England have been excellent Today.
Have turned the game around and now the momentum is with them.
NewZealand will have to work hard to get back into this game now.

This a bit like the NZ of old. 2 days of great work undone by one horrible session that turns the match.

Not that im complaining its better than the utterly dominated in 3 days NZ we have seen a lot of in recent times

I was sarcastic about that leg glance comment. Of course he has other shots too but he uses that way too much and to good use which makes him annoying to watch.

I feel Dan has lost hunger for the game. He doesn't seem too motivated any more.

Yea basically retired from limited overs due to his body falling apart. He has had a lot of injuries throughout his career that he has played through.

He could of played in these tests if he really tried to get fit.

Bowled a fuller length, then followed up with more assertive batting.

I'm pleased for Root who looks like a real find. I'd like to see him open with Cook when KP comes back.

Crucial wicket. Need to pluck a few more now.

The pitch is a little better to bat on now so England will want a lead over 300.

Root gone after a very good innings. And Trott gets half century.

Looking like game over for NZ.

NZ will have to show grit here batting second innings, hopefully second innings would be a little better

Kiwis need to make sure they are tight here and not give easy runs, the more time england spend here on crease , the better for kiwis.

Southee bowls Bairstow. This could get interesting with Prior on a king pair and Ian Bell sick.

too much time for draw. NZ have to go for the win here regardless.

Come on Player of the Year Prior. Give us some buffer to work with so that Jimmy and sidekicks can defend a legitimate total.

England lead by 195 runs with 6 wickets remaining

One would assume that 300 would be enough here

Superb comeback. I reckon we'll win unless it rains.

Matty gets a pair! Blimey, how are the mighty fallen!

Dingdong still malingering, so Broad is next....

Prior gets a pair. Wonder if Bell will come out now?

Prior fails again when the bowlers have their tails up and are charged.

Didn't I tell you he is good only when the bland top order of England bore the bowlers to death and he feasts on some slumbered souls to get a quick fire 100 and take the plaudits.

No wonder he has been miserable for England in ODIs in the top order.

:msd

Williamson getting the ball to rip now. Swann must be licking his lips.

If England can scrap enough of a lead, I am more excited about our premier duo of Anderson/Swann. Simply because it means less chance for Finn/Broad to ruin it.

England needn't worry. No way are we chasing 200 on the last innings on this pitch, let alone 280 or whatever the score will be at the close.

It's an injustice that Southee averages 34. He's so much better than that.

Like Anderson, he had an indifferent start to his career but has improved leaps and bounds.

Has got his act together quicker than Anderson though. Only a matter of time before he averages in the 20s.

World class potential.

I'd take him over the one test Australian wonders made of glass any day.

Good to see you applauding a New Zealand player for a change.

"In comes a seventh close catcher for the final ball of the day at Lahore-d's"

The Cricinfo commentator Alan Gardner throws a bone to us at Pakpassion.

I am enjoying the test after heavy dose of IPL. Go Kiwis.

I agree. I have been forced to watch IPL because no other cricket has been available but whilst watching it, I have no interest in what is happening, often putting ITV4 on the TV but not watching it (instead choosing to go on PP).

I'll share an anecdote. Today, my family went to a wedding whilst I decided to stay at home and watched the New Zealand-England Test at Lord's unfold and I watched with complete interest. When my family returned, my father frowned and asked me whether the IPL was being broadcast today. I said I didn't know and he then proceeded to ask me why are you watching a boring test match, suggesting how casual cricket fans perceive Tests as boring, even though the IPL is boring in itself as the games have no context, meaning and there are too many of them, thus adding to the fact that each game doesn't serve any real purpose. At least international T20's do, but IPL, in my opinion, doesn't at all.

Brilliant Cricket from NewZealand.
Just when i was losing interest Southee struck.
And than the 3 quick wickets have brought Newzealand right back in the game.
Southee was bowled brilliantly, some extremely good deliveries by him.
Mcculum also deserves sone credit for his captaincy too.
But the main thing for NewZealand should be to keep this momentum with them and win the Match.
Apart from a bit of Turn the pitch has also eased up.

McCullum has proven to be such a great captain, we in the country have to issue a collective apology to him with the way we criticized his shady looking appointment. Turns out that he had little to do with it in hindsight.

NZ are battling well to make it a good fight. Tomorrow morning session should be crucial.

And god do I get annoyed with Broad and Finn. Do absolutely nothing for most of the innings, get one wicket apiece of actual batsmen (and Brownlie is barely an actual batsman). And then Finn goes on to get easy wickets to bad shots from the tailenders and ends up with respectable figures. How is it that Jimmy has bowled 4 more maidens than everyone else combined, and gone for 17/16 runs fewer than Broad/Finn who have bowled 3 and 6 overs fewer? England are so overly reliant on Jimmy and Swanny that it's stupid. Swann and Jimmy put the team on their backs, if we wanted a specialist tail-remover, that's what we had Flintoff for, and Finn can't bat that well to be our Flintoff.
