Will never have faith in Rahat even if he takes 20 wickets in a match.

Timid body language and doesn't look threatening even when he's taking wickets.
 
Why is rahat allowing Bairstow to settle in, he should have got him out by now. why isn't he getting people out
 
If our tail could bat like woakes we could be in much better situation....but still match is in our hand.

15 runs of 55 deliveries. The partnership is slow and not steady, what Pakistan needs at this monent.

Bairstow seems so keep and calm...and Rahat not making him dancing around rather he(bairstow) is being so cautious .

Yup, if the roles were reversed then this thread would be full of posts crying about a lack of intent and the slow run rate putting pressure on the batsmen.

Pakistan need to keep doing exactly what they're doing right now.

England have shut up shop here. Onus is on Pakistan to keep tightening the screws. 128 runs is a lot of runs to work with when you have 4 wickets to get rid of.

We have won Tests without him and he cannot change our fortunes in Limited Overs, because there are bigger problems.

Amir looks too nervous to perform. May be the fear factor of 5 years back still preventing him to express against England. He should perform better after relatively better show in Bangladesh, India and New Zealand.

Those 4 wickets contain Woakes, Board, Bearstaw who are two time better than our top and middle order combined.
 
England need close to a miracle to win from here but you never know as this match has ebbed and flowed.

1 more wicket should seal it for Pak.

Only need to get one of Woakes and Bairstow to open up the other end. Broad is barely better than a number eleven.

1. Yasir
0.6 Rahat
0.3 Wahab
0.1 Amir

Most of these whiners are copycats and not genuine; that's the problem.

As for the match. The only issue I see is that even right now we are not showing enough discipline from the other end and leaking runs.

So in a passage of play where we don't take wickets There is effectively a double whammy as there isn't a lid on runs

Though it seems England are now
Going into their shell as well which plays well for us

I have 60k posts, don't remember them all. I remember agreeing on ocassions through, but I don't have to jump on or off any bandwagon because you should recall that I insisted on many ocassions that Amir needs to earn the plaudits and respect with his performance, and he should not be handed greatness on a platter.

People simply assumed that he will pick up from when he left when he returns and make too many excuses for his performance.

Thicker skins are required here.

Both . Aamir was expected to perform like he did 6 years ago with very little FC cricket. I'm not sure he can ever be thst bowler again either . Time will tell. But I don't think he has bowled so badly that he has to be replaced so quickly . Give him atleast two series and then see what to make of it.

so who should replace amir in 2nd test. clearly he isnt performing according to likes of you. so in your opinion who should replace him as according to you he hasn't earned his recall

Agree, his place is not under any threat but not a good performance as far as level of penetration is concerned
 
Pakistan need at least 1 wicket in first 3 overs to believe that can win this match. Right now both batsmen are too set and are not bothered by any bowler

He has earned his recall when you look at the options, but he hasn't earned the right to be called world class. It's not 2010 anymore.

He has to play all four Tests because the alternatives won't be an improvement.
 
England were too stupid in thinking they could whack their way into chasing this down.

You have to grind it out to take out a target. Painful way is the only way. If you go too fast, you will most likely lose.

Now with 6 down, if England choose to grind out, it still presents an opportunity for Pakistan to regroup and plan. There is more tension but the game doesn't slip away fast so more time to plan and execute.

That's why chasing is hard in tests.
