Heat being turned up on Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir

WTH?

He has played all 4 tests in England, 3 in the UAE, 2 in NZ, and 3 in Australia. That is 12 tests no-stop in the last 12 months. Has not missed an ODI or T20 series since his return. Played entire PSL. And you think he can't bowl enough without getting injured? He has actually bowled more overs per tests than any other fast bowler in tests in the last 12 months.

As I was saying, Amir is the sort of bowler who bowls faster than his body can handle, resulting in frequent breakdowns.

Left the field limping in the middle of an over.

Amir is a great bowler for short spells. He was the prime reason in my opinion that Pakistan beat India in the CT final. However, he is not built sturdy like other fast bowlers, for example Yadav, Wahab or countless Australians. Hence he cannot deliver long spells in Tests. It makes sense for him to curtail Tests to optimize his cricketing career. The same is true for Mustafizz.

There's no heat because there's very little accountability in Pakistani cricket anymore. They can keep under-performing for years, they'll still be there or thereabouts.

I said "he cannot deliver long spells in Tests". Your link is data for Tests/ODIs/T20Is.

The correct link for Tests only is:

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...6;spanval1=span;template=results;type=bowling

Thanks for the data, yes I was partly wrong in saying "he cannot deliver long spells in Tests". I should have said "he is less effective when he delivers long spells in Tests". He is generally ineffective in Tests compared to the other top bowlers with an average of 37.25 and a S/R of 80.7.

As work is taking up more of my time, my visits to PP are becoming rare.

Okay, I hope you have stats to back your original claim in your next visit.

Wahab is the definition of a fluke bowler, and it appears that Amir doesn’t have the heart for Test cricket at this point.

I would encourage PPers to have some more patience with Mohammad Amir.

He is a champion bowler and his best is yet to come.
