England v India | 2nd ODI | Bristol | [24/8/07]

176/3 off 29 overs. 154 from 126 balls. India still favourites but Bell and Collingwood look in good knick.

I say good knick and now Collingwood is bowled charging Chawla. Poor shot selection but great bowling sending him the wrongun.

176/4

Hmm, England still can win this. Flintoff has to put up a good performance, along with Bopara.

Flintoff gone caught on the boundary. Afridi like brain melt i think. Powar tossed it up, he went for the big hit and didn't clear the boundary. Brainless batting by Flintoff.

185/5

50 for Ian Bell. Another great innings by the Warks man. He's in fine touch this series.

116 from 78 or 5 wickets needed. England not out of it but there aren't enough boundaries being hit at the moment.

Bopara has amazing wrists. He is just flicking these balls effortlessly through mid wicket for runs, the last one for 4.

110 off 74

Ravi Bopara gone lbw to Munaf. Played all around a straight one and it was as plumb as you could get. Gone for 18 off 20.

220/6

Bopara gone. plumb lbw. Wicket to wicket stuff from Patel.

Its sad how this game developed for England. After a brilliant start by Prior and Cook, Patel broke thru with 2/2 and from there England has looked lost.

1-1. 5 more to go.

Bell smacks a big 6 straight back over Chawla's head. More needed please.

gone for it again and caught on the boundary at long on. Can't be fussy with Bell, good innings and he had to go for it with the RRR at 10+. England with plenty of nails in the coffin now.

65 off 36. Mascarenhas has hit 3 sixes so far so game still sort of on.

OMG! Wow!

Dunno what Macahahreherhencenneas plans on doing. THREE sixes already. WOW!

Dimi hits Agarkar out of the ground! That's a huge huge huge hit. 41 off 16

and a huge six from mascarenas. went out of the ground I think
289-7 need 41 from 16 balls

This is where someone like Waqar Younis could come in good. One Nicely aimed toe-crushing yorker would do the trick.

Dimi finally goes after a brilliant innings. Just ballooned into the air for an easy catch.

mascharenhas out ct at midwicket off RP Singh
Eng 299-8
need 31 from 8 balls

Wow....that was some innings. This has been an utterly useless pitch for seamers. England turning into a spinner's paradise :)

24 from 5 now. Broad finally smashes a 6 with Powar catching it over the boundary.

Still technically win is possible.....and both of these are supposed to be hitters.

320/8 off 50

One of the best games i've seen in a long time. Great performance by both teams but hats off to India with a deserved win today. 1-1 in the series, set up great.

Who was I kidding! This match got so close! Never knew Stuart could do that! WOW!

we already see how test matches have been influenced by ODIs.. now we see ODIs getting the influence from 20-20 :) :)

This is going to be fun now....Indian Top Order Vs English Lower Order.

Could be another heck of a series.

Spinners won that for India.

Maybe England should try playing theirs!

fantastic match ... congrats to india.. england should have played monty and they maybe could of won.

lets hope the series is even more exciting

That was a wicked match, hopefuly a glimpse of more to come in the series.

Mascaranas phwoar, huge hit down deep mid wicket, out the park.

England developing into a good 1 day side, they probably missed monty tho.

I'm just back from the game, and that was the reaction of every England fan I spoke to. I do not exagerate when I say that the biggest cheer of the day came when Monty walked around the ground. Everyone stood, cheered and applauded.

What were the selectors thinking of? Unless your seamers are of Holding, Roberts, Croft and Garner standard, at least one spinner is essential on any pitch in the modern game.

If I thought that one day cricket was that important, I would be angry. Even as it is I'm quite peeved. :******:

exactly why I din rate tendulkars innings .......thank god he din get to his ton , we still have some hope !

Of course, we only win more than 70% of times he scores a ton, dont we. And the fact that most time he scores more than 50, India wins wont stop you posting your cr@p will it? dont let Dravid's great innings fool you, if scoring runs was so very easy then England would have got theirs. And how soon you forget Sachin's innings against SA in the last ODI series where the wicket was anything but flat.
Your sachin complex is showing up again. Only an Indian can berate a player who actualy plays well :13: Wonder why no one apart from karthik stood up in the last match then. what about the great Dravid??????

You rant about SRT making use of a flat wicket but how come dont blame Dravid for the same, who has been failing more oftern than Sachin in recent times? He's untouchable is he? Is Dravid the new untouchable God of Indian cricket?

Zindabad India!

But to England...I originally thought we would win 7-0. But England has played superb cricket in both games, hats off to you guys and it's gonna be a close contest. Looking forward to an amazing series!

did you see me hyping up dravid innings anywhere ? it was good innings & nor did i say tendulkar played badly......but it was nuthing close to gr8 like some people are suggesting here........it was a 350+ wicket , small ground & add to that fast outfield ...330 was very much getable only england screwd up , I uwd give more credit to our spinners than our batsmen ...........yuvraj ,Dhoni and Dravid are the only three players who have stood up & played under pressure for us before .....no one , trust me no one expected tendulkar to play in the first match...as expected he choked ........with yuvi going early @ 34/4 match was already beyond dravid and dhoni .......if u still din get it , I don rate scores batting first ..same for tendulkar & same for dravid !
