His anti-Hindu bigotry is self evident. We need to get rid of ppl like him from our politics.

He does come across as an uncultured blowhard. Has made derogatory comments against women in the past as well. However still not at the same level of drivel that comes from the other side of the border.

Shamefull comments to say the least but, where is kapil dev when his politicians talk rubbish about us.

I guess he’s Pakistani.

Moreover, this is shaneful. No one has right to make fun of other religions. This Guy shouldn’t only be removed but also punished

Well we only have 1 politician like him in PTI. Compared to BJP hate towards pakistan is unnumbered. So let him say what he wants but don’t disrespect someone believe and religion he should be sent notice about this.

He is a nut job. Even Fawad Chaudhry has more tact than him which is saying something.

This guy is a stain on not just PTI but also Pakistani politics.

He is only employed to give befitting reply to patwaris, but now he is no longer needed.

What an idiot this chohan guy is. First he makes fun of their religion belief and then says we have 4 million hindus in our country. How is going to justify himself when someone do approach him. As a i said both side of the borders need to behave themselves.

This is guy is tailor made for sensational news channel and media fodder. I say remove him from politics and just give him life time supply of red bull and unleash him on indian media channels for daily interview and debates. He is of their same category and will give them the type of talk they talk. That should keep him happy

Imran Khan must sack him for his comments. No 2 way about it, he just crossed all the lines, our religion doesn’t believe in spreading hate or allow targeting religion belief of others religion.

Punjab CM asks Fayyazul Chohan to tender resignation over anti-Hindu remarks

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Tuesday asked Fayyazul Hassan Chohan to tender his resignation from his post as provincial information and culture minister over his anti-Hindu remarks, sources said.

Buzdar summoned Fayyazul Hassan Chohan at the Punjab CM House and asked him to tender his resignation, sources said. "The Punjab CM sought an explanation from Chohan regarding his anti-Hindu remarks."

"There were complaints against Chohan earlier as well owing to which he was sent warnings," the sources further said.

Earlier today, Chohan apologised for his anti-Hindu remarks following severe criticism from senior members of his party's government and social media users.

Punjab minister Chohan apologises for anti-Hindu remarks, says comments were directed at Modi

The Punjab information minister said, "I was addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian armed forces and their media not the Hindu community in Pakistan."

"I apologise if my remarks hurt the Hindu community in Pakistan," Chohan continued. "My remarks were in no way directed at Pakistan's Hindu community."

Chohan further said, "I will respond befittingly to whoever looks at my nation with a dirty eye. Every last drop of my blood is for my nation."

The Punjab information minister had come under severe criticism from senior members of his party's government and social media users with #SackFayazChohan trending on Twitter for his anti-Hindu remarks while addressing a gathering on February 24.

A video had gone viral of Chohan making the remarks while responding to Indian rhetoric in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan Naeemul Haque, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and several others had slammed Chohan over his remarks.

"Absolutely condemn this. No one has the right to attack anyone else's religion. Our Hindu citizens have given sacrifices for their country," Mazari tweeted. "Our PM's msg is always of tolerance & respect & we cannot condone any form of bigotry or spread of religious hatred," she added.

Imran Khan should sack him, this is no way to talk about a community in Pakistan. Really what is the difference between a PTI leader and any backward leaders of other parties if PTI Leader uses such uncouth language against a community.

it was only a matter of time Ayesha Chaudhry was already being lined up to take over. He had a big mouth..Ayesha is way better than this trash and will deal with things properly..plus we know her personally..lol

He said that he wasn't asked to tender his resignation, he only received a censuring and was asked to keep his tongue in check.

Not sure what's the story here. He should be sacked but I think he'll manage to stay a minister.

Giving tickets to people like him shows how little credibility PTI has.

Hindus are as much Pk`s as this trash- needs to be sacked and charged with creating sectarian tensions

Fayyazul Hassan Chohan resigns as Punjab minister amid criticism over derogatory remarks

Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has resigned from his ministry, the spokesperson for Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has confirmed.

Dr Shahbaz Gill, the chief minister's spokesperson, told DawnNewsTV that Chohan tendered his resignation and it was accepted by Buzdar.

Chohan had come under intense criticism from senior members of his party's government and social media users over his recent derogatory remarks directed against the Hindu community.

The firebrand PTI leader's resignation came following reports that Prime Minister Imran Khan had himself taken notice of his remarks, although those reports were denied by the party.

Chohan held a meeting with Buzdar later in the day, according to Gill. Following the meeting, Chohan said that he was neither asked for nor has he resigned. However, the veracity of his denials were called into question later in the day when Gill confirmed that Chohan had indeed tendered his resignation.

The minister, known for his tub-thumping manner of speech, was addressing an event in Lahore on February 24 when responding to India's rhetoric in the aftermath of the Pulwama bombing, he conflated Indians with Hindus and used disparaging words for the religious community.

As a video clip of the derisive remarks went viral on Monday, Twitterati on Tuesday using the hashtag '#SackFayazChohan' asked the government to take action against Chohan and remove him from his post.

Giving tickets to people like him shows how little credibility PTI has.

Don't you feel any shame making comments like this one, while being a PMLN supporter yourself? For all we know, Rana Sanaullah and Abid Sher Ali would wipe the floor with Chohan any day of the week.

P.s: Any idea how to undermine Chohan's sacking? There's got to be a way.

I am not a PMLN supporter. I voted for PTI both in 2013 and in 2018. Since I voted for PTI, I have the right to voice my displeasure and criticise. That is still better than the so-called overseas PTI supporters on this forum who were not even allowed to vote in the election. The Election Commission did a wonderful job in reminding them of their worth.

And booting him out proves PTi is lot better than others.

The only reason PTI booted him out was because he made this statement publicly. It generated a lot of negative press and they were under pressure to act swiftly. The opposition and even India would have circulated this story and the goodwill that Imran Khan has enjoyed over the last couple of weeks would have been lost.

PTI gave tickets to these bazaari politicians because of their sharp tongue, so that they could criticise the opposition. However, they forgot that these motormouths would eventually backfire as well.

Had he made these statements behind closed doors - or if there would have been little media attention - nothing would have happen.

Two months earlier, the Swabi District Council passed a resolution that only Christians would be appointed as sweepers in Swabi hospitals, while the Muslim sweepers would be transferred to other jobs. A very clear example of religious bigotry and discrimination. The resolution was approved by PTI's Akmal Khan.

What action did PTI take against him? Was he sacked?

Well in that case, voting for a party that gives ticket to people like Fayaz Chohan, also shows how little credibility you have.

P.s: I'm not an overseas PTI supporter. Stop being a pathetic judge for once.

Obviously parties which include killers like Rana and SS have more credibility.

Firstly, PTI supporters need to clear the confusion which they have not been able to so far. Is PTI a representation of a lesser evil, or is it a representation of change and revolution?

If it is a lesser evil, then please don't talk about tabdeeli. A lesser evil can never bring change.

If it is a representation of change and revolution, then please don't give examples of what the other parties have done. A party or a person that stands for tabdeeli does not justify its/his/her mistakes by pointing fingers at others.

Chohan is renowned for his obnoxious statements and crass language. Giving him a ticket was a compromise of PTI's moral standards because he - in no shape or form - represented PTI's manifesto.

PTI had to learn the hard way, but this was coming. This is what happens when you welcome all sorts of filth in your party in your desperation to win the election.

And they have somehow made this about PTI's accountability and how no one is safe.

The PTI will evolve as it has done and will do but lets get back to your competent crooks a. Can you tell us why TTHE CROOKED AZ still leads the PPP,and Why SS and Rana are still leaders of the Nooras?

Many of pti supporters were against this guy before this thing happened. In a country where zardari and Nawaz with BeneZir butto has been in charge for good 20 to 30 years changea doe not come in months. We have to produce good politicians, which sadly has not been the case in era of the corrupt people we had but I hope PTI will find good alternative and woll evolve with passage of time.

Unlike many of the Indians, I am glad the majority of Pakistanis realize how condemnable this kind of language is. People especially associated with Parties like Jamat-e-islami have such an upbringing which I have seen myself growing up in Karachi. One can not send a good message of Islam with such a tart lingo.

I am sure if any Indian Minister made derogatory comments on Prophet Mohammed, I am sure he will resign too.

Most Indian politicians (from BJP) use nationalism as a smoke screen to take vile shots at Pakistan and sometimes against its own Muslims.

The Jingoism need to go away from India. It has taken a Monster Avatar during BJP rule.

Pretty hypocrital that a lot indians were calling pakistan out for having these type of ministers. Most indians i see on social media are VERY islamophobic. I cba looking at it so i don't even go on twitter anymore.

Good that they kicked him out but indians criticising him is just irony.

Well, it is different in case of Ind. It has a huge PR with ME countries. A politician can cause a big dent of such PR in that event. Also, Ind Muslim population ratio is a lot more vs Pak hindu population.

Well as Mamoon said in his post above it’s fruitless comparing apples with oranges. As he rightly pointed out PTI should not be compared with PMLN or PPP as those 2 parties are not the correct benchmark i.e. PTI does not need to represent less of 2 evils, it needs to represent change and transformation.

Similarly, its pointless comparing PTI to any Indian political party using the same notion as mentioned above. The benchmark of PTI are its own standards and not any other political party of Pakistan or India.

When the person making digs at PTI supports parties with looters and thieves then of course the person's legitimacy and hypocrisy will come into question, hence the comparisons.

Why did you vote for someone with such little credibility? You should've voted for someone with more credibility.

Two reasons:

(1) lack of alternatives

(2) they deserved a chance to show their worth and walk the talk. Their performance in KP was not great and they failed to live up to a lot of promises.

The BRT project in particular has been a total disaster, but it was their first run and perhaps they would learn from their mistakes.

The problem with PTI is simple - they talk about bringing change, but they want to be judged with the same lens as everyone else.

Yea, Asia Bibi will definitely agree with you.

What happened to her was thoroughly unfortunate, but while we are on the topic of Asia Bibi. She was acquitted by the court, and protected by the government. The people who protested against her release and caused unrest are all behind bars.

While in India you can lynch someone just for eating beef and the government will back you.

The problem with you is that you are desperate for the crooked people to come back. The PTI is a political party and will have individuals that make mistakes and do stupid things. So once again I challenge you to condemn, SS, Rana the Qatil and AZ and the looters of Sindh.

Some People think that Angels will come and join PTI even-though they claim to be doctors.

This is a gradual process but it is a fact that change in a society comes from the top. If a leader is strong, the rest will change too.

It's not a good sign when even prominent ministers and news analysts make such statements.

Agreed, but on the other hand, the fact that he has been forced to resign for his boorish remarks IS a good sign. Seems like Imran Khan is whipping Pakistani politics into shape at a good pace. Change is difficult to implement overnight, but we can see already that there is a more progressive momentum building in Pakistan.

Ever since Imran became PM, I see only good news coming out of Pakistan.

Hoping the same from Modi Ji in the future. Lets have a talk on the table and not on the borders as both countries have much more to worries about. E.g Poverty and bring people out of it.

A message to all government mps.. Watch your mouth. My leader will not tolerate religious descrimination and action will be swift. Learn to debate without descrimination of any religions. We should realize the sentiments of our minorities. Do not fall to their level. We need to set an example to others.

Hopefully pp patwaris will shutup now

And booting him out proves PTi is lot better than others.

Excellent to see him be forced to resign.

Ever since Imran became PM, I see only good news coming out of Pakistan.

He is back in the Punjab cabinet as the Minister of Wildlife & Forestry. Sacking him was just a drama - once the dust settled and people forgot about it, he has been given a swift return. Imran Khan and his government couldn't care less about minorities.

No matter how bad things get in India, it will always be far better than Pakistan when it comes treating minorities. A Pakistani politician/individual criticising India for mistreating minorities is the greatest example of hypocrisy and double-standards that you can find.

Shame on PTI. They have spat on the faces of the minorities yet again.

Pathetic decision.

DRsohail, you might as well tag PMLN's media team in every post of yours that bizarrely tags Mamoon. :37:

No no I am not doubting your support, I know you're a PTI supporter. I am just a bit perplexed at tagging Mamoon in every anti-PTI news knowing he has as much to add in a proper debate as a person on crack.

Such ignorance and hatred of other religions should never be tolerated. Trying to preach Islam by insulting other religions is unacceptable. Seems in hoping for great praise for his intelligence instead was rightfully forced to quit:lara. Just another hater and trouble maker ending up all humiliated.

A true hindu should not find those words derogatory. as usual the liberal kettles being hotter than the tea.
