Can you for once stick to the thread and respond as per that rather than engage in your usual whataboutism?
I know this is a troll thread and you are not capable of having an intelligent and serious discourse on cricket, but the only reason India are in this position in this match is because of Joe Root, who is among the top 5 greatest batsmen against spin among non-Asian teams, and not just in this era.
Considering the form that he is in, India was on the back-foot as soon as he piled up the runs in the first innings.
You can beat any team in any conditions if you score big in the first innings. Scoreboard pressure is real, and what happened on England’s last tour of India where they lost 4-0 in spite of batting first and piling up the runs was a bit of an anomaly.
Overall, England is a better than Australia in Asian conditions. If there is an Ashes in Asia, England would probably win most of the time.
Even if we compare the performances of England and Australia in UAE, we can see that England fared better.
Although they lost 5 out of 6 matches, most of the matches were very competitive and could have gone either way, and they were actually minutes away from winning the first Test in Abu Dhabi in 2015.
On the other hand, Australia were completely thrashed in 2014 and in the second Test in 2018 after drawing the first one.
As far away performances are concerned, the Indian batsmen are better against pace and bounce than late swing. That is why they also lost in New Zealand.
It also has to do with the rivalry between India and Australia, which is almost personal now. The Indian players seem to play with a different level of motivation when they are playing Australia, a team they hate losing to and it is not surprising considering the history between the two sides over the last 20 years.
All that sledging and bullying tactics of Australian players fire them up and it backfires on Australia in spectacular fashion.
