A record number of Muslim candidates are running for office in this year's US mid-term elections.

Many have been motivated to run because of anti-Muslim rhetoric in the country and the travel ban US President Donald Trump imposed last year.

One such candidate is Mahmoud Mahmoud who is running for a Congress seat in New Jersey.

He is running on a platform of social justice and is one of more than 90 Muslims running for office nationwide.

"I've had a woman say you're never going to win because you are a Muslim. Are you going to get that? Sure. Are you going to get hate? Sure. But that's exactly why I'm running," said Mahmoud, who is originally from Egypt.

Many of them do convert to Christianity to satisfy the majority for the sake of career progress.They feel more accepted when they do that especially if they insult their former faith to please the right wingers. As far as I am aware Muslim's may not do what this guy in the video is. British journalist Martin Bashir is another sell out who converted to Christianity for career progress.

Egoistic ones probably. In the Arab culture it is almost a given that one son will be named after the grandfather, especially in the Gulf. One of the sons of Sheikh Mohammad of Dubai is named after his father Maktoum, same as Sheikh Khalifa is named after his grandfather, the father of Zayed etc. A worse thing happens in Western Dynasties where they name the offspring "Name" Jr or Name I, II, III etc which I personally feel is quite condescending.

Funfact - Mahmoud Mahmoud was also an Egyptian footballer during the 2000s for Zamalek. Also another famous Egyptian with similar first and last names is the comedian Ahmed Ahmed.

How else would I rebut the claim that it's fake news? What would you rather have me post as a non-"shady" sources? You call main-stream media fake news (which it is), and yet, would apparently only believe the things the so called fake news tell you? That's the only conclusion I can draw from here.

It would be very cumbersome for me to post the entire circumstantial evidence, but instead it would be very convenient for you to read up yourself if you care to learn the truth, and not deny anything that doesn't fit your political mould.

The only hard/testimonial evidence available to independent journalists who have cared to look are 1. Public school records of her brother (Ahmed Nur Elmi); 2. Interviews of her brother's 2003 class; 3. Her father's name (Nur Said Elmi Mohamed) and understanding of how Somali culture works with naming their issues; 4. Her perjuring herself in divorce proceeding from 2017, evidenced in a District Court pleading (actual document @ pjmedia), - stating she had no contact w/ her "husband" [brother] since 2011, when her social media posts show her with her "husband' in posts from 2014 and 2016.

There is obviously a LOT of denial from Omar's camp, and unless an official investing ensues, it's useless to delve into this subject.

Nonetheless, "fake news" would NOT eat their own, so don't expect mainstream media to talk about this like you suggested.
