Achievable yes. Will it happen? I believe so.

There is also Dinesh Karthik, no?

he is already out. came in #3
Dhoni out
Ind 190-5 - need 92 from 70 balls
Indian tail starts. Powar should be next

ooOh, Dhoni gone. Another useless knock under pressure from the great power.

Ind 200-5 after 40.3 overs - need 82 from 57 balls
If Yuvi stays for next 5-6 overs it will get close

spidey Powar out trying to hit big for no reason. I guess if he had connected well then it would have been good. He should let Yuvi hit
Ind 210-6 - need 72 from 47 balls
Game is not out of India's hand yet. just need couple of good overs from Yuvi

Yuvi gone....

When is the next match?

WELL PLAYED ENGLAND :14:

UV and Indian hopes are gone!!!

Well done ENGLAND!!! 2-1 up and 4 to go

A fair performance, although Panesar and Tremlett's places in the ODI side look questionable at best. Tremlett got two huge wickets today but he wont always have that to save him (one of them was a lucky dismissal), and his economy and control is non-existent. Panesar...I love him, but in the ODIs what does he do?

Anderson, Broad, Flintoff and Collingwood look like 4 reliable bowlers for the next world cup and maybe beyond that...but only 2 of these four are specialist bowlers, and we need to find some more as consistent and efficient as them.

Monty gets another tailender (as per usual). Zaheer gone slogging and is bowled.

seems panesar improved much in ODI's

leg stump flying with a perfect yorker from Anderson. England win the game by 42 runs. England lead the 7 game series 2-1.

I dont think Panesar has improved much in ODIs at all. He debuted in Aussie and has been inoffensive enough, but he is just average in this form of cricket. He offers you 10 overs that will go for between 40 and 60 runs, maybe with one wicket and very rarely with two wickets, but he is wicketless too often for my liking. His batting and fielding, well not much to say. Again, nothing awful but nothing special whatsoever, so is he really worth one of the places in our XI?

England are better off playing a spin bowler/all rounder than Panesar. Ian Blackwell isn't that bad and i am sure there are plenty of other options. Like Kaneria, Monty isn't suited to ODIs so better replace him in next game.

yeeaah Jimmy Anderson. Thanks to Anderson, Bell, Collingwood and Tremlett for winning today's match for Eng. I hope we win the series because we have a lot of one day cricket before Christmas to warm up for and our side has a bit more about it now than it ever did under Fletcher, so I'm quite excited.

yeah with the current bowling attack ENG will almost always need 270+ to win these ODI games!

P.S its always been a mystery to me why Hoggard doesn't do well in the ODIs because normally the swing bowlers do a lot better with the white ball. Now with such a long series may be its worth giving him another shot in the ODIs.

Graeme Swann is the perfect spinner for England's ODI team, but will probably not play for England again due to non-cricket related prejudices against him within the selectorial committee. After which we need another seamer, preferably one who gets the speed guns going, obviously with accuracy as well.

The Englishman who are topping the wickets charts in domestic, one-day cricket are:

Tim Murtagh
James Kirtley
Kabir Ali
Liam Plunkett
Simon Cook
Mark Ealham
Darren Gough
Graeme Swann
Sajid Mahmood
Graham Wagg
Graham Onions

Most of them are utter pie chuckers to be honest. You'd have to say Onions, Kabir and Kirtley are the cream of the crop in the seam department, whilst Swann is the only contender in spin-bowling. He is the top English spinner in terms of wickets taken both in first class and one day cricket.

I never rated Kabir Ali but looks like he has improved a lot this year, maybe he should get a chance as he can bat a bit as well. Sajid Mahmood on the other hand needs at least 2 years of consistent performances to get back into the side.

I don't think Flintoff should count as a non-specialist. Along with Anderson, he is your best and most reliable bowler as long as he stays fit. Lets not rank him with Paul Collingwood.

Panesar's hardly played in this form of the game so I guess it's understandable that he's not setting the world alight. Graeme Swann's recent performances certainly suggest he's learnt a lot since his last call up I suppose Peter Moores may consider making another raid on Notts.

Chris Tremlett has a nasty case of Stuart Clark-itus, only worse due to the number of loose balls he can also bowl from time to time.

Easa, do not underestimate Collingwood's bowling in this form of the game. I've noticed that it is one of the most underrated elements of our one-day side. He is a limited bowler and cannot always offer 10 overs, but he has a knack of producing very good spells of 1-20 or 2-30 when they are needed most. There are countless times when the run rate has been going out of control and/or teams have been taking the game away from England, and Collingwood has pulled things around with awkward, economical spells that can also bring a wicket or two, and calm the rest of the bowling attack down.

Flintoff is on another level to Collingwood as an individual cricketer, but Collingwood is ironically just as important to the (ODI) team.

There is now a good chance for England to win the series. The next two matches are a day/nigter at Old Trafford (day nighters can be a lottery with the coin toss), and then a day match at Headingley, and we have done ok at Headingley recently.
