Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf are 3/5 of your bowling attack and you expect to win games

Besides Shaheen and Hasan, this bowling attack consists of nothing but filth. How do we expect to consistently restrict good teams or bowl them out with 2 good bowlers? So far Rauf and Faheem in the 2nd ODI against England have bowled terribly in favourable bowling conditions despite England losing 2 wickets early.

Why is Haris in the team when he has proven to be a brainless spray gun? Why is Shadab in the team let alone vice captain when he hasn’t done anything with the ball in 3 years? Why is Faheem in the team when he has never done anything with the ball against good teams in an ODI?

There’s so many things wrong with the team, I don’t even know where to start. But, what I do know is I could pick a better xi than Misbah and I could get better performances out of the players.

First of all, You can’t play Hassan Ali and Haris Rauf together, only one gets in the xi, and that’s Hassan Ali.

Secondly, we have a “bowling all rounder” who averages 40+ with ball and 12 with the bat, Pakistan are essentially playing with 10 men when Faheem is in the team. Faheem would struggle to get into the Bangladesh team.

Thirdly, we have a spin bowling all rounder who averages 50+ and can’t get into the team.

Fourthly, we use Hassan Ali as new ball bowler.

And last of all, we have no genuine spinner in the team.


This has to be the DUMBEST management to have ever taken control of Pakistan cricket.

, this team is playing with 2.5 bowlers ( Shaheen , Hassan Ali & 0.5 Rauf ). 0.5 Haris Raif because he can’t bowl well with new ball , Faheem Ashraf & Shadab are not wicket takers so I don’t consider them bowlers based in their current form , Nawaz & Hasnain should have been in team instead of these two, this bowling unit looks very weak .

I don't even watch cricket much for the last few years and I still said that Haris and Shadab should not be playing. Shadab has actually done ok today, but he will lose far more games than he wins.

These bowlers aren't even successful in the PSL these days, they are busted flushes all of them.

I don't think people realize how bad Faheem is in ODI's and it gets blurred by his Test performances.

Respectable Test player but in ODI's, his bowling average is 42+ and his batting average is 12.17 which wouldn't be a big deal if his SR was great as a lower order batsmen. But its a paltry 83.80.

I do believe in Shadab long-term and I know he has struggled lately and has been in/out of lineups too due to injuries but it's not really feasible to have both Shadab & Faheem in the lineup when neither are big wicket takers.

Faheem, clearly should not be playing ODI's and shouldn't really be that much of a fixture in T20 format either.

I also think overall, this team is just very inexperienced and while they want to win games, it is still a rebuilding side. Haris Rauf is interesting enough to deserve more chances before really deciding on him.

Good thread and I was thinking about this too. Two of your frontline pace bowlers are a complete hit/miss and unreliable. That's why there are enough lose deliveries to ensure there isn't any sustained pressure.

Faheem's role is line and length but he drops them short every over and gets spanked. Rauf also sprays it around. In England, under seaming conditions your mediocre bowling skills gets exposed more and that's exactly what these two have done.

Rauf and Ashraf are both T20 bowlers, 4 overs max is the best they can bowl, they’re not good enough to get in 9/10 overs and get wickets. I have no problem with Shadab personally

Not the first time i had heard players who have played under Waqar's coaching that he is just interested in the lime light and has not let go of his playing days. He ignores bowlers who are not doing well but doesn't mind sharing the lime light with a bowler in red hot form.
