Should be interesting.

Want Sri Lanka to win.

Sky Sports going crazy over England's recent form.

Also, I think Pakistan can go above them in a few matches, if England continue to lose.

trott is still in test mode. he can play very fast without slogging.
the wc game vs windies is proof.

i hope he is more attacking even if it means slightly less runs than usual(which are pretty massive).

If ENG loses the rest of the matches in this series, and gets whitewashed by Indians, then ENG drops below Pakistan.....

but don't hold your breathe for it....

:P

Actually, that could happen. England have always been a terrible ODI team.

Doesn't matter , we face them later in the year anyway.

Yeah, but for that to happen, we need to play really good and they have to suck.

Alaistar Cook is one of my favorite cricketer, hope he scores a century, supporting England in this match. England will win, gut feeling.

ENG will field the same team as last match, surprise to see no changes, but they must know something we don't!

ENG win the toss again, but bat this time

not taking risks this time?

:D
why is all cricket decided by who gets to bat first all of a sudden?

There's usually been advantage, but lately it's come really apparent and perhaps even more than usual

how do you suggest we decide who gets to bat/ball first?

no not disputing the system, toss is the only fair way really

It's just I've noticed it all of sudden, it's starting to get a little boring

Want to see some thrilling chasing :D

cook before 2nd odi- we fancy chasing.

cook after 2nd odi- we will bat first.

:))) :))) :))) :)))

Why is Lakmal in the side instead of Perera? Perera is an excellent ODI bowler and handy hitter

Its got alot to do with the attitude of teams that play a particular form of the game. e.g.
  1. PAK fancy themselves as a brilliant T20, decent ODI & avg test. side.
  2. ENG are a decent T20 team, avg ODI side & brilliant test side.
  3. IND are decent in T20, brilliant in ODI & tests.
  4. SA are gain brilliant in ODI/tests & decent T20 side.
In the past, before T20's arrival in 2007, you had to be a brilliant ODI/test side(like WI/OZ of yesteryears) to be world beaters(the best).
Similarly if ENG are to lay their claim to that number one tag they have to be better than most in atleast two forms of the game which they definitely are not at the moment !
There really can't be a seperate test/ODI Numero Uno & unless T20 replaces ODI cricket or substantially eats those fixtures you won't have a clear winner in that format cause its like a jackpot on most days.
BTW ENG are inconsistent to say the least if not downright poor in ODI's & you can't use that lame excuse of test cricket being the real deal cause at the end of the day its an international cricket match & if you ain't good at it then just admit your fault not look for silly excuses.

I was wondering the same thing!

I guess the guy just wanted to get this rant out of his system!

What a lovely day. Sri Lanka doing well here, field placing for Cook is good.

Tott gone! He should stick to Tests.

I hate KP, one of the finer SA imports following on the heels of Tony Geig & Allan Lamb.

In the end it boils down to the players on the field & if they ain't interested you'll see alot of one sided games like 6-1 thrashing home/away by OZ 5-0 to IND & other similar scorelines in the recent past heck even their dismal showing in the ODI world Cup shows they weren't really looking past anything but that little urn, by not picking some of their in form Ashes players for the tournament shows how serious they are for this format of the game !
