Why hasn't Pandya bowled yet in the match?![]()
Why hasn't Pandya bowled yet in the match?![]()
Because he is too good to get into their side obviously. He would however walk into all other sides, of course, especially Pakistan. He would be Pakistan's best batsman, bowler, WK and fielder all at the same time, and the first name on the team sheet.![]()
In odis and t20s its not a comparison, in tests it's quite close as of now but Pandya won us a match in england.
"Faheem not fit enough to tie Pandya's shoelaces"
Frankly speaking there is no comparison now because Pandya is focussing more on his batting whereas Faheem is an allrounder now. He could have played in place of Nadeem in this test but captain Kohli doesn't have much confidence in Pandya's batting in tests. So why is he even in the team? Team management will obviously prefer spin bowling allrounders in India. They should have let him spend more time with his family instead.![]()
According to some fans Pandya is yet to reach his peak. He isn't playing in this match though.![]()

I don't think Pandya will have a long test career as an allrounder. He looks like someone who would prefer shorter formats and IPL over tests.![]()
He does not get to play Tests because the All rounder spot is taken by Jadeja and Jaddu has become indispensable with his consistent performances in the past 1+ years.
And when Jadu isn't playing India went for a 3rd spinner as an all rounder , witch was completely useless rather than going to Pandya.
At this rate you don't know when he is going to play a test again.
Faheem is not ahead in tests, both are at same level, Faheem plays for a weaker team so obviously he will get more chances. In tests Faheem is way ahead in terms of numbers tbh. Plus Pandiya seems to be becoming mostly an LOI specialist batsman more in the mold of Pollard.
Faheem is building up some consistent performances in Test. His batting is completely different. His bowling is economical but needs to chip in with wickets and could increase his pace.

Pandya is working on changing his bowling action and i think you will see him bowl in this series.
BCCI has been patient with him, they know his importance and that's why he was played as a specialist and not asked to bowl.

You may be right but he himself doesn't look interested in tests. This is what he said after T20 series against Australia.
“I think I should head back home and spend some quality time with my family. I haven’t seen my child for four months, so I’d like to spend some time with family right now,” Pandya said after the third and final T20 International against Australia.
“Maybe in the future. I don’t know, maybe,” he added when asked about his Test comeback.
Earlier, asked if he aspired to stay back for the Test series starting December 17, Pandya had said, “It’s a different ball game, I think I need to be, I mean I don’t mind but at the end of the day, the call is on the management.”

The problem is more with the selectors who picked him in the test squad after he clearly behaved like some chota rockstar![]()
Really surprised at Faheem’s batting consistencies off late to be honest.^^
Add to the previous comment hopefully he adds different gears in ODI & T20 cricket and becomes a consistent performer. Maybe he could become the allrounder many in the NPC believed he could be.
" "I have spoken to Hassan Ali and my other teammates and I don't feel that I need to add more pace but my objective is to maintain my pace at the135-137kph mark and do well using that speed"" Faheem ashraf quote
And I think he is right 140+ for a test all rounder is asking for trouble in terms of workload and injuries

Now is the time Faheem needs to take a call. Is he happy to be somebody who scores a 60 and two wickets? Or is he ambitious enough to have bigger dreams like score a 100 or take 5 wickets.
For the latter he will really really need to push himself harder. And that may mean turning his life upside down. He also needs to revisit his bowling action. The current action wont allow him to add that much needed 3-4 km to his pace.
Available at his base price of Rs 10 lakh, Hardik Pandya found no buyers the first time he entered the auction in 2014. The next time he entered the auction, Mumbai Indians (MI) was the only franchise to bid for him and picked the all-rounder at his base price of Rs 10 lakh.
By the next auction, Hardik was already a capped player and his brother, Krunal Pandya, made big gains at the event as MI bought him for Rs 2 crore.
Courtesy of Pandya's power hitting in just 9 matches that he played in 2015, he drew selectors' attention and made his debut in Australia in January 2016.
He is now a regular member of Team India and his IPL salary has gone up to Rs 11 crore per year. Pandya, MI's second-choice retained player in IPL 2018 auction, has now leapfrogged none other than Sachin Tendulkar on the list of highest earners in the T20 league. With a salary of Rs 44.3 crore, he now sits at the 33rd spot.
Tendulkar, who had joined MI as an icon player in 2008, had finished his career after earning a salary of Rs 38.29 crore. Pandya was close to Tendulkar's tally last season and leapfrogged the Master Blaster after MI retained him for IPL 2021.
Since Pandya had joined MI for Rs 10 lakh, he earned the same amount in 2016 and 2017 as well. His income sky-rocketed to Rs 11 crore when there was a mega-auction in 2018.
Not just Hardik, his brother Krunal has also surpassed Tendulkar on the list. The Baroda all-rounder had first joined MI for Rs 2 crore, in 2016, and earned the same amount in 2017 as well.
In 2018, Krunal shattered past records when MI raised their Right to Match (RTM) card after Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for Rs 8.8 crore. Krunal was uncapped back then. The amount still remains to be the highest cheque drawn by an uncapped player. In total, Krunal has drawn Rs 39.2 Crore, which sees him sit ahead of the Master Blaster.
Talking of Tendulkar, he earned a salary of Rs 4.48 crore per year from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, the BCCI increased the first-choice retained player amount to 8.28 crore and Tendulkar earned this amount till 2013. He retired from IPL in 2013 and played his last game for MI in the Champions League later that year.
^^^ That is an insane amount of money for an average player like Pandya. Does he bowl in IPL? How much does Jadeja or Pujara get in IPL?![]()
He does an important job for MI and being an Indian almost irreplaceable for them.
Does he bowl for them?![]()

His bowling is nothing special anyway even when he did bowl he almost always had the highest economy rate. Its his end over hitting that very valuable in T20 cricket specially in India where grounds are small.
Are grounds small in Aus too?

Some Indian grounds are small. India has some of the biggest grounds in world cricket.
In terms of bowling, both are basically 5th bowling options, though I rate Faheem just a bit higher because he can bowl his full quota of overs as opposed to Hardik.
In terms of batting, Hardik is miles ahead in white-ball cricket. He has power, and also intelligence with how to score runs in the death.
Faheem has had more opportunities to bat in test cricket, and to his credit, he has made the most of them.
Pandya finally has some much needed role clarity in all the formats.
He is going to be a 6th bowling option in LOIs. A middle order bat who will chip in with the ball if and when needed. So the role definition is very different from Faheem.
Unlike LOIs, his test appearances are contingent on being able to bowl 10-12 overs a day. He is very much going to be a bowling AR in tests. Also, Pandya is only going to play in conditions heavily loaded in favor of seamers, or where two spinners become surplus to requirements. This is good for him because he'd play no more than 2-3 tests a year on average in places like ENG, SAF, AUS, and NZ.

But the little we have watched is good. Where as Pandya, the more he is playing the more useless he is proving to be.
"When I am in the ground, I believe nothing's impossible. I don't feel fear". Hardik Pandya
"When I walk in, I always feel I have an aura" Hardik Pandya
I mean is this guy for real? Even yesterday with his antics, it reeally feels like the guy thinks he is a great player.
Never seen someone so poor overrating his own self so much. What aura are you talking about?
What I feel, is that Shaheen and Rauf could have ball all day to you and you still can't hit them.
Not even Brian Charles Lara or Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar can say that aura line lol. He is full of himself.![]()
Hardik Pandya has a total of one FC+Test hundreds
Same aa Yasir Shah
Pandya is a nothing player. He will be fully fit for Namibia and Scotland.Pandya is a phenomenal cricketer. This thread is a joke. Faheem is not good enough to tie his shoelaces.
But I don’t see the point of playing an unfit player. Pandya is not fit at all and this is why he is not bowling and it is impacting his batting as well.
We all know what he is capable of when he’s fit - we don’t need to look beyond the T20I series in Australia earlier this year.
India needs to play Ishan Kishan at his position until Pandya regains his fitness.

They both are rubbish. Bits and pieces players. Can't believe we have 22 pages debating these nothing cricketers who even Windies have a abundance of which a much better then these two.

His bowling is as bad it can get.
I maintain the same thing, I don't know who is better (actually worst) between these two but we are lucky to have Faheem.
At least we can drop him. Pandya is so over-rated that India doesn't drop him.
The expert Mamoon see this guy as an Indian captain.
It should be disgusting to have a player who over-rates himself so much.
