He overcame the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Cavani and Lewandowski to finish as Europe's top scorer in 2017.

He may not be a one-season wonder, but has he proven himself as world-class?

He's a great finisher no doubt, but I dont think he has the skills to compare him to Ronaldo and Messi.

Yes. Scores against good teams too, not one of those players who goes missing in the big games.

He is better than Rooney. The best player England has produced since Gazza and Scholes.

No not yet. Has to do it in the Champions League against top sides to be considered as World Class. Also has to score regularly for England as well.

Kane doesn't play in the same position as Messi or Ronaldo. He should be compared with other center-forwards such as Aguero, Suarez, Lewandowski, Aubameyang et al. And in my opinion, he is right at the top.

Where Kane lacks compared to other strikers is that he is only an out and out 9. Kind of like Lukaku or Lewandowski. No other role for him on the pitch.

Cannot be in the same bracket as the now modern, multi-dimensional attackers, that can rove across the front line, as well as beat a defender one on one when positioned slightly wide.

Think that with the way modern football is going, this type of striker is likely to die out. SO Tottenham are lucky in one sense to have him. The flip side, as Spurs are finding out, is that having Kane, and building a way of playing that suits him makes it a problem when he is injured.

Difficult to find another lead the line striker that is effective enough to provide cover. United will find the same with Lukaku. Had to play a different style of football to accommodate Martial as the 9 against Everton.

Kane is a beast for Spurs in the PL but at the international level he has been pretty average and no better than most of the overhyped rubbish over the years.

Until he starts helping Spurs to win some trophies it's too soon to judge. Heck, Vardy's goals played a major part in helping Leicester City win the PL in a tight race with Spurs, and yet even a deluded Leicester City fan wouldn't classify Vardy as being world class.

Needs to win trophies to be seen as world class, he should win those trophies at Bayern

A third Bundesliga hat-trick in 10 games for Bayern Munich for Harry Kane.

That's 15 goals then in 10 league games for him.

His third hat-trick in Bayern colours puts him atop the Bundesliga scoring charts, one goal above Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy.

Harry Kane sends Bayern Munich into knockout stage - Champions League round-up

The visitors had the ball in the net just after the hour but Lucas Torreira was offside, and Bayern took the lead when Harry Kane flicked in Joshua Kimmich's free-kick with 10 minutes to go, with the goal awarded following a VAR check after initially being ruled offside.

Kane then doubled the lead with his 25th career Champions League goal, turning in Mathys Tel's cross in the 86th minute, and they needed the cushion as Cedric Bakambu scored for Galatasaray in stoppage time.

For me if Kane leads Bayern to champions league glory then he can rightly acclaim to be a great player.

Bayern have won the past 10 consecutive league titles so winning the Bundesliga is no big issue.

Harry Kane has been accused of being 'selfish', making 'everything' about him and someone who is being laughed at by 'everyone in England'.

That is the astonishing view of Manchester United icon Paul Parker, who has also stated Tottenham 'should be happy' the 30-year-old joined Bayern Munich.

The England captain has been nothing short of sensational since he swapped Spurs for Bavaria last summer in a deal worth around £100million.

His strike in Saturday's 3-2 victory against Augsburg brought his tally to 27 goals in all competitions this season - with 23 coming in the Bundesliga.

But Parker has insisted Kane, who has also notched up eight assists, only cares about himself in his quest to break Robert Lewandowski's single-season record of 41 German top-flight goals.

He also stated that the Spurs legend's trophy cabinet will remain empty - despite Bayern sitting just two points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, while they're also still competing in the Champions League.

Parker, who won five major honours at Old Trafford during the 1990s, made the savage remarks when speaking to German news outlet Wettfreunde.

He said: “As much as I'm not a big fan of Harry Kane, you have got to respect the amount of goals he is scoring.

"It's definitely impressive. The problem is that he is not good to have around. The only thing he is focusing on is beating Lewandowski's record.

"That's the only thing he cares about and then he can come back to the Premier League to take another record. He is very selfish.

He has scored 23 goals in 19 matches so far this season in the Bundesliga that is surely good enough to be considered as a world-class striker.

Only in the 2017-18 campaign did he see himself involved in more UCL goals. What a player he is!

Harry Kane ready for Euro 2024 Golden Boot battle and issues fitness update

Harry Kane is gunning for the Golden Boot as England target Euro 2024 glory.

The England captain has been an ever-reliable for the Three Lions at major competitions and ended the 2018 World Cup with the trophy for most goals.

Even at Euro 2024, where Kane has been perceived to have had a tough tournament, the 30-year-old is still just two goals away from winning the Golden Boot, having already hit the back of the net twice.

The Bayern Munich star has come in for criticism this summer but he has come out fighting, vowing to get on the scoresheet and knock Netherlands out to reach the Euro 2024 final.

Kane said: “Hopefully I’ll score a couple of goals and you’re looking at me in a totally different way.

“I’d be top goalscorer, through to a final and it’s a different perspective."

And Kane has been keen to point of some the reasons behind his low tally so far.

"I’d like to have scored more goals but the tournament has been a low scoring one for different reasons," he added.

“The pitches are part of that reason. Teams are more organised and, from a manager’s point of view, they are more structured and they make it difficult for the favourites or better teams to exploit.

“You know that you’re never as bad as you think — and you’re never as good as you think on your good days.”

Kane enjoyed a fine individual debut season at Bayern Munich where he scored 44 times, though he ended the campaign without any trophies and a back injury.

However, the striker has insisted that he is as fit as ever with England set to face the Netherlands live on talkSPORT on Wednesday evening.

The former Tottenham star added: “If you look over the last couple of major tournaments, there’s always been — at some stage — question marks over my fitness or my form.

“I know everyone wants me to score three goals a game and I want to score three goals a game but it’s not always the case.

“Maybe sometimes when I don’t score, fitness is an easy one just to throw in. People say: ‘Why? Is there a reason? Is it his fitness?’

“But I felt like I had a good preparation going into it, I felt like I'm getting better and sharper as the games go along. Ultimately it’s just down to me performing.”

Captain Harry Kane will become just the 10th man to make 100 England appearances when the Three Lions face Finland in the Nations League at Wembley on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old made his debut in 2015 and is his country's all-time top scorer with 66 goals in 99 games.

Bayern Munich striker Kane will become the first person since Wayne Rooney in November 2014 to earn a 100th cap for England.

'Night belongs to him and his golden boots' - Kane's 100 caps in numbers

Captain Harry Kane became the first player to score two goals on his 100th appearance for England as he fired the Three Lions to victory over Finland in the Nations League at Wembley.

The striker scored his 67th and 68th international goals in the second half, thundering an excellent strike in off the underside of the bar, then curling in a neat finish.

He becomes just the third player to score on his 100th England appearance, after Wayne Rooney (versus Slovenia in 2014) and Bobby Charlton (against Northern Ireland in 1970).

"I don't think I was even thinking of 100 caps when I was on loan at Millwall, Norwich and Leicester," Kane said.

"From being a young age, from being doubted to go on and do what I have done - I just think that helps keep you focused and motivated in training and games.

"In general and nowadays as a footballer you're going to get criticism, you're going to have people talk about you as a player. I’ve always spoken about when things aren't going your way using that to motivate you and bring an energy and hunger inside you to go and perform.

"Come October I will be ready to go again."

'So fitting for him' - Kane's memorable night

Before kick-off, Kane was presented with a golden cap to mark the achievement, and also wore golden boots during the match.

"The night belongs to him and his golden boots, so fitting for Kane," former England defender Matthew Upson said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

"It's a match which will not live long in the memory other than that reason. Two super-sharp finishes, the first one was hit with venom and power, then the second one was a real centre-forward finish - that is the moment of the game.

"The rest of the game we can pull it apart, but it belongs to Harry Kane."

But while it became a night to remember for Kane, a few days ago he was not even sure he would be there.

"There was a late change to mark Harry Kane’s 100th appearance for his country," BBC Radio 5 Live commentator Ian Dennis said.

"When I spoke with the England captain at the team hotel on Friday in Dublin he told me they were looking to celebrate his landmark occasion in October. The reason was because he wasn’t sure at the time he would start the game against Finland.

"As a result it meant 'a lot of this has been last minute' according to Kane. His family were still in Munich on Monday but travelled on the day of the game - his wife Kate and three of their four children.

"However, the occasion was too much for Louie, only three, who was in tears in the tunnel leaving daughters Ivy and Vivienne to act as mascots alongside their dad."

Kane joins illustrious list

The Bayern Munich striker is the first person since Wayne Rooney in November 2014 to earn a 100th cap for England.

Rooney went on to earn 120 caps, putting him second on the all-time appearance list behind former goalkeeper Peter Shilton (125).

The others to have surpassed the century of appearances are David Beckham (115), Steven Gerrard (114), Bobby Moore (108), Ashley Cole (107), Bobby Charlton (106), Frank Lampard (106) and Billy Wright (105).

"When you look at the list [of players with 100 caps] it is a list of some our greatest players," Kane said.

"I'm sure when I'm retired I'll look back on this with immense pride."

Kane said he will next target reaching 100 goals after making his 100th England appearance.

"I've done around 15, 16, 17 caps a year whereas a normal year would be 10," he added.

"The goals were similar. I felt I was on 30 goals and then I went to 50 and then 60.

"It is definitely there and definitely possible. I feel like I am in a good place and these are good targets to try to reach.

"Some people may see them as unrealistic but I would rather go for something unrealistic and not quite make it rather than be comfortable just saying I will be happy with 70 or 80 goals."

A debut goal after 79 seconds to get the ball rolling

It all started for Kane with a goal just 79 seconds into his debut.

Starting on the bench in a Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania in March 2015, a 21-year-old Kane came on with the Three Lions 3-0 up and headed in his first goal for his country.

Since then he has scored 48 more goals than any other England player. He has also provided more assists than any other player in that time with 17.

Of his 100 caps, 29 have come at major tournaments for England (11 at the World Cup, 18 at the Euros), more than any other player.

As well as being England's record scorer, he also has the most goals for England at major tournaments, with 15.

Kane has scored five hat-tricks for England - against Panama, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Albania and San Marino. Only Jimmy Greaves has scored more with six.

Scoring success under Southgate

His 100 caps have come under four different managers. He made his debut with Roy Hodgson as boss and played 16 times for him, scoring five goals.

Kane played in Sam Allardyce’s only game in 2016 before making 81 appearances and scoring 61 goals under Gareth Southgate.

He then started on Saturday in Lee Carsley’s first game in charge against the Republic of Ireland.

Asked about what has been the most difficult thing to be able to keep playing at the highest level, Kane told BBC Radio 5 live: "I think to be able to keep producing great numbers, keep producing great moments is probably the hardest thing to do, because there are many players who are trying to take your spot and to take your place.

"It is healthy to have that but to be able to get my 100th cap in nine years, essentially shows great consistency."

In the business end of tournaments or competitions Kane goes missing.

However, hes a very Good striker, no denying that.

Bayern Munich's Harry Kane scored four goals to become England's top scorer in Champions League or European Cup history in a demolition of Dinamo Zagreb.

Kane's fourth - his third penalty of the game - was his 33rd Champions League goal as he passed Wayne Rooney's old record of 30.

The quadruple also marked his 50th, 51st, 52nd and 53rd Bayern goals in just 50 games for the club.

Harry Kane gives one-word answer to Tottenham transfer question as Bayern star eyes reunion

Harry Kane had a swift response when asked which of his former Tottenham teammates he'd like to see join him at Bayern Munich.

Kane was quick to name South Korea international Son Heung-min as the one player he would want Bayern to target, if given the choice.

When Kane's departure to the Bundesliga was confirmed in the summer of 2023 for a £120m fee, the word 'devastated' summed up the reaction at Tottenham.

The club’s all-time top scorer explained that it was the right time to leave North London.

But his absence is certainly felt at Spurs, not only because of his own incredible contributions but also for the partnership he shared with Son.

Kane and Son played together from the 2015/16 until 2022/23 seasons, appearing on the pitch a total of 297 times as one of the north London side's best duos.

During that period, Son assisted 28 of Kane's goals, while Kane set up 26 of Son’s, making them the most prolific Premier League pairing of all time.

Spurs have since moved on, with Son now joined by new attackers Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, Richarlison, and Timo Werner.

However, if it were up to Kane, Bayern would be looking to reunite the duo.

During a recent supporters' event, Kane was asked which Tottenham player he would like to see join him at Bayern, and his answer was simple: “Sonny.”

This response has sparked speculation that Son could make the move next summer, especially with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Recently linked with Manchester United, the 32-year-old forward has contributed five goals and six assists in the Premier League this season.

He boosted his stats on Sunday afternoon as he netted one and assisted two during a dominant 5-0 win over Southampton.

In fact, during that game he broke Spurs' all-time assist record in the English top-flight, providing his 68th assist.

Son set a new record after the previous one, held by Darren Anderton, stood for 30 years.

He has become a legend at Tottenham, but in January 2025, Son will be able to negotiate with foreign clubs ahead of his contract’s expiry.

Kane's response could be tempting fate, as his former teammate's contract expires next summer amid interest from Man United and Barcelona.

Reports suggested that Son wanted to stick with the north London side to focus on finally bringing the club some silverware this season.

But with Tottenham struggling in 10th place in the league and potentially missing out on Europe, could Son move on?

Should he leave to join Kane as the England captain wishes, the forward would leave a huge hole at Spurs.

He's their fifth all-time top goalscorer while also reaching the milestone of 400 appearances for the club this year.

On top of that, he is also one of the top 20 scorers ever in the Premier League, so he would be a major loss.
