Extreme fear of house lizards!

I dislike lizards but komodo dragons are just beastly. I'd rather face a lion than that sh1t.

Looks like there are chipkalis in Lahore too. :mv

Were the bane of my existence in Pakistan along with rats, even the best taken care of places had them. The lizards were also extra scaly and when I did manage to hit them with a shoe/chappal I had to get rid of their wriggling tails as the actual lizard had run away. Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine.

There used to be a lot of lizards in my house until a couple of months ago,but there aren't any now.I have no idea why they disappeared, but I'm thankful anyway

More than lizards I hate cockroaches. I will give anything to have them disappear from the face of earth.

Just wasted half an hour getting rid of a large lizard that was intent on playing hide and seek

This is the part of Karachi I didn't miss in Egypt :yk2

You should start breeding them... With the amount of Chinese moving to Pakistan, lizards are soon going to be hot commodity :yk3

I'm not afraid of them but they are disgusting looking reptiles.

I remember when I was in school 4th grade I killed a lizard in my class. With my bare pencil. It went through it. :p

Once there was a lizard in my jeans pocket. It bumped out as I was about to wear the jeans.

I don't fear the lizard but I can't catch them barehanded. Their skin feels weird and they get easily frightened and move very quickly and you don't want their sticky skin touching your body parts. I have to take a piece of newspaper to catch them and then throw out. I fear bees more, I have been attacked by bees at least 5 times.

One thing I have noticed with all small animals like lizards, snakes and bees. If you move your hands slowly and dont frighten them with quick movement and stay confident of the animal, they don't fear much and you can then get rid of them. They kinda sense human fear I think.

By the way, they hate smell of garlic and chilly. Put garlic and chilly near your doors , windows ..cockroaches and lizards will stay away.

lemme introduce to a japanese giant hornet :)
gianthornet1.jpg

its about the size of your thumb and the sting it has is corrosive meaning it'll melt your skin- yummy

I have seen a video where a man in a protective suit was getting stung by these hornets and dancing,

the video ended with him dead...

I've heard horror stories about lizard venom. A family friend of ours was cooking tea, and just as she was about to add the tea to the boiling water on the stove, a lizard fell from the ceiling into the water.

She said the water turned a deep blue, like ink. I'm guessing she didn't add the tea to the water after that.

There have been apocryphal stories of people dying from lizard bites. I don't know if these things can bite.

This happened to my friend.... they were eating Daal with rice ( Bengalis eat Daal with more water, and with whole chilies as well sometimes in them)…

it looked like a chili in the Daal, when it turned out to be a lizard ….

Did anyone fall sick? I'm assuming they had consumed a bit of the daal before the lizard was discovered.

I've heard that from a relative too. Lizard fell into a bowl of kheer and it just dissolved.

Dissolved as in disintegrated into the Kheer? If so, the lizard should have been the least of the problems.

I actually kinda miss having house lizards living in cold climate.

Going to Pak soon, one of the things that I'm looking forward to is actually seeing them around.

Dont mind them on the walls but hate them on grounds and also falling from ceiling!
House lizard reminds me of standup comedian Sumit Anand nowadays, tune bada kaam karliya.

Say hi to Mamoon from PP family when you see him :kakmal

Seen plenty of these as I have a crack in my room which lets them in. But they mind their own business and don’t look like they will harm anybody.

No lizards in the UK, thank God as well! Doesn't sound like I'm missing out. Feel for Mammon though.

What an ordinary looking lizard . Wouldn't give him a second look. Something tells me you're just trying to irritate mamooin, miggy Bhai :D

Nah this was pretty bad - sat on my towel - was about to wipe my face when I noticed a tail!

And they are back!

huge one and I am tracking it...

I hate them with a passion. I always dread going to Pakistan in non winter months because of my fear of lizards. They are so gross and ugly.

When I was a kid, I was never afraid of lizards, but as I have gotten older, I am scared to death of them.
