G20 Summit in Indian Occupied Kashmir - How should Pakistan respond?

G20 in India: Biden arrives but Ukraine war looms over Delhi summit

World leaders are gathering in India ahead of a G20 summit between nations that are divided on many issues, the biggest being the war in Ukraine following Russia's invasion.

On Friday evening US President Joe Biden met his host, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the leaders pledging cooperation in a raft of areas.

However the Chinese and Russian leaders Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin will not be attending.

Despite the disagreements India has been pushing hard for members to agree a declaration - if this summit ends without one, it will be a first.

The G20 is the world's 19 biggest economies plus the European Union.

The war also loomed large over last year's G20 summit in Indonesia, but the group was able to put together a hurried declaration that noted the differences within the G20 over the war.

But positions have hardened since then - Russia and China may not agree to give such concessions and the West, led by the US, will also not accept anything less than a clear condemnation of the war.

The absence of Mr Xi and Mr Putin might make decision-making a little harder. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and China's Premier Li Qiang will represent their countries instead, but they may not have the political heft to make last-minute concessions without consulting their leaders.

Let's hope that MBS also addresses the issues of minorities, especially Muslims in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s placard at the opening of the G20 summit on Saturday referred to India as “Bharat”, raising speculation of a change of name for the South Asian nation.

As Modi declared the summit in New Delhi open on Saturday, he sat behind a table nameplate that read “Bharat”, while the G20 logo had both names - “Bharat” written in Hindi and “India” in English.

Such placards have used “India” in the past.

Speaking in Hindi, the language spoken by a majority of the population, Modi said “Bharat welcomes the delegates as the President of the G20”.

Now Turkish PM is in India as well ???? Oh this is not good for Pakistan..

You are thinking too small rotti bhai, India belongs to all of us, you've seen the news that Pakistan will soon reclaim their ancestral name which derives from the Indus. Our Turkish brother is always welcome on our territory.

Currently, we are in no position to do anything about Kashmir. To be honest I long stopped caring about it as i have made clear on another thread. Kashmiri people are on their own when it comes to fighting India. What did Pak do when India removed article 370?, nothing. We have many other problems to deal with then liberating an ungrateful people who despise Pakistan. We need to build our economy, build CPEC and rid our country from internal and external threats. Forget Kashmir the bandwagon has long moved on. Most Pakistanis do not understand that the people of IoK only support Pak as a means to enrage India not because they want a merger with us. Our Turkish friends are having dinner with Modi where as China or our so called Arab brothers ain't gonna fight for us either. In this world it is all about your own interests no matter who you are.

Yep and right after MBS goes back to Saudi, their establishment will ramble about how Pakistan should contribute its meager resources towards an Ummah brotherhood, and the clueless Pakistanis along with the corrupt Pakistan establishment will lap up that koolaid eagerly.

Disagree with that part, the corrupt Pakistan establishment will pretend to believe everything as long as their pockets are getting filled and sell it to clueless Pakistanis but now a days clueless Pakistanis do not buy it, its jus that they do not know how to stand up against the corrupt Pakistani establishment.

So true and you are right, I stand corrected. The establishment is never clueless, just corrupt (which is even worse).

We need to get rid of this nonsensical Ummah baloney that never ever existed to begin with. Never mind Iraq, Kashmir, Indian Muslims, Palestine, Syria, Yemen or Africa. We are not a country of guards who are compelled to look after other Muslim's. To develop Pakistan we there must be the "sab se pehle Pakistan" attitude. I don't know why Pak idiots like Zaid Hamid believe in this Ummah rubbish when no other Muslim community does.

They all do. Even the most secular Turkiye which banned Islamic dress has had to bow to the sentiment in recent decades. But other than that wrong statement, the gist of what you are saying is correct. Nations can't prosper with theologians in charge. Thei role should be to guide on religious matters and leave statecraft to the politicians.

Deputy PM Dar stresses upon making efforts for G20 membership

Addressing a convocation ceremony of HBS Medical and Dental College, the deputy PM said that “Things are turning around and Pakistan is not more in isolation among the comity of nations as claimed by certain critics,” he added.

He also regretted that in the past, whenever the PML-N government strived to put the country on path of progress and prosperity, some hidden hands tried to disrupt that journey.

Dar urged the healthcare professionals to stay committed to their noble profession and knowledge by undertaking the responsibility towards the needy and deserving with compassion and empathy.

The deputy prime minister said that in the healthcare sector, the professionals should accord high priority to the needs of the deserving and needy and should not forget the high values taught by Islam which emphasized upon making of efforts for the betterment of others.

Dar said that together, they could transform Pakistan into a developed and prosperous country among the comity of nations as the country had the immense capacity and the nation was resilient to overcome all challenges.

He cited that when they formed the government, the country was on the verge of default, but they took drastic steps to ensure economic turnaround.

The foreign minister expressed the confidence that the incumbent government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif would take the country to a new level of economic prosperity as envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

The deputy prime minister said that a committee had been working to address issues of medical sector, adding it would assess healthcare demand and supply in the country, ensure quality education and propose policy measures to the prime minister.

He also lauded the contributions of the private sector in imparting medical education.

He also underlined the need of making further efforts for shaping the younger minds for future challenges and said that coordination was crucial in shaping the new generation with skills.

The future of the healthcare system in Pakistan was bright, he added.

The deputy prime minister also wished success for the new medical graduates and reminded them that they were entering into a new phase of life full of challenges and opportunities.

They had chosen a noble duty and profession as under Islamic teachings ‘saving a life tantamount to saving the whole humanity’, he advised.
