If you want someone like 35 yr old tanvir playing for IPL, you must be trolling. He is as useless as Viney. Don’t give me this crap that CPL pays him. IPL pays millions to Unatkad. Proves nothing.

Sohail Tanvir is an underrated Pakistani T20 legend. Had all the right tools to boss the format. Was close to getting Pak captaincy too for his sharp brain and street smartness. Another case of a Pakistani talent succeeding without getting any proper support.

Binny has 6 for against Bangladesh which is still the best. What’s your point? Sometimes even part timer gets 5 for. Tanvir is still poor bowler, getting thrashed in internationals and rightly dropped by Pak team.

Tanvir was good when he played..he was pretty good for a while, and there are many like that, no point degrading him.

There would be one-season wonders always Paul comes to mind, consistency is important, and clearly many Indian pacers cut for it, but even Amir wasn't that great in PSL ,also the diff of flat pitches is there.

T20 leagues are diff category,I would rather pickup Fizz(before) over Steyn because of nature of pitches.

Im not really following the IPL but I do check the scores on cricinfo now and then especially if someone hits a big hundred or gets some wickets. I have noticed that the bowlers are getting hammered...why is this?? Also what do Indian fans think about the other Indian bowlers compared to their foreign counterparts? (I mean the bowlers who are not in the indian team)..

I haven't watched a lot of matches (just a total of 20-25 overs or so cumulative).

But it can't be a coincidence that more often than not the local bowlers are getting phaintys of a lifetime every scorecard I see on cricinfo

I am not joking but maybe you are missing many good bowling performances by Indians. It is a general trend here to bash Indian bowlers , sometimes rightly . But it is not the case of Pak fringe bowlers are world class. IPL pitches are real phattaas. Still that is not an excuse for selecting Binny and Co. You have to blame the team management as well.

It also helps the batsmen that some of the international stars have missed IPL due to injuries like Starc, Rabada and Cummins. As far as the domestic Indian bowlers go, pacers are duds. Cupboard is bare. However the spin talent is surprisingly strong.

Best spinners at the moment? I mean ones that havent played international cricket yet. Do they reflect players that could be in the national side over the next 12-18 months?

Also not sure about the IPL having the best batting talent. Gayle just hit a century but that does not indicate he is a top batsman, it just indicates how poor the bowling and pitches are. I mean Gayle has only crossed 30 once since the world t20 and never crossed 20 in any other innings.

His ODI performances have been similarly poor apart from one bright spot against the UAE.

I'm not putting down all the bowlers (Kumar and Shami are good) but there is obviously a downgrade from BBL and PSL.
