This is scorecard of an ODI match which was being played in White Clothing. These batsmen were so ahead of their times , there were no big bats, flat pitches or advent of T20 leagues. Even today such a start to an ODI innings would be considered a one off miracle.

This was on a minuscule Singapore ground and somehow Kalu managed 10 dots - he was trying to over power it and kept on missing; couple of bullet like hits went straight to fielders too quickly as well.

Interestingly, SRL actually lost that game with Saq MoM, taking 3 wickets in 5-6 balls, later Ataur Rehman cleaned the tail when asking was probably less than 2.

Jayasuriya and Kalu were the architects of modern opening batting and setting a blueprint of what was to emerge in the following decades. They had a blistering 96 WC and Manoj Prabhakar was not be seen again after their onslaught against him.

The SL opening pair, usually with Jayasuriya leading the way had many such electric starts if not quite as quick as the one in the OP.

The downfall started with the wicket of Jayasuriya, who was caught at mid off. I don't remember any rough decision against SL. Good job in taking the credit away from a miracle Pakistan win.
