Can't understand how Eng are unable to find 2 batsmen that can average atleast 33-35 in Test cricket. That's all they need to supplement Root/Cook/Jonny/Stokes.

Jennings/Stoneman/Malan/Vince are far worse than perennial underachievers like Shafiq/Karunaratne. Never thought a team with quality FC setup like Eng would struggle so bad to fill top 6 batting slots

FC setup is being neglected - the County Championship has been pushed to the margins of the season with too many games in April and September when conditions are very seam friendly.

It's difficult to develop young batsmen when they're not spending the hours at the crease to hone their skills when they're up against dobblers who'll become unplayable in these conditions.
