Kai Havertz and Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic are also on their list of targets.

But 14-time European champions Real are huge admirers of England's record goalscorer Kane and are hopeful the exit of several of their high earners this summer can help their bid.

Along with the departure of Benzema, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Mariano Diaz are also leaving Madrid this summer, boosting their transfer and wage budget by 77m euros (£66m).

Real remain in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over England midfielder Jude Bellingham, with the former Birmingham City player keen to sign.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to keep Kane at his boyhood club, though, and is understood to be wanting in excess of £100m, a price tag Real would be reluctant to pay.

Kane has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for Spurs and is 47 goals shy of Alan Shearer's Premier League goalscoring record of 260.

They have kept hold of him before, two summers ago when he tried to engineer a move to Manchester City.

But with Spurs unable to deliver Champions League football next season and Kane yet to win a major trophy, the forward's future in north London remains unclear and Real will hope a desire for major trophies will attract him to a move to Spain.

Tottenham are still without a manager as well, after a disappointing campaign ended with Ryan Mason as interim boss, but will open talks with Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou in the next few days.

The Ballon d'Or-winning Benzema, 35, who joined the Spanish giants from Lyon in 2009, departs Real on a free transfer, having won five Champions Leagues and four La Liga titles with Madrid.

Harry Kane: Bayern Munich want Tottenham striker but verbal £60m offer rejected

Bayern Munich want to sign Harry Kane, and have had a verbal offer of £60m plus add-ons rejected by Tottenham, according to Sky in Germany.

Tottenham have told Sky Sports News that no official bid has been made for Kane, and the club's stance is that any bid will be rejected.

Tottenham do not want to sell Kane - who has one year remaining on his contract - but Bayern and manager Thomas Tuchel appear to be ready to test the club's resolve.

Kane broke Tottenham's all-time goalscoring record in February with the winner against Manchester City.

It saw Kane move beyond Jimmy Greaves' tally of 266 goals for Spurs, which had stood since 1970.

The next target in Kane's sights is Alan Shearer's record Premier League haul of 260 goals.

After a fine individual campaign in which he scored 30 goals, despite the north London club finishing eighth and having three head coaches, the forward is now only 48 away from passing Shearer's tally.

Tottenham have rejected Bayern Munich's latest offer for striker Harry Kane.

Bayern had hoped to agree a deal for the England skipper but it is understood the two sides remain apart in their valuation of the 30-year-old.

The Bundesliga champions had suggested if their bid for Kane was unsuccessful on this occasion they would move on to other transfer targets.

However, with over three weeks of the transfer window left, it remains to be seen whether that is the case.

Kane, who has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions, skippered Spurs in Sunday's pre-season match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

He has one year left on his contract with Tottenham and there have been no indications Kane would be willing to extend it.

If chairman Daniel Levy elects to keep the England striker it would effectively be ending the club's last chance to cash in on their talisman.

Levy don't want to sell and kane doesn't have guts to force a move away. He might as well wait another season and then join Arsenal on a free like sol Campbell did.

The entire situation is a mess really, massive distraction for Ange too.

Kane obviously wants to leave but this is all his own fault really, it was moronic of him to sign an extended contract without inserting a written release clause. He relied on the verbal agreement with Levy, how naive.

I also think Levy is taking a massive risk by playing hardball, in his situation I would accept the Bayern bid for two reasons. 1) You get a decent fee for someone who is 30 and only has a year left on his contract and 2) He goes abroad, out of sight so it won't hurt the fans to see him play for a rival or have him score against you.

The risk is that he prices Bayern out of a deal, then Kane leaves on a free next season and then suddenly the odds of him staying in the Premier League increase.

Though I suspect Levy is probably hoping he stays for now then Kane bottles it and signs an extension.

Harry Kane has zero ambition. If he had ambition to win trophies, he would have left Tottenham 3-4 years ago. He is letting Levy waste away his talent.

Don’t mind him at Arsenal instead of Jesus

They have to go £20-30m over whatever any Big champion’s league will offer for him as a standard price

That's fine club has plenty of money, also if we sell nketitah, balogun, Vieira and few others that will help as well

Kane is getting his revenge of Levy.

He is playing a game but knows he will leave on a free transfer next season to a PL club. Kane will receive 100M signing on fee while Levy will get nothing.

I admire the optimism but there is absolutely no point making a bid for him

Firstly Spurs wouldn't accept it and secondly he doesn't strike me as the kind of player that would make such a move. He bottled pushing the City move, no chance he has the courage to move to Arsenal

BREAKING: Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Harry Kane, report The Athletic 🚨

The fee is believed to be worth more than €100million.It's down to Kane now whether or not he will make the move ⏳

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Harry Kane, sources in Germany indicate.

A proposal from the Bundesliga side, believed to be worth more than €100million (£86.4m, $110m), was accepted by their Premier League counterparts on Wednesday.

Kane must now decide whether or not he will make the move.

The 30-year-old wanted the situation resolved before Tottenham’s opening fixture of the season at Brentford on Sunday.

He is known to be enjoying life under new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou and has been leaning towards staying.

But it is unclear how the striker will react to this development.

Kane is into the final 12 months of his contract and Tottenham want to tie him to fresh terms.

There has been no progress on that so far, which has led the club to consider selling their talisman in the current transfer window rather than running the risk of losing him as a free agent next summer.

The Athletic reported on Tuesday that the clubs remained a distance apart in their valuation of the England captain after fresh transfer talks on Monday evening.

Bayern had seen three bids for Kane rejected, with the first made in June, but they have since made a breakthrough after increasing the offer.

Kane is reluctant to embark upon a transfer once the 2023-24 campaign begins and has been encouraged by Postecoglou’s early impact.

He played a full part in Tottenham’s summer tour to Australia and Singapore before scoring four goals in a 5-1 win home against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday.

Postecoglou admitted after that game that he was in “open dialogue” with Kane and the club over a potential switch, but warned of the need for an outcome soon for the sake of all parties.

City didn't want to over pay for him, yeah he did bottle it
Had Kane pushed for the move, Levy would have sold him to Man City.

Kane did an interview with Gary Neville, where he stated his market value. He also initially didn’t turn up to pre season training, but eventually he bottled it and came back for training.

The guy doesn’t seem very ambitious because if he was, he would have left Tottenham 3-4 years ago.

Yep, as a I thought yesterday. I'd be surprised if Kane goes to Bayern, he has won nothing as a player but is on course to be the greatest goal scorer in premier league history, a record which may not be broken for decades. He is clearly very angry with the owners for not accepting the bid from City, which was a fair bid. He feels he's given so much to Spurs but received little in return.

If he stays, the Spurs fans will love him even more, the owners will be in tears, wanting some money in January. All it will do is make Spurs a weaker team than last season.

Leading all time goal scorer In a league without any winning any trophies.

It's like a mediocre cricketer being Leading wicket or run scorer without actually winning anything.

Spurs deserve a loser like kane they are made for each other.

Its the English mentality. 'Oh he didnt win anything, bottled the pen in the world cup but greatest goalscorer and such a lovely guy'.

Shearer who imo is the GOAT striker in PL, at least had won the League Title before deciding on Newcastle instead of Utd, where he would have won plenty. The difference with Kane is when he leaves on a free after a poor season for Spurs the fans will lose some love for him...or will they? Spurs fans are almost as strange as some Arsenal fans.

Spurs accepted 95M so that shows they are willing to sell. I think if a PL club came in you would need to add maybe another 15-20M. Maybe Chelsea or united may do that at end of window.

Agree 100% kane has a bottlers mentality and will never be rated as world clas or elite for thar reason.

If haaland stays in premium for 6 seasons he will break any meaningless record that kane sets

Never understand the obsession with individual honours in a team sport. If Harry Kane prefers breaking the premier league goal scoring record than winning trophies, then he is playing the wrong sport.

Latest: Kane seems to have agreed to leave. Levy must have told him to get out.

Flying out tomorrow for medical in Germany.

England captain Harry Kane is set to have a medical at Bayern Munich after being given permission to travel to Germany by Tottenham.

Bayern and Spurs agreed a deal worth more than 100m euros (£86.4m) for the 30-year-old on Thursday.

The decision to move was left up to Kane, who is Tottenham's all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.

Kane had one year left on his contract and was unlikely to stay with the club.

Providing there are no unexpected issues, Kane's move will be completed in time to start the Bundesliga season next week.

It was felt the striker wanted a decision around his future made before the season began, but it has taken Bayern most of the summer to reach a point where Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was prepared to do a deal.

Harry Kane to Bayern Munich: Tottenham striker's move 'imminent' as medical due

England captain Harry Kane has arrived in Germany for a medical at Bayern Munich as he nears a move from Tottenham.

Bayern and Spurs agreed a deal worth more than 100m euros (£86.4m) for the 30-year-old on Thursday.

The decision to move was then left up to Kane, who is Tottenham's all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou confirmed on Friday the deal is "imminent".

Kane had initially been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but it was unclear whether Levy would have been willing to sell him to another Premier League club.

He could have run down the final year of his contract before leaving on a free transfer in 2024.

Manchester City's attempt to sign Kane in 2021 prompted the England striker to delay his return for pre-season training, but he played on Tottenham's recent pre-season tour of Australia and South East Asia while negotiations with Bayern continued and last appeared on Sunday against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Spurs will face Brentford in their first match of the season on Sunday while Bayern begin their campaign against RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup on Saturday.

Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times - in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2020-21 - and with 213 goals from 320 games in the English top-flight he needs just 48 more to break Alan Shearer's Premier League scoring record. A move to Germany could kill off that prospect.

England captain Harry Kane has joined German champions Bayern Munich on a four-year deal, ending his record-breaking career at Tottenham.

The striker signs for an initial 100m euros (£86.4m) plus add-ons and could make his debut in Saturday's German Super Cup game against RB Leipzig.

Kane, 30, leaves Premier League Spurs as their all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.

In a social media post he said he "felt this was the time to leave" Spurs.

Kane was linked with a move to Manchester City in 2021, and his future had been uncertain this summer because he only had one year left on his contract at Spurs.

He was also linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid earlier this summer, before Bayern made their move. After having several bids rejected, a deal was agreed on Thursday, with Kane flying to Munich on Friday to finalise matters.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said the club had "reluctantly agreed to his transfer".

"We sought over a long period of time to engage Harry and his representatives in several forms of contract extension, both short and long term," Levy said.

"Harry was clear, however, that he wanted a fresh challenge and would not be signing a new contract this summer."

Kane is Bayern's 'dream player'

Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times - in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2020-21 - and with 213 goals from 320 games in the English top flight, needed just 48 more to break Alan Shearer's Premier League scoring record.

Kane, who is England's all-time leading scorer with 58 international goals and was the top scorer at the 2018 World Cup, has never won a major trophy with club or country.

"I'm very happy to be a part of FC Bayern now. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I've always said that I want to compete and prove myself at the highest level during my career," said Kane, who will wear the number nine shirt at Bayern and has signed until 2027.

"This club is defined by its winning mentality - it feels very good to be here."

Bayern Munich claimed their 33rd Bundesliga title last season - and 11th in a row - and have won the Champions League six times and German Cup on 20 occasions.

Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said their pursuit had been "a long process" but that Kane was their "absolute dream player right from the start".

"He is a perfect fit for us and the club's DNA in terms of both football and character," he added.

"World-class centre forwards have always been an important factor when FC Bayern has celebrated its greatest triumphs, and we're convinced that Harry Kane will continue this success story

"Our fans can look forward to one of the best goal scorers of our time."

Club president Herbert Hainer said the transfer required "tenacity, bite and perseverance", adding: "Kane will not only strengthen FC Bayern, but also be a real asset to the entire Bundesliga."

'It's not a goodbye' - Kane's message

Kane joined Spurs' academy in 2004, signing his first professional contract in 2010 and making his senior debut in 2011.

Loan spells away from the club followed before he returned to establish himself as Spurs' main striker in the 2014-15 season, scoring 31 goals in all competitions and winning the PFA Young Player of the Year Award.

He passed Jimmy Greaves as Spurs' all-time top scorer in February 2023 with his 267th club goal in a 1-0 win over Manchester City and finished last season with 30 Premier League goals as Spurs ended a difficult season in eighth place.

Kane posted a video on social media saying: "Obviously, a lot of emotions going through me right now and sad to be leaving the club I've spent 20 years of my life at, from an 11-year-old boy, to a 30-year-old man.

"There have been so many great moments and special memories; memories I will cherish forever."

He added: "I felt this was the time to leave. I didn't want to go into the season with a lot of unresolved talk."I think it's important for the new manager and the players to concentrate on trying to get Tottenham back to around the top of the table and fighting for trophies.

"It's not a goodbye because you never know how things will pan out in the future."

Levy said Kane was a "model professional" and "an inspiration for young players who dream of following in his footsteps".

"We have seen a product of our academy system become one of the best players to ever pull on a Spurs shirt and become one of world football's elite strikers," added Levy.

"It has been a truly remarkable journey.

"I should like to thank Harry for everything he's done for us, all the memories, all the records - we wish him and his family all the best for the future.

"It goes without saying, he's always welcome back. He's a much loved and valued member of the Spurs family, forever in our history."

Best move for Kane.
Levy was never going to sell him to a PL team and he's now going to a club where he is almost guaranteed to win domestic medals, unless of course the curse of Tottenham Hotspur's follows him to Germany.

Bump

Unless Tottenham get lucky they have lost massively. The striker they get will cost a fortune and he won't score 20 goals and the history of Spurs shows they are poor spenders.

The only time when Bayern lose the chance for a trophy is when Harry Kane joins :ROFLMAO:

I almost feel bad for him
