Final ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand washed out as series ends in a 1-1 draw

Would have been a great match had it not been for the rain. Could have had an extra day to finish the match seeing the Test's don't start until a few days.

I put the scores in DWL calculator & guess what - after 7 overs, chasing 280, per score is 35-1!!!

Kiwis had one more ball at hand, so....👌

I think, it’s quite acceptable outcome considering that none of the 2 teams deserved to lose.
It was 'one' day game and pak were clearly having a better day. U play cricket to win and Pak 'deserved'

Since you asked - how PAK “clearly” had a better day?

DWL is quite accurate tool and it predicted a very even game when it was called off while the previous 2 games were equally convincing for both teams, therefore I don’t think the outcome is unfair. Couple of useless 50s by Sarfraz & Imad might have flattered you hence I read about the fluke hat-trick, but guess what - Kiwis got PAK 90/6 or so defending 266 and some of the posts in game thread there after should suggest how close the game was.

279 indeed is a decent total, but it was at Dubai & it was under light; moreover PAK was one bowler short - I don’t think the outcome was forgone conclusion as Ross & Latham were still to bat. But yes, a good score was on board for a decider, so it indeed won’t have been easy for Kiwis.

DLS score after 7 overs is no indicator especially in UAE.
even Asia cup final was played in dubai 'under lights' and we know how difficult 220 proved to be for India.

In secong game too NZ were off to a flier but ended up on 210 in 50 overs. reason?? hafeez and other spinners were economical in 'middle overs'. Imad did not even bowl many overs.

Those who have followed cricket in UAE do understand 280 was a mammoth task for NZ

I am not sure if I could equate spinners bowling with a dry ball in afternoon and bowling under light for a 3 PM start in November as same, though I do follow cricket a bit, and in UAE as well.

Anyway, it was a wash out and the series in drawn, probably only positive PAK can take is that they ended strongly rather than other way.
