ISLAMABAD: Fawad Chaudhry has been removed from the post of information minister, in a major cabinet reshuffle.

Minister for Housing Tariq Bashir Cheema, Health Minister Amir Mehmood Kayani and Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur have also been deprived of their respective portfolios, the sources said.

They further said that Firdous Ashiq Awan has been appointed as special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on information.

The latest sackings from the federal cabinet came hours after Finance Minister Asad Umar and Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar's stepping down.

Umar announced earlier in the day that he will no longer be part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s federal cabinet.

“As part of a cabinet reshuffle PM desired that I take the energy minister portfolio instead of finance. However, I have obtained his consent to not take any cabinet position. I strongly believe imrankhanPTI is the best hope for Pakistan and inshallah will make a naya Pakistan,” he tweeted.

Umar, the former CEO of Engro, was handpicked by PM Khan as the finance minister to improve economic affairs of the country.

The resignation by the finance minister followed sacking of Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar over unsatisfactory performance, according to sources.

Looks like everyone willingly accepted another portfolio except Asad Umar

This is heartbreaking. Fawad Chaudhry was doing a stellar job as Minister of Propaganda.

JUST IN: Amir Kiyani replaced. Dr Zafarullah as Special Advisor to PM on National Health Service

Are you comparing FC with Joseph Goebbels?

Come on, FC didn’t do that much damage which Goebbels did.

Are we going toward a presidential system :13:

Not in terms of impact but in terms of job description. Fawad was our own little version and we will have to see if his replacement can fill his big shoes.

Ijaz Shah replacing Shehryar Afridi is the best decision IMO

Faisal Vawda comes to my mind...

:)))

This one cracked me up.

Such a shame this guy is for Pakistan.

Or is he?

Two weeks ago, after downing two bottles of Vodka, he claimed that Pakistan's economic woes will be over within three to four weeks. Two weeks later, Asad Umar has been sacked as Finance Minister.

Perhaps this is what we he was hinting at? Maybe he is smarter than we think.

Faisal Vawda - Nostradamus.

As simple as it can get.

He was next seen standing on the wreckage of India's MiG-21 with a Pakistani flag in his hand, as if he was the one to shoot it down with his Glock.

To be honest, Fawad Chaudhry was doing a good job - this change does not make much sense.

It is all about the merit under IK...

Check and balance.

Is this merit?

Why is Dan Bilzerian a fool? He's earned the money he has, and spends it how he wants without hurting anyone.

He's a class above all of these corrupt Pakistani officials who are free loading off of the citizens' dismay.

He’s not Muslim, so to him it is money he earned himself.

To be honest, no.

IK is doing some major blunders which he always pointed out when he was in the opposition.

First the appointment of Buzdar, then this and I also read that the new person who is in contention for getting the interior ministry has a hand in Benazir Bhutto’s murder.

For a PTI supporter, your objectivity is very commendable and I wish other PTI supporters were like you.

I think that Imran is clearly panicking. With 5 resignations in 8 months, this government is turning into a circus. He sold a dream for years and now that he is in charge, he is getting a reality check.

Whatever the reason this will raise questions and the opposition will make full use of this.

I have always supported IK, but such steps will only lead to more uncertainty in the country. How far will he go? If Asad Umar the core guy can't do it then who else?

If they keep chopping and change at one point the parliament will declare its no confidence in the cabinet.

Hopefully for Pakistan's sake these changes work out otherwise it will lead to only more chaos.

I think as a supporter, it is your responsibility to check what your party/team is doing and it is always better for the sake of improvement of the country to keep check at the government.

I consider myself as a realist and many supporters of every political party don’t have the guts to admit faults of their favorite political party.

Many of us on PP and social media admit and criticize wherever PTI is wrong but still Mamoon generalize and paint all of us like blind nooras and jiyalas.

Yes, I do agree but some posters on this forum do not admit because they watch with their own tinted-glasses and that’s why it becomes easier to generalize, atleast that’s what I think why Mamoon does so.

Yes but "some" can't be used to target the majority. There are many threads on PP where most of us PTI supporters disagreed with PTI before and after elections and it's not like those pages are disappeared from internet.

What we see in others is a reflection of ourselves.
