I know he doesn’t, but he can do well as an opener in Test cricket. Jennings Willa be devoured by the Australian pace battery, but Roy has the talent and the confidence to fight fire with fire.

The batch of Duke balls they're going to use this summer will be the same as last year's and they swung prodigiously. Not sure if Roy is compact or disciplined enough outside off stump but given the lack of alternatives, it's worth considering.

Saeed Ajmal was the last spinner played for Pakistan who had a List A bowling avg of under 30. Shadab just had experience of 12 list A matches while Imad avgs 35, Nawaz and Yasir avg 34 with the bowl in List A. On top of that we didnt try anybody with decent experience and avg in List A in last few years.
