So now the regional T20 tournament is also based on drafts and you have this absolutely ridiculous situation where Misbah is playing for a Karachi team.

Typical PCB. They used the draft for PSL and it somewhat worked and now we have this freaking draft for every damn tournament.

We had it for the national One day Cup and now we will have it for the t20 team

Why even have regions??

There's no doubt a regional rivalry adds extra spice to a sporting occasion. Look at derbies in football.

I'd love to see something like that in Pakistan domestic cricket, but with drafts you can't have local players for local teams making that derby atmosphere hard to create.

Yes for over a decade they built sort of a brand. For eg Panthers, Stallions and Dolphins have genuine support and fans. Now they're gone on a whim lol

Yeah I can understand if they're doing it for the PSL as its based on franchises and overseas players - but they should keep the regional T20 as it is.

I don't want to sound all Trump-ish, but I want to see Lahorites play for Lahore, Karachiites for Karachi, Peshawaris for Peshawar etc so that the competition feels legit.

Fans will have no loyalty to the teams due to constant drafts and players always moving around but lets be real.

PCB does not give two hoots about brand loyalty - most fans anyway will cheer for all the teams or the "winning" team or sometimes the team with their favorite player ahmed) They will make money regardless and I doubt the players care either.

Well despite the draft, most people still seem to be playing for their own region at least in the Karachi teams. Just look at Karachi whites, 13 out of the 15 are Karachites, 2 players being from another region isn't that big of an issue.

IMOIf they are going to continue with drafts than they should have a law that limits the number of players you can select outside of your region, that would ensure regional rivalries are established .

Opposed it since the beginning i.e from Pakistan Cup. Posters here were going crazy over it.

Many good players are left out due to draft system. It serves no purpose for regions to play players of other regions and rivalries are also affected.

PCB messed this tournament big time. Two strong teams Sialkot and Faisalabad aren't playing.

PCB guys are out of ideas and use the same process for everything . India doesn't go for draft system for the domestic T20 Cup between regions and they have auction for IPL. It's simple as that.
