Buttler and Rooty are in great form and will only get better, plus theres clouderson, steven Finn as bowlers.

I think this will be the time england will finally win a World Cup

Just get ready to bump this thread folks :murali

So they are in great from right now and somehow you think its a guarantee they will be carrying the same form after four years?

Anyways today match changes nothing,England cricket has actually hit a new low, they have dropped match winners like Bopara and opted for imports like Rashid and Moeen. Pretty sad to see.

Lmao people and their delusions
There are still 4 years till the cup fool anything can happen

Lol? How do you call rashid and moen imports while not calling bopara? All are in the same boat everyone gets selected on merit it isnt South Africa there where they have a quota for an amount of colour players

Not sure if people are trolling or if they are just stupid - 1 good performance and "we have a new superstar" or "X team will the tournament"

Im not trolling, speaking in all seriousyness

2011 World Cup - India won, it was played in indian soil

2015 World Cup- Kangaroos won, it was played on kangaroo soil

2019 World Cup - PLAYED IN ENGLAND

Theres a pattern here and i think england since being an advanced cricketing team will utilise home advantage, they are in oid rebuilding phase and will look to better team, they already have 2 world class batsmen in buttler and root who will be playing infront of home crowds

While we are here i will also predict finalists:

England Vs Ausstralia in an ashes themed finals in lords

England will chase down 320- with buttler and root centuries white steven Finn will pick up a fiver. Warner's double century will go down the drain

they are not
neither was bopara

they are all born in England.

KP, Balance etc are called imports because they were born and grew up abroad

racism alert!!

Kp is product of Enhlish cricket as he was nobody in SA and developed only after he came to England when the age of 13. He is English as far as I m concerned

very sad to see people calling adil rashid and moeen ali imports.. disgracefu indeed.. both born and brought up in the UK they got all the right to represent England

no he came to england at the age of 18-19 and the rule is that if u represent any county for 5years ur eligible to play for england

and if I'm not wrong his mom is english

no he isn't

he even played for South African domestic sides lmao

I think Strauss came to Eng when he was a kid though

I still remember after the 2011 WC, people said England would win the thing in 2015, based on their performance in the India series that followed :))

If warner scores a double aus will get at least 375. Lol

You guys are right.. He moved to eng after 17

Nothing like a knee-jerk reaction.

No offence but this thread sucks. They are no chance at all, like in every other World Cup since the eighties. Only made 1992 final thanks to South Africa getting robbed anyway.

You just watch, england will crush Kangaroos in the final then i will quote you and bump this thread

Cyu in 4 years bud

Let them win one knockout to start with. Last time Eng won a knockout in WC was in 1992.

If England win the world cup in 2019 I'll become a vegetarian for the rest of my life, and anyone who knows me personally will know i cannot live without eating meat.

Thats an extremly bold statement.. Let me remind you that it is being played in England, there is a 1/8 chance you will become a vegetarian

You will probably just chicken out from your statement when English Lions lift the cup.

People are taking a random prediction thread too seriously...

Anyway England can win the World Cup because their current team is not an indicator of their team in 4 years. For all we know they could have formed the world's best ODI team by then.

I know Pakistan are ranked #9, but you have to count them as one of the contenders of the world cup. So it will be 9 teams counting Pakistan. :))

Im excluding bangladesh because they still sux in my eyes, their sub continental flat track batting will be exposed in England and their spinners will be useless. Pakistan will be 1-8 as they have experience and players for England plus mo amir will be there to take revenge on the english authorities that wrong doed him, if he oversteps however, its all over.

come on guys, there is more chance of either one of root or butler to have a melt down and retire before than, like threscothik and steve harrmison

I hope they manage to upset the mighty Bangladesh in the final

Who are the kangaroos?

Last I checked the Australian cricket team wasn't some sort of joke national team that needed a nickname.

Dear OP There is more chance of me becoming the Next American President than England winning next ODI world cup!

Calm yourself bro.

Aus, India, SA, NZ are still lightyears ahead of Eng in LOIs.

Please don't post again.

Sorry everybody, I didn't know Adil/Moeen were born in England, I just assumed they were Pakistani born considering the amount of support they got here. My bad.

Had it not been for the partnership between Buttler and Rashid, England could have been all out for under 250 yesterday.

Sure the signs from this one match are promising, but there's still 4 years until the next WC!

However, I have to say I do think this type of England batting line up does seem like it could have the potential to score big in ODIs. Still not convinced by the bowling though. I feel Rashid is a good option in the long run, but I have a fear that if he has 2 or 3 poor games consecutively, he'll be discarded and left on the sidelines again, and a 'safer' spin bowling option picked in his place.

Their hyper-excitement during that series was nauseous.

That would be typical. Engalnd have never favoured leggies. They pick a containing offie to give the seamers a blow.

Really doubt that he'd get dropped unless he does terribly for a decent period of time. Trevor Bayliss loves bowlers who can spin it both ways (and genuine pace bowlers) in limited overs cricket. He has pretty much built his IPL side on those two things. Personally, I think that this England ODI side (without Anderson, Broad, Bell, etc) has the potential as a top side everywhere in the world.

I'd also expect Finn and Tymal Mills (depending on his health) to get a long run in the side under Bayliss.

But what made you call Bopara a match winner? He's anything but a matchwinner!

Are all the other top nations opting out of the 2019 WC? if so then england might win it ;)

That is encouraging to read.

Anderson should not play ODIs again - they have to aim for WC 2019 now.

Bell won't get back in. His style is five years out of date and he's too old now.

I think Broad still has time though, he's only 28 and will be 32 at the next WC so he should be in the plans. But they may keep him wrapped up for tests from now on.

People really downplaying England's chances here, they're playing in their home grounds they will be successful, will only need a few more games to win, also dont forget that asian sides generally do bad in England so count them out

Who won CT held in England?

India says Hi.

WC 2015 convinced me that England, NZ and RSA will never win a 50 overs WC! Call it a superstition or whatever!

I don't see England getting anywhere close to win 2019 WC. It will be 1 of India, Australia or New Zealand

England might win in 2019 provided Buttler and Root don't retire off depression by then.

Meh, The same Bangladesh who beat England in the Knockout just months ago?

England win it or not is not the real deal. Your stupidity to decide the winner even before a single ball is bowled, is astonishing.

The level of trolling is just insane.

Because it's at home we might do better than usual - and that's not saying much!

Semi-finals are just about a possibility.

Haters will go silent when england clean sweeps New Zealand when england win World Cup expect a mod to delete my thread

Why would a mod delete your thread?

There's no reason to be tin-foiled-hat'esque. Mind you it may go in the "classic" thread section, if it all goes belly up.
