Bumrah factor is a big factor between the sides. Run on the board plus Bumrah and India has clear advantage.

Europeans are just lucky the weather is awesome and people respect public infrastructure there otherwise everything is mostly old and outdated there. This ground doesn’t even have a roof yet people are simping over it. We spend far more on our grounds yet poor weather and lack of public support doesn’t bring the same results for us.

If this stadium was in subcontinent just as it is, it wouod look pathetic. But in this weather it looks pretty.

Gill & Jaiswal tons punish England toss decision​

Shubman Gill marked his debut as India captain with a century and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal added a sparkling ton of his own as England toiled after winning the toss on the opening day of the first Test.

Following the retirement of superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, India proved the future of their batting is in safe hands, while at the same time showing England what they are up against in this five-Test series.

The tourists moved to 359-3 on a sticky, oppressive day at Headingley. Jaiswal, the 23-year-old opener who destroyed England in India 18 months ago, crunched 101 and Gill elegantly stroked his way to 127 not out.

Gill's ongoing partnership with Rishabh Pant is worth 138, Pant ominously poised on 65 not out.

Ben Stokes' decision at the toss will be pored over. Despite the heat and a pitch offering no obvious encouragement for the bowlers, Gill said he also would have fielded first.

And, after making their choice, England were collectively below par with the ball, failing to exploit the swing on offer throughout the day. Stokes himself was the pick, bowling briskly for his 2-43.

This ground has a long history of teams coming from behind to win Tests and England are far from out of this one, though have left themselves vulnerable to a changing weekend weather forecast that could be perfect for India pace magician Jasprit Bumrah.

A dominant day for India, no doubt. Sublime centuries from Jaiswal and captain Gill, backed by a slick unbeaten 63, power them to 359-3. England’s seamers looked wayward, the heat relentless, and the pitch a batting dream.

Too early to call the toss decision wrong but India are in the driver’s seat.

And 42 for a wicket keeper bat was not good enough for you but you are hyping a 35 averaging middle order bat?

Not a fair analogy as kit's common knowledge that a pitch deteriorates. Very few exceptions occur where in wtc the pitch freshened up and In some other tests where its happened.

However typically it doesn't occur.

I agree with you but Pant has won us the Gabba test & because of his innings the test series in Australia in 2020-21, he can fail in next 30 test matches, still he will be part of the team.

Jaiswal has lot to prove against the swinging ball, but England are preparing flat decks.

Allah ka shukar someone understands. This is what I have been trying to reiterate for years on end.

Idk how many times I have stated the following

A) Pant and Jaiswal are solid players
B) I however do not rate them the same way people are overhyping them.

On talent alone Gill is a better player then both.

Its unfortunate everyone else has reading comprehension issues ans these 2 lunatic trolls @Devadwal and @Vikram1989 respond with

India's bowling attack looks better on paper than England who are without Mark Wood. England are terrified of preparing green pitches due to Bhumrah and Siraj.

Yea.. the point is Anderson would have done zilch in this series. It is not like they are bowling to Sachin Tendulkar. They are bowling to inexperienced players as well. Jaiswal destroyed Anderson in india after a dismissal
