Harbhajan Singh's team of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 excludes Babar Azam

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has announced his team of the tournament for the T20 World Cup and has not included Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

"I have selected my team entirely based on performances and how these players have performed in the T20 World Cup," said Harbhajan while speaking on Sportskeepa Cricket's YouTube channel.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Most Valuable Team of the Tournament; Babar Azam was named as the captain of the side.

As an opening pair, Harbhajan picked the player of the tournament David Warner and Mohammad Rizwan, who will also be keeping wickets.

Pakistan's Asif Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi were included in Harbhajan's team of the tournament whereas their arch-rivals Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah were also named in the team.

Runners up captain Kane Williamson and Kiwi pacer Trent Boult had a wonderful tournament and were unsurprisingly also selected.

Despite winning the T20 World Cup, Harbhajan only included one Aussie player in his 12-man squad.

Harbhajan is a giant of the game with 400+ test wickets and helping his team win a home series against the greatest test team of all-time. He was also prolific in winning us a WT20 knockout vs Australia in 2007, which is what our younger generation took inspiration from and started beating Aussies in World Cups, something which most team lacks compared to us.

His opinions are valuable and must be respected. He is right about not including Babar because Babar played only one good knock in this tournament vs a non minnow and that was against India. In the game vs Afghanistan, he was too slow and failed to use his brain in the final ball of the final over of Rashid Khan as he tried to replicate the Indian Damaad, Shoaib Malik by looking to hit a SIX of Rashid khan and ended up making a fool of himself.

Rest all his players are well deserved, although Jadeja doesn't deserve there. But he got it right while picking 10 other names.

Bumrah didn’t have a single good game vs a non minnow team, and yet he’s in most Indians best xi. Wicketless against Pakistan, 2 wickets vs NZ (one meaningless wicket at the end).

For a guy that’s supposed to be the leader of your bowling attack, praising him for getting 2 wickets out of 2 big games is an embarrassment. 2 meaningless wickets.

Babar azam trying to hit Rashid for a six was not a foolish thing for him to do, in fact it was smart because had he connected and got 6 runs, then more pressure would be on afghan, however by getting out which he did it still was not going to be a problem, because Asif Ali would come in next and Babar trusted his abilities, that is why Babar played that shot , or else Babar doesn't try to play those shots. Also it's a known fact Asif is big hitter so having him come in was the right thing to do.
