Better than faheem as a batsman and as a bowler. Slot Hasan at 9 and add Mohammad Amir into the team.

If there’s one thing about Hasan - is that he’s a warrior.

No you just need to swap their positions.
Hassan 9 and Faheem 10.
Boy is it a blessing to have guys who can bat all the way through!
If there’s one thing about Hasan - is that he’s a warrior.

He's a luxury number 9 but he should NOT be any higher than that in the default batting order.
Misbah and Waqar will add yet another blunder to their list if they think he's a number 8.
Should be batting above Nawaz, who is a tailender
Nawaz is a genuine AR who averages 37 in FC with 6 centuries. He bats higher than Hassan unless the situation requires that he doesn't.
The problem with Saturday was that Nawaz was number 6 which is way too high. Nawaz is a number 8, Hassan should be 9.
He is more of a #8 than Mohammad Nawaz or Shadab Khan ever will be in white ball cricket. His fast bat speed and powergame is essential to an otherwise weak lower order.

5. Haider
6. Faheem
7. Hassan
8. Nawaz
9.Shadab

11. Rauf/ Hasnain
He needs to work on his defence.
He’s too short to ever become a Test class bowler. Long term he will average 35 with the ball, but his economy rate will always be poor.
This means that Hasan Ali will only ever be the fourth seamer in SENA or the third quick (with two spinners at home).
That means he needs to last an hour at the crease EVERY SINGLE TIME he comes out to bat in Tests. His primary job is to come out at Number 8 and last 40 balls with the bat every time he comes out, and score 25 while the Top Seven batsman at the other end also scores 25.
If all he can do is slog then I wouldn’t touch him with a bargepole.
His job is to be part of a one hour long partnership to add 40-50 runs and ensure that whoever has just taken the sixth wicket is out of the attack before the seventh wicket falls.
Smashing 30 off 12 balls in the first innings followed by a second ball duck on the second innings is completely useless, and leaves the team without a wagging tail.
I was heartened by Hasan Ali’s QEA century, but even that was just a slogfest.
He needs to learn to defend and he needs to develop some patience. Otherwise he will just be a complete waste of space like Shahid Afridi.
Looks like Babar+Rizwan opening combo is here to stay now.

Honestly, Hassan Ali should be played as a bowling all rounder, that would mean we won’t have to play Faheem Ashraf, who’s in the team as an all rounder.
This would also allow us to play an extra seamer, someone who can takeover Hasan Ali’s spot as a bowler.
Our bowling attack could look like this for ODI’s in SENA:
1. Sharjeel Khan
2. Fakhar Zaman
3. Babar Azam
4. Mohammad Hafeez
5. Mohammad Rizwan
6. Imad Wasim
7. Hassan Ali
8. Wahab Riaz
9. Shahnawaz Dahani/Mohammad Amir
10. Shaheen Afridi
11. Usman Qadir
I really can’t think of a stronger Pakistan xi, and with Hassan Ali playing as an all rounder it balances the team out. We have 6 bowling options (4 pacers, 1 specialist spinner, 1 part time spinner), and we bat down to 8.
Lmao where did wahab come from? And ive been saying this for 2 years now hassan isa solid bat and should be the sole allrounder over faheem in the team.
Wahab is like 40, his time is done.
With Wahab Riaz in the team, our lower order batting will be even stronger. Hassan and Wahab have the ability to build a 50-80 run partnership. Wahab Riaz can reverse the ball, is there any other bowler in Pakistan that can do it who isn’t already in my xi?
If we have a stronger lower order it means our top order can play with a lot more freedom.
Who do you think should be in for Wahab?
Odi and reverse swing?
Wahab will give you 1 good performance in 4 matches if your lucky
Every team needs a bowler who can bowl 90mph+, Pakistan has only 2 players who can take Wahab’s spot, that’s Hasnain and Rauf. Neither can bat, so our lower order batting will be weaker. Both get smashed all around the park, just like Wahab, but at least Wahab has some variations.
I think we should be focusing more on the batting and less on the bowling, Hassan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Shahnawaz Dahani are all capable of bowling an opposition out, we won’t be heavily reliant on Wahab. Playing Wahab in the team will strengthen our batting, playing Hasnain or Rauf instead will make our tail longer. Whatever amount of runs Wahab leaks with the ball he can easily get back 50% of those with the bat.
Hasan Ali clearly seems a better hitter than Shadab and Faheem. His S/R is extraordinary. So isn't Pak wasting him by batting him so low?
