What's new

England v Pakistan | 2nd T20I | Leeds | 18th July, 2021 | England innings

I can type 100 reasons why we should not pick players off the street in this modern age of cricket but that's one of the first.

Rauf knows Livingstone loves that yorker or half volley length and plays that golf shot straight down the ground well and he still kept feeding him that length where he got dispatched for 3-4 sixes, is someone going to be held accountable for this? This is riddiculous at the international level

We need to select more cricketers from domestic circuit. Players should be developed. They should have sessions on personality development

Waqar has not improved Rauf one bit.

Issue for me is persistence with him in the playing XI when he has clearly looked off colour since PSL. Not saying to completely discard him but, why give opportunity to Wasim Jr or Arshad Iqbal when he is clearly struggling for from.

Agreed. 4 off our 5 bowlers today havent played much domestic cricket except maybe T20s. So whatever they have is developed at international level which isnt ideal.

But that's the only length Rauf can bowl decently.....he has no control on his line and length whenever he tries something different.

He needs to go....too limited as a bowler.

Even Curran and Jordan are hitting. This is a belter

Hasnain has proved his superior intelligence over Rauf in this series by a margin. Unless Rauf is horribly out of from there is just no defence

Yes. Cricket has evolved but our methods are still old. We should treat Pakistan team like a company. Gradual growth is what I believe in.

There should be a set criteria and qualification before being selected in the international team.

Modern game requires mental toughness. We are only behind due to our mental weakness.

Imran Khan Sr doesnt make this side because the love for youngsters and pace I guess? As surely he outperformed some of the guys playing in PSL

Shows this is not the right approach from england
Having wickets in hand is crucial for a big total

We certainly do need more experience in fast bowling. All these guys are playing on potential not performance

Tom Curran in the 90s England team would've been a top allrounder for them given they had Ealham, Irani type players.

These days with England having Woakes, Stokes, Sam Curran, this guy looks worse than Luke Jongwe.

This should be a lesson for all those who were criticizing rizwan last game. That babar rizwan partnership meant we had main batsmen facing the last ball

Without atleast 15-20 four day matches, I dont think anyone should come even near the national side. Shaheen, Rauf, Hansain and Shadab dont have these many in Pak domestic circuit even combined till now

Irrespective of your skills only 4 dat matches are going to get your basics in place.

I dont mind if someone young doesnt perform well and they still want to select him but he should play these many matches before getting considered.

Brilliant acting catch by Shadab. Already saved at least 10 runs in the last couple of overs. Mamoon looking for a way to discredit the best fielder we’ve ever had.

Good comeback by Pakistan and a great opportunity to seal the series. But it all boils down to how well they can hold their nerve while chasing what is still a formidable total

Bad bowling from Afridi, why bowl around the wicket away from your natural line against a tail ender
