Come again?LOl.. Ausie Bowling nowadays are so bad than Indian trundlers.....
England would easily chase this with more than a over to spare.... Backing Root and Morgan to get a 100+
We can't all be blessed in all facetsAbout 34 overs in I felt a big defeat coming and I stick by that.
Morgan's decision to bowl first was unbelievable.

Absolute gold"Plenty of Ashes spots available on both sides. Finch and Bailey are both putting reasonable arguments forward to be considered for the Aussie squad. Morgan and Bopara have a chance for England here to stake a claim."
He needs to become more consistent and string togeather a run of scores in FC/List A. England do not select players for the ODI team based on their T20 performances. Why don't England give Hales a chance in ODIs? He is doing well in T20s consistently.

Who'd you reckon James, Morgan/Bopara down under, i.e if both shine in this series?No.6 spot in Tests is wide open. Probably the most important thing about this series from an England POV.

How would a SA playing well be a consolation for England? We blatantly aren't going to win this but a KP innings would be fair consolation.

Wouldn't it just prove the English are hopeless?
Wasn't a trollYour trolling is pretty cruddy and boring. Need to go back to the drawing board and improve.
Anyway, Mikey reckons we can still win this, but I disagree with him.

Morgan should be Ok in Australia. It is high quality spin and swing that rattles him. The best we could hope for is for him to get get some runs in Aus, settle in test cricket and use that as a base to launch his career. He had nothing to fall back upon during that shocker of a series in Dubai.Morgan. It's time.
He probably would have been in there for 2010 when he was similarly in-fashion - but they wanted to give Collingwood a fitting send-off for his years of service and also for his manly performances in the face of the drubbing down under 4 years previously.

Who came through the SA system..Pietersen is an English citizen and that makes him as much English as anyone.
if you are going to fall back into ancestry to prove your point, well in that case, half of the South African team is Dutch.
Who came through the SA system..
This is international cricket not club football where you can poach players willy nilly.
In that case an Indian who has citizenship in Pakistan should be able to represent Pakistan? It doesn't matter which system he came through. The fact is that he is an English citizen and he's legally qualified to represent England.

Gotta love the British exceptionEngland do not poach players willy nilly - only those with an English parent or a British passport, of which there are a great many.
How can you represent a country you have no belonging to?Sure. I think there's a Kashmiri dude trying to break through who identifies as Indian and attracted some backlash for it.

So if you moved to England and got English citizenship would you consider yourself English or Pakistani? There is no bigger belonging than being the citizen of the country.

Fair enough if KP moved to England as a kid but he left SA for his career as an adult.
England enticed him to turn in SA...I would consider myself a Pakistani, but if I'm a cricketer and England pick me up, I would br obliged to play for them because they have given me citizenship, the license.
If I am true patriot, I would not accept the offer so in this case, blame Pietersen for not showing loyalty to SA. Don't blame England.
Gotta love the British exception![]()

It's a shame it allows you to pick from affiliates as well..You know that there is no such thing as an English passport?
He shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place! And why did he get enticed?
England used a legal process. Why blame them?
Blame the patriotism of Pietersen.
He shouldn't have been allowed to in the first place!
Rugby league has had the same issues with the Aussies poaching Kiwis to play in State of Origin the officials had to step in and change the eligibility rules to save the game some face.
You can't be picking and choosing from 3 countries!A lot of people in Ireland hold both an Irish and a British passport or are entitled to by birth. And vice-versa: many English and Scottish people have living Irish family members. The England/Ireland thing is largely a non-issue IMO.
The SA thing is more debatable.
Nothings being done and England continue to poachEngland don't make the rules. Blame the law makers.
It's a shame it allows you to pick from affiliates as well..
Pride for representing their country is something those players will never feel again, it also cheapens the value of the English jersey if you ask me.Not for the players. They benefit because they get to play for someone good.
You can't be picking and choosing from 3 countries!
How would England go if India and Pakistan teamed up, or if NZ and Australia teamed up?Yes we can. Ireland's best bowler in the recent JAMODI was English.
