AUS one was reduced to 2 so that they could play them in 5 ODIs next year to prepare for the WC

Oh.In the FTP Australia were scheduled to tour UAE twice, once for 3 tests and a couple of months later for 5 ODI'S and 1 T20.I guess they've made it into one tour now.

Dont get why need for 5 ODIs in UAE vs Aussies as "world cup prep" as conditions in UAE will be nothing like england. We have an ODI series vs England before world cup which is 5 games, so we dont need over kill in ODI games.

Maybe they might host AUS ODI in ENG like they did in 2010 as prep for the 2010 England series

I recon we will see a pretty decent surface to bat on at headingley, but conditions for 1st few days are likely to be cloudy and pretty humid which means swing bowlers will get assistance from over head conditions, so it will be about putting up decent totals and weathering through the spells with new ball.

Think Mickey will go for Fakhar, but I think Usman should be selected instead. Need a proper middle order bat to replace Babar.

Looking to go Headingley Sunday.. anyone been before and which stand would you recommend?

sounds like England are falling apart here. Here's hoping we can capitalise and cause more heartache.

The North East Stand is always excellent, you get a great view of everything (including scoreboard / TV Umpire / DRS) and pretty much all of the players as well. There is always a steady banter, atmosphere and applause, but nothing too ridiculous. It is uncovered as well so is beautiful on hot days. (I got sunburnt to a crisp once because I forgot my sun cream). For all of these reasons, it is one of the more expensive areas to sit in.

If price is an issue, the cheaper areas tend to be the Community Stand (quiet, everyone sits down, family-friendly, alcohol is banned) and the Popular Enclosure (generally a big loutish booze-up with fancy dress, standing up singing, topless men and beach balls etc). But you are getting perhaps a slightly lesser experience in the former, and a rather chaotic experience in the latter! Hence the lower prices.

I would go for either the North East Stand or the Main Stand if it’s your first time and you want a modest intro with a bit of everything.

You will enjoy it. The cricket-watching public of West Yorkshire are highly knowledgable. :)

No stokes or Bairstow maybe, guess buttler would take the gloves but who would england draft in as a batsmen if both missed out? Ballance maybe?

Wouldn't be Ballance. He's on a break due to personal reasons.

I hope England don't fall apart too much... they have to get back on their feet and inflict five-nil thrashing to the side they play next. Whichever it may be :srini

Granted that England are at a low point and are seemingly descending into further depths of losing misery but it's still England at home, I don't think Mickey Arthur will be thinking any less of them despite the demolition that Pakistan put on England in the first Test. I hope Pakistan can maintain the intensity, wouldn't even mind a more competitive contest as long as Pakistan win.

I just saw half the Pakistan team in Leeds on the my way back from the gym. Thought ill be the better person and say congratulations to them for their performance at Lords and wish them well for tomorrow... Sarfaraz just grunted at my hello and just walk past.... i mean how rude. :sarf They were just aimlessly walking around the city centre

Or has PCB told them not to talk to common folk on the street to avoid suspicion of match fixing? :ishant

Whether this is the golden era or not. I thing is for sure I can't remember being this exctied about a test match. This is by far the most exciting times for a pak fan. At least since the last 8 years.

After the emergence of new, young and exciting players another new player is going to debut tomorrow. Hope he has a great match.

Looking forward to it!

Perhaps you should have just congratulated them straight away and full of excitement instead of trying to start a small talk.

Boys being busy.

I did say well done too... but why should i be super excited? Im not pakistani. I was just being polite and atleast hoping for a friendly smile back. But shows the mentality I guess...

Well in that case no need to be excited.

Don't know why the players weren't welcoming towards you.

To them, you are a fan. They cant tell whether you are an Indian or a Pakistani, its all in your head. They would have done the same had it been me or any other Pakistani. They are probably wary of the fact that they are in Englang so shouldnt be interacting much with fans
