RAWALPINDI: The government may announce Friday as the weekly off instead of Sunday. According to sources, the government may take this decision to further strengthen business relations with the Arab countries, especially with Saudi Arab and the UAE.

It is to be noted here that Sunday is observed as the weekly off in Pakistan and Friday as weekly holiday in Arab countries due to which the business sectors of both countries get chance to work on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which extremely decreases business activities among these countries.

On the other hand, business and trade agreements of billions of dollars are to be signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and in view of this the Government of Pakistan may announce Friday as the weekly off.

This is such a ridiculous move.

Wont this affect businesses as international banks and businesses are close on Sunday worldwide.

If we aren't having any business with International banks, what does it matter for us what their opening hours are?

Also, online transactions are possible 24/7 around the clock and that's where the world has moved. So idk man.

If it's the middle Eastern countries who have bailed us out and who we're gonna be doing most our business with, then this is a fair decision

It's only those with a west is best attitude who are suck up to white supremacism and a Eurocentric view will be upset by this.

always found it funny how people who dont even live in Pakistan are always rooting for those rules that changes the lives of those living in Pakistan.

Yet, if someone talks about increasing taxes in overseas countries or having rules and laws that affect them, then they start having issues.

Iin overseas ka baas na chalain yaye hamaray per shariah bhi enforce kerwadey

You start a thread and then you are complaining about overseas pakistani sharing their views? Everyone can have their opinions even though they don’t live there.

Allah ensures for «rouzi» and one of the means could be the overseas pakistanis. I am sure you are aware of how many households and institutions are supported by overseas pakistanis?

I am seing this new trend here at PP where overseas pakistanis are critisized for their opinions, not good.

This is only the beginning. The challenge for Pakistan now is to keep both KSA and China (its two main owners) happy at the same time.

Beggars can't be choosers. The trolls are here to troll no matter what. Nooras and Jiyalas have looted the wealth.

We have to start from somewhere. What country Pakistan has been doing business with, which would cause the world to stop turning if we choose to stop working on Fridays instead of Sundays?

And who left PK with this mess, yes your competent parties. On the one hand apparently Corruption is not a problem, and when the problems caused by Corruption slap in the face you want to blame the people trying to tackle them, it's akin to blaming the fireman and not the arsonists.
