Expectations from Babar Azam as ODI captain?

Poor in the field, reactive rather then proactive. spinners bowling well yet he decides to bring back his best mate hasan Ali to bowl garbage. cant see him improving as captain.

Babar continues to favor his friends Imam and Hasan. He is fast losing respect.

This guys is a tool and must be kicked out from the team along with his useless friends. He needs to be sent back and forced to learn the art of leading from the front. He has to learn management skills and English language so he can learn from the non-urdu sources.

and then goes to on to waste a review. Kick this guy out until he improves his brain

Is Babar Azam at liberty with reality?

I think he is. He has no sense of reality!

Did he honestly think Pakistan has all bases covered to chase 350+ under lights by winning the toss and sticking a seriously weakened side into bat on a flat deck?

Everything he does these days as captain makes me want to pull my hair out!!!

Babar should be sacked from captaincy in all three formats after Aus series.

This may sound strange but it was during the PSL that I realised that Babar just doesn't have it in him.

We made excuses for him in international cricket and his flaws were kept hidden due to the nature of pitches and the weak opposition fielded in bilateral T20s.

However during the PSL which is the most pyjama of pyjama cricket it was clear that he doesnt want to evolve as a cricket.

Surely he could have used the opportunity in a relatively easier environment to adapt and grow a power game.

Instead he rested on his laurels, making useless 50s and putting pressure on the opposition.

If he wants to be a great player he must evolve.

Many of us made fun of afridi, umar akmal etc about them not playing according to the situation and just mindlessly slogging.

Similar criticisms need to be made for Babar, he also refuses to play according to the situation and hides behind the same 'natural game' excuses that the hacks use.

Everything he says in the post match presser is opposite to what actually took place.

*Pakistan loses 3 Test series 1-0 vs Aus*

Babar - “we dominated the first two tests”.

And, now he mentions that the game was under control when him and Imam were scoring at 5 an over.

It’s not even excuses at this point, it’s blatantly lying.

Babar is a fantastic batsman and has the potential to end up as a great but he isn't the right leader for Pakistan at the moment. The question is, does he have the maturity to realise the same? Pakistan needs a strong positive leader which Babar isn't. A leader who gives excuses for every loss is never going to take the team forward. It will just make the rest of the team lethargic as they would assume everything is right.

Lead from the front with the bat today, but his captaincy in the field and use of bowlers is still weak.

Good thing that strong tactical and strategic thinking is not as important as it is in Tests. Otherwise, Babar would struggle big time. In ODIs, he can continue to perform and that should be sufficient for him as a leader.

In Tests though, we need a replacement asap
