Fidel Edwards - The Most exciting bowler in the world?

This guy is amazing!

Don't understand why WI bother with ordinary bowlers like Bravo, Sammy and other bits and pieces cricketers when they can play Edwards and Best.

First time I've ever seen Umar Akmal look all at sea.

Because you have not seen him enough against quality fast bowling with the new ball.
B. Kumar also had him in this situation during 1st T20 in India.

Pace does not worry him much as he played Roach well the other day but the new ball swing does unsettle him. It is also because of the fact that there are not good new ball bowlers in our domestic cricket. Because of lack of new ball bowlers our openers struggle at international level when all of sudden they see different class altogether.

That's why our middle order batsmen do well than our openers because they get used to playing reverse swing and spin bowling at domestic level.

He was all at sea against Southee when we last toured there which included a golden duck as well and how could you forget Umar vs B Kumar?

Don't think one game is enough to prove he should be in the West Indies line up, but he bowled pretty well yesterday.

Hampshire Cricket are pleased to announce fast-bowler Fidel Edwards has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The West-Indian paceman has re-signed for the 2017 season, in what will be his third season on the south coast.

Fidel Edwards said: “I’m very pleased to return to Hampshire for a third year. The 2016 season was a real disappointment with the injury – especially after everything went so well for me the year before – so I can’t wait for the season to start to get back among the wickets again and try to help the team win.”

Known for his fiery spells with the ball, Edwards impressed in his opening campaign back in 2015, claiming 45 first-class wickets in eight matches at an average of just 20.80, including a stunning 10-wicket haul against Nottinghamshire in the last fixture of the season to help Hampshire complete the ‘Great Escape’.

The 34-year-old was also set to play an important role in the club’s 2016 campaign, but after falling awkwardly during a pre-match warm-up, Edwards suffered a broken ankle which saw him side-lined for the remainder of the year having featured in just two fixtures.

Hampshire Director of Cricket Giles White: “It’s pleasing to be able to welcome Fidel back next season. He was desperately unlucky with his injury at the start of the year and it was obviously disappointing to lose him after he performed so well for us in 2015.

“He’s worked tirelessly to get back towards full fitness since suffering the injury and we’re pleased with the progress he’s made so far. The variety that he brings to our bowling attack with his injection of pace is a real plus and he’s a great character to have in the changing room too – I know he’s looking forward to being back and it’s a great boost for everyone at the club.”
