Weakened teams
Managers not really interested in doing well in it
Managers making wholesale changes to starting XIs

Seems like the FA Cup has become a competition that a lot of teams don't really care about these days?

I agree. Fan's seem to have lost interest with the romance of the occasion seemingly dead. Finishing in the top four seems much more important now then winning the FA Cup.

Yes its been de-valued and following ideas may fresh up the trophy.

1) No replays - No need for extra games, usually where teams play even weaker line ups in extra game. Games should be decided on the day
2) Semi-finals played at neutral venues and not wembley, the whole novelty of getting to final for a day out at wembley has been lost, lets have semi finals again at villa park, Old trafford etc..
3) All PL teams entering 3rd round should be drawn away from home against sides from a lower division side. This is done in the german cup and i think would be good in england as well)
4) Final option would be scrap the league cup and make the FA cup the one major cup competition in england and then teams might take it more seriously.

They should get rid of replays and make it so Wembley is only played at in the final. Also the best way to give the FA Cup a boost would be that the winner gets a UCL qualifying round spot.

They are way too many fixtures in the English game. That's why there is no point of having two domestic cup competitions. Either have the league cup or the FA cup not both. And get rid of stupid replays fgs.

The riches of the premier league mean more than the FA cup. The big teams are the ones dominating the competition so is it really getting disrespected? The smaller teams just don't have the squads to compete for the fa cup and league.

Replys should be ditched, if a tie is drawn it should go straight to extra time.

Agree with those who say scrap the league cup. Most countries have one premier cup competition.

I don't blame teams for rotating because of the sheer volume of football these days. If there wasn't such a fixture overload around the winter period then you'd see stronger XIs.

Definitely agree with moving the FA Cup semi-finals back to neutral venues like Old Trafford and Villa Park.

It's the same debate every year

The most romantic it got was when Portsmouth won it

I was looking forward to a league game on the weekend , but there was an FA cup match.

We should win, we're at home and the likes of Pogba have failed in big games. It will be much closer than 4-0 though.

Ibra is key for Man Utd, not gonna be a walk in the park for Chelsea defenders, Man Utd have a lot of creativity even if Pogba does not have a great game, Pogba is improving day by day though, his passing is becoming lethal.

I think we should play Zouma, Luiz and Cahill with Dave at LWB because it will give us the extra defensive boost that will stop Ibrahimovic winning loads of aerial duels. Man Utd's defence could be exposed badly imo, Valencia will be caught up the pitch.

Mourinho is gonna unleash Ibra, Fellaini and Pogba in the box and start long balls, when that happens every PL defence struggles, most likely it's gonna happen :))

Mourinho should now how to get behind Chelsea's defence better than most but Conte has proven tactically shrewd too

Most of the big teams still left in the cup, Hoperfully huddersfield will knock Man city out in the replay and they beat Boro in next round.

i think united will be more focussed on europa league. he will never play his full team for 3 games in 7days.
unless we go to rostok and win 3-0, only then will we see uniteds first choice team against chelsea, as he will rotate in the second leg of the europa.
even then it will be tough because we play tbursday in russia and thn come game is monday. thats ok if u r 27 but for people like ibra even that is tough. and mourinho will have to put another team out on the thursday for 2nd leg

Even Huddersfield playing a second string team against Manchester City.

Absolutely ridiculous.

huddersfields are 3rd in the championship and have a chance of Automatic promotion and that quite rightly has more importance then the cup game.
