Chaos erupted in London last week after a gang of Muslim youths attacked peaceful worshippers at a Hindu festival, leading to just one arrest.

The incident occurred on March 3 at an event celebrating the festival of Holi outside the Harrow Civic Centre, which lies directly opposite Harrow Central Mosque.

The event was organised by the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre (ISSC), with around 1,000 people in attendance.

However, organisers said chaos erupted just after 8.30pm when three teenagers - identified as being from the "mosque area" - turned up and switched off the event's sound system.

Shri Rajrajeshwar Guruji, founder of the ISSC, said: "They chucked the speakers on the ground and ran away. The speakers are now broken, They came from the mosque area."

He added: "Five minutes later they returned with 15 to 20 boys, some in balaclavas... they threw beers cans into the fire, threw glass bottles and hurled barriers on the ground.

"The Sikh security guard went over and they tried to harm him as well.

"They wanted to fight and we were trying to defend ourselves. It got out of control so we called the police.

The mob is said to have fled the scene after hearing police sirens approaching the area.

One of the youths was chased down and apprehended by the worshippers, who then handed him over to the police.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “A 14-year-old boy remains in police custody following an incident in Harrow.

“Police were called to reports of a disturbance at a civic centre in Station Road at around 8.50pm on Tuesday, March 3.

"Police arrived on scene within minutes and arrested the boy on suspicion of affray shortly after 9pm.

“No injuries were reported".

Very sad incident and I really hope the perpetrators are given lengthy jail sentences.

Solidarity with the Hindu community who have every right to worship in peace without being disrupted by hooligans. I hope they managed to give some of these scoundrels a beating too.

The source provided is GB News and the comments posted are also by the same racist types who would hurl beer cans at freshy Indians dancing in a public square.

I am not saying this is fake news, but we need to see a more credible source and also some context before I condemn any apparent thuggery.

Lets be honest, in threads like this no one is expecting you to condemn really. You might play the racist card and take the escape route (which you have already done).

So all good.

Calm down.

Lets first ascertain the facts and if there was any provocation from the Hindus. They're often disrespectful to muslims and work in a very snakey manner which often annoys other communities.

Something fishy about this...

"came from mosque area" and "threw beer cans into the fire". The mosque area is a residential and commercial area, it's not a private area, so could be anyone who lives in the area who didn't want noise and traffic disruption late at night. I am surprised that the council allowed an outdoor event with speakers in public space at 8.30 pm!! Noise and traffic would have been a nightmare for local residents.

8.30 pm would be in the middle of Taraveeh prayer, so everyone in the mosque would be in prayer, not out in the street. And secondly, which muslim is going out buying alcohol and that too in ramadan.

Very deliberate and ill thought out attempt to stoke tensions.... I wonder who they could be.

@Cpt. Rishwat on threads like these where his Bhai Bandhus are culprits - 'Media is racist, public is racist, OP is racist, everyone is racist. How dare they blame Balkava laden innocent future engineers & doctors'

The definition of these guys seem to very specific ie 'mosque area'.

Grail Hunter- one of the commenting members seems to give further insight into the age and also breed analytics to connect the dots. Perhaps requires scotland yard to get involved at some point.

Correct.

Wouldn't be surprised if these were done by the sanghis themselves to frame Muslims.

Needs to be investigated before we can comment on this.

An unfortunate event, I think it might just be a clash of cultures. The Muslim boys probably found the singing and dancing highly disrespectful and a disturbance to Traweeh prayers.

The only thing deliberate I can think of is booking the place for an event like this across the mosque. And that too on a weeknight. Authorities should be more conscience of cultural sentiments

“Our security guys spoke to the mosque and even the mosque is concerned and they want to know who did it so they can ban them. We have good relations with the mosque,” Rajrajeshwar Guruji said.

Saw this on an other article. Hopefully both communities can find the perpetrators of this heinous crime and maintain the good relations mentioned by Rajraj Guruji sahib.
