Faheem Ashraf's inspid bowling can no longer be tolerated

Don't think he has much future in tests. In Test you need a bowler who can take wickets , not the line and length 128-130 kmh bowler. Can still be a useful ODI player, if works hard on his bowling and batting.

His batting is useless in odis He avges in his teens
Hes failed all this series with the bat

Hasan ali is much better as he showd today

If fahim doesnt start performing with the bat we need to look elsewhere for better all round pace bowling options in limited overs cricket because this is frankly not good enough

Maybe ammad butt needs a good run instead

Let's just say it how it is, yes he has improved and does deserve his place in the team. But if you knock him over his line and length, he has no answer. And with the bat in LO he needs time to get going. He isn't good enough to bat in the top 5/6 . He won't get a lot of time at 8 .

As I said he has earned his place in the team but I think we have slightly overhyped his improvement. Remember how low the bar was due to how poor he was .

So whats the alternatives

Muhammad wasim jnr
Amad butt
Hussain talat

To be honest faheem and hasan ali are the best bowling allrounders in pakistan

Unless there are other players that I've missed

Agree with you 100%.

Basically he is an overrated cricketer for whom Misbah and Co still trying to find a role in the team, after 4 years of international cricket.

Nevermind number 5, is he even good enough to play in ODI’s at number 8?

After this ODI series I am not convinced on Faheem’s role in the ODI team.

He doesnt take wickets when needed and certainly doesnt score runs when needed either.

To me he is blocking a spot for a quality wicket taking bowler in our ODI team.

I think hes boderline yes.but its true that he hasnt been taking much wickets and not enough runs.i would like to see another all rounder be given a chance so that fahim has to up his game.

He's always been a decent t20 bowler. If he can continue performing he can even be the 3rd seamer in India and enable Pak to have a really deep batting line up.

He is improving but he doesn't get as much recognition and praise as some other so called next big things get here. :inti

He got bashed mercilessly then everyone jumped on the bandwagon except Junaids remember lol who recognised his immense skills. :yk2

Well Babar showing faith in Faheem:

“Faheem has been in and out of the side but he has performed well recently. We have included him because of his all-round abilities and believe that his presence will strengthen the side."

I just checked the squads for Afghanistan series and Asia cup. It seems only saud is dropped whereas Faheem gets a free ride?

Why? What has this guy done to merit a place? Batting at an average of 11 and having the worst bowling economy in the current team merits you a place? First it was shan and now faheem?

Pcb shpuld really invest in abrar or zaman Khan instead of this guy, and what has saud done to merit being dropped? Being the best pakistani test batsmen and not even getting a game in the Afghanistan series merits a drop?

Two different formats.

Two different formats.
But Zaman Khan has proved he's an amazing death bowler, Abrar has proved he can spin the ball well, and Sri lanka has spinning wickets where even shadab was spinning like Shane Warne yesterday.

If their insistent on an all-rounder then take inad waseem, even if their concerned about imad's fitness, an unfit imad will still be a million times better then Faheem.

Faheem isn't suited to any format, nor test, nor odi, nor t20. He's just another Anwar Ali, aka a club Level player.

I genuinely realize that Pakistan has a shortage of fast bowling all rounders. To address this shortage, Pakistan's cricket authorities need to take a multi-pronged approach to getting some good players from the circuit. For now, I would go for Faheem Ashraf because PCB have invested a lot in him.

We are better off grooming Naseem to become a bowling all-rounder. The lad has some batting talent i think

Whilst Zaman could have been in the squad instead of Fahim however he won't get a any games.

Investing in someone who's not skilled is never gonna be a good investment, investment world in players like babar when mickey realised he was born for the no 3 role because their talented and willing to work on developing their skills.

You can give non talented players like shan masood or asif Ali 50 games and they'll never improve, because they don't have the skills in them. It's a waste of money and resources. Shan has 50+ test games under his belt and a handful of odi games, and yet investing in him achieved nothing other then him occasionally making a bazzball style 50 once in a blue moon. Faheem is a waste, including him is the equivalent of sending a 16 mam Squad to the Asia cup, not 17.

Point is Faheem shouldn't be in the squad. If naseem or shaheen are unavailable for one match, pakistan could have decided to try zaman Khan or Muhammad wasim in their place.

With faheem in, their forced to rely on only Muhammad waseem, since faheem clearly ain't winning you games.

I want Fahim to play in the third game and get spanked.

PCB is didn’t find any replacements when Razzaq retired.I know it is not easy to find fadt bowling all rounders but given the population of Pakistan PCB should have tried hard.If Pakistan can find a genuine fasting bowling all rounder it will make the team very strong.Faheem is not a quality allrounder.

He really needs to go. It is clear this experiment has failed. Why do we keep selecting half cricketers? I would us much rather have a specialist bowler here. His bowling is pathetic and will get smacked around against better batsmen. He’s a weak link, batting is also non existent, needs to go.

bro your judgment was totally wrong he has the best econ so far this game and a wicket on this flat deck

He’s pathetic cricketer even if he took 9’ wickets today wouldn’t change my view.

i am not sure if the world cup consists of minnow teams. nonetheless i would take him over agha salman this experiment is a huge failure. I stil think against good teams aamir jamal might be a good option. for me agha salman and muhammad nawaz are out of the team. Fahim asharf and aamir jamal should be part of the world cup squad. Pakistan is playing against below average teams before the world cup. ifti can throw in some spin as a backup he should work on it.

We need a better fast balling all rounder in his spot. Toothless bowling, need some raw pace, and someone who can stick around with the bat.

In current lot we have this best option, Pakistan didnt focus on developing some good all rounders after Abdul Razzak.

As much as I would prefer other options, I have to admit, Faheem bowled well today.
7 overs 1/27 at an economy of 3.85.
He also got the big wicket of Shakib Al Hasan just when him and Mushfiqur were looking dangerous
He may not be the quickest, but he bowled a good line and length, got a bit of seam movement, and has a handy bouncer.

Did his performance today change anyone's mind about him?

Faheem will be taken to cleaners by better teams.Pakistan should play Wasim jnr as the 4th seamer.Faheem is a better batsmen than Wasim but if Pakistan can bowl out teams under 250-270 it has a better chance of winning. If teams score 300+ runs then Pakistan will find it hard to chase.Having Faheem in the team will not make a big difference.

Perfect scenario for him today.

Early wickets taken by others, the opposition under pressure and looking to rebuild.

Get overs in for a few runs.

I believe Faheem performed reasonably well displaying good economy with the ball and took important wicket of shakeeb, so I think he should have been included in the match against India too.

He's not as bad as people make him out to be.

IMO if he improves his batting, he would be a really good option as his bowling isn't that bad.

His bowling is pretty predictable but bowls a tight line and length. It's not easy to hit him and is pretty useful in the middle overs to accumulate pressure.

He doesn't have to get the wickets - that can happen from the other end.

Faheem is better than Nawaz. Especially as it allows us the perfect balance and takes a tad pressure of the trio.

Ifti and Salman do Nawaz’s job good enough.

With Imad he bowls the PP overs and stays with a good RR.

Nawaz is not needed in Asian conditions can Asian teams.

Faheen Ashraf has dropped from playing 11 and now it will become so difficult for him to make a comeback in international cricket.

He had to do nothing in domestics to make a comeback. Every chance he'll make another comeback

We need an end to this, Faheem is not the player we need or want. Bits and pieces player. Rather we play a specialist bowler in his place.
