What a joke this was.

Chasing 32 runs, and you end up losing 3 wickets in the process. 2 fell before 10 runs were even scored.

The Misbah joke probably continues where he comes to rescue at 24/3

With just 2 sixes he showed how you chase off these simple runs

He rescued Pakistan from a position of needing 10 runs with 7 wickets in hand.

Lol

I am gonna miss his batting. Those awesome forward defensives. The way he says "No" to running singles. The  while captaining.

And of course the Misbah style six.

I wonder what the odds were on Pakistan winning with consecutive sixes?

Well done Misbah!

Proving again and again and again that without Misbah, Pakistan have no chance to stop a collapse. Heck, we even had one on the cards just right now. Yet again, he answers all critics with his bat.

The victory wouldn't have been as fun without Misbah coming on to bat and hitting those typical Misbah sixes.

:salute

Lol

With the way wickets were coming down (and given Pakistan's history & current form) even a target of 32 was starting to look mammoth. Misbah most definitely, yet again, saved us from an embarrassing collapse.

Lol still laughing at those consecutive sixes. Completely out of the blue.

What a way to finish a match.

He's become quite famous for it now. Not the first time he's won it for Pakistan with a six. But yes, given the situation we were in and with a collapse on the cards, those 2 sixes were icing on the cake given Misbah's performance in the first innings.

Collapse on the card with 8 runs needed LMAO

Bhai - what world are you living in? With the ducklord and Sarfraz coming in, a couple more wickets could've actually led Pakistan to get bowled out.

We would have won with 8 runs required even if Amir and Yasir were at the crease. Way to overblow a situation.

Well done Misbah!

I think you missed out what i was pointing to here.

Giving out 3 wickets for 24 runs should had not happened.

THis is a serious matter for Pakistan. Had this been a 130 target then what?

The match was already won whether Misbah had come or not.

But to lose 3 wickets to 24 runs is a serious matter of concerns.

Our batsmen went very rash, and had this been 100 something chase, Pakistan could had bottled it.

If that's the case then why did you say 'Pakistan needed Misbahs guidance'. Just another Misbah riding thread lol.

Misbah showed the right approach towards the target. Fearless batting.:misbah3

never did i said that.

re-read the post.

Under stand the context.

I'm being critical of the way we approached this mere 32 runs

I think Pak were far frm a collapse lol

Issue is, Ali has come in from the cold and will take some time to get back into form and Shehzad is so heavily pressured by the media and fans that every game might be his last. Add to that a clown as the coach and Shehzad can't be in the right place mentality. I'm really rooting for him in the next match.

? Pressure? You seriously call that pressure?

I think you need to look at the way Misbah was targeted by the media during his captaincy career.

People who area laughing right now would had been crying if this team was going after a chase of 100ish

I don't think collapse is the issue its the matter of losing 3 wickets when chasing 32 runs - it's the poor execution and mentality of making everything look harder than it is

exactly

And its game like these that shows where we lack.

problem is a win will overlook them, but at a bigger stage where we would lose it, then everyone is targeting each other

Stop being moronic and look at your damn title. If you claim otherwise then demand a title change, it's highly misleading.

That's why Misbah gets the plaudits. He handled it very well but we also have to remember he was a man in his mid 30s.

Shehzad is 25, every forum laughs at him when he does bad, when he does well there is nothing to be heard. Commentators, former players, newspapers, everyone is on his back. He needs confidence. Let the boy relax, jeez. YOu all act like you are perfect in your jobs.

do bother to read the OP and understand its context, stop blaming others just because you dont understand context

the other half of the title was tongue in cheek

It happens, batsmen can get complicit in such a small chase. Thus, the argument that 'what would have happened if the target was 130' isn't a good one as the way a batsman plays depends on the target and situation.

Having said that, we have had enough collapses in the latter stage of Test matches recently to suggest there is a problem.

'Rescued'... :danish

What a thread! Its like the hen isnt giving any eggs and you pull one out of it yourself. Expected from the biggest misbah fan ever :yk

"rescued" when 7 runs were reqd. That had me in splits :))

i agree Misbah will be missed in tests though.

Lol many people know about Misbah's rescuing abilities but this was not a rescue. 7 runs needing and 7 wickets remaining, plus Misbah's guiding hand? Does hitting two sixes to win mean a guiding hand? Not hating on Misbah or anything I truly love and respect the guy.. but as others have noted, the title is misleading

Lol.

Million dollar question.

If the target was 150 would Misbah had played 2 sixes like he did now ?

No pressure situation and Misbah finished it off in style.

If it were 150 odd heck even 100 odd Misbah would have blocked the 2 balls.

What is the pressure in chasing 30 runs?

Some people trying too hard.

Pakistan would obviously collapse and lose with 10 runs to win and 7 wickets in hand if Misbah weren't there :salute

Misbah is king, no doubt about that, but this is another typical fan- boy thread with no real purpose than just to get under the skin of Misbah haters.

Agree with that lol.

Way OTT thread.

this is what i was emphasizing the other day.

We lost 3 wickets in that small chase. Everyone said its ok not a big deal.

Last night we were 7 down at the same score.
