PML-N SENATOR FACES DIFFICULTIES IN DELIVERING SPEECH IN ENGLISH AT UN FORUM

NEW YORK: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Sabir Shah has become a source of embarrassment for Pakistan at the international forum.

According to details, Senator Sabir Shah was attending an UN-sponsored migration forum in New York, where he was to deliver a speech, but it was difficult for him to read the speech written in English.

Senator Sabir Shah was sometimes seen repeating sentences, sometimes clearing his throat, and at the end, many paragraphs were left out from the speech. The PML-N senator took double the time but still could not finish his speech.

The moderator of the session reprimanded the PML-N senator for taking too much time and irrelevant speech, he said to complete his speech in due time, more people have come.

It should be noted that five Senators from Pakistan are present in New York to participate in the International Migration Forum, including Farooq Naik, Quratulain Mari Murree, Brahmand Tangi and Mushtaq Khan.

The quadrennial International Migration Review Forum (17-20 May 2022) is being hosted by the President of the UN General Assembly. It consists of four interactive multi-stakeholder round tables, a policy dialogue, and a plenary.

It will result in an intergovernmentally agreed Progress Declaration. An informal interactive multi-stakeholder hearing, hosted by the PGA, will take place on the day immediately preceding the Forum (16 May).

He will fit right into this criminal cabal. No wonder Major has taken flight from here. Even in his worst nightmares he would never ever have thought that it would be this bad. When is Gullu Butt taking his rightful role as head of Punjab Police

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Muhammad Hanif Abbasi resigned from the post of special assistant to the prime minister on Wednesday.

According to Abbasi’s resignation letter submitted to the premier for approval, he wanted to leave the post as he was “unable to perform at present”.

However, his resignation comes almost a month after former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed filed a petition against the PML-N leader's appointment as SAPM in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Last month, Rashid, who is also the Awami Muslim League chief, challenged the appointment of Hanif Abbasi as SAPM in the IHC.

In the petition Rashid questioned the federal government’s appointment of Hanif Abbasi, stating that the office of the SAPM required the selection of “people possessing high virtues and strong moral fibre…to these important public offices.”

Subsequently, the IHC had temporarily stopped Hanif Abbasi from performing his duties as special assistant to the prime minister.

The PML-N leader was notified as a premier's special aid, with the status of federal minister, on April 27.

Religious affairs minister and JUI-F MNA Mufti Abdul Shakoor dies in Islamabad road accident

Religious Affairs Minister Mufti Abdul Shakoor died in a road accident in Islamabad on Saturday, capital police said.

Police said on Twitter that the minister’s car was “hit by a Hilux Revo” while he was travelling from Mariott towards the Secretariat Chowk.

Five people were travelling in the Hilux Revo and they, along with their vehicle, have been taken into custody, police added.

Meanwhile, the minister was shifted to Poly Clinic Hospital, but he didn’t survive the accident, the police statement said.

It is not clear yet whether the minister was travelling alone or there were other passengers in his car.

Mufti Shakoor was an MNA of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) from the erstwhile tribal areas. The JUI-F said his funeral prayers would be offered at 2pm on Sunday in Lakki Marwat.
