What's new

England v Pakistan | 1st Test | Lord's | Jul 14-18, 2016 | Day 3

Crucial session this , we falter and england will win by tea tomorrow. If we somehow be able to survive this session then 50 50.

This game is Test cricket buddy, much easier than T20 - you can stroll around 2/over. There is someone in middle whom I respect at the highest order. He didn't chase 191, from 57/5 against SAF in UAE, neither against spinners. Old fox, lost lots of his far, so looks ugly now, but knows what he is doing.

It was a good innings, but Kamran won us that match with his counter-attacking half-century.

For a so-called legend, Younis banks on his batting partner carrying him far too often.

He might be knowing what he's doing out there today, but Shafiq is carrying him in this partnership.

If they can carry on in that manner for 70 odd runs, it won't matter

Good partnership this is, but need to convert this partnership into 100+.

Moeen is on now, hope YK will start scoring runs.

Inshallah shafiq gets a big score he. I said earlier a 70 plus score from someone in our middle order puts us in a decent position

Does anyone feel such excitements in a game of 40 overs or even 100?

The fun of this game is in it's story-line, how each session moves & shifts the balance of the game, not in batting or even bowling.

Plenty of time left still. Need to punish Moeen Alis bad balls and keep rotating the strike is the key here.

Let's hope you're right.

Generally when looking at great careers, one can point out the series/year/moment where the player went from goodness to greatness.

This tour of England could be the series for Shafiq.

Just like Asad did at New Lands from 34/4 ...........

How many times have you got it back from YK? Last time I can recall the Dubai Test - if you can't praise him at least don't insult him. We are watching Test cricket here, not ODI & he is one of the greats of the game. All that you say won't match if you start analysing his stats - have you checked Javed or Zaheer's stats before talking harsh on YK?

eng are more disciplined when they bowl, they wont try much keep it the same. Broad is one dimentional..

But it works..

Nice shot from Shafiq. Babar and Shafiq batting together in full flow would be brilliant to watch

Sadly, nowadays in Test cricket these games are few and far between. Most teams are home bullies and can barely compete outside their comfort zones.

Having said that, when these kind of games do come around, there's nothing better to watch.

For Test lovers, Test is the most exciting game, especially at places like Eng, Aus, UAE, Ind, SA

I'm not interested in his stats, and I'm sure his stats have been helped greatly but not playing in England for 10 years and in Australia for 12 years and counting.

Stats wise he might look a great of the game, but I don't buy it and I have explained the reasons already.

30 overs to go and 2 hours 12 mins left in the day. We might see full 90 overs today if change of innings doesn't happen

I like how Younus is batting he is letting Shafiq play his strokes and he is just helping him as support as their is plenty of time left . Well thought out plan by YK.

Hahaha Rambo. Sky's 3rd man commentary position is for excellent analysis on technique and plans of the players. What does Ramiz do - "Younis has played lots of dots".

A test series against PAK would be interesting for us even though we are ranked higher ATM it will be a tough affair :yk

The commentators are convinced Wahab is coming in 8. I don't think he will. Yasir or Amir should.

How do you know - he missed 8 Tests there at his prime - could have stood at 10K runs & 38 Test hundred by now. I actually feel sorry that, you had the chance to put such excuses, for Buffoon Butt.

Oh no. Younis goes to the spinner of all people. Why was one of the best players of spin in the world trying to cut that??

You have watched enough cricket. Do you honestly think Younis would have scored runs in England in 2010, given how friendly the bowling conditions were?

Sarfraz needs to get at least 40 here. No two ways about it. Sarfraz and Asad make good partners

Poor shot for YK, didn't expect him to do it against Moeen; but things happen. Sarfu has to support Asad now.
