Hizbul militants release brutal video of 17-year-old informer’s ‘execution’

Militants in Kashmir have released the gruesome footage of a 17-year-old alleged informer being pumped with bullets, claiming responsibility for the execution-style killing in first such move in recent years.

The slain teen, identified as Nadeem Manzoor from Safanagri village of south Kashmir’s Shopian, was kidnapped by militants on Thursday evening from his home. Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the brutal assassination.

In an audio message, Hizbul Mujahideen’s operational commander Riyaz Naikoo owned responsibility for Manzoor’s killing. “After proper investigations by our ‘Do or Die Squad’, he was found involved in informing the forces about two militants,” Naikoo said in the audio message and warned “other informers” of similar fate.

Manzoor had been accused by the militants of informing security forces about two militants, identified as Idrees Ahmad (Chota Abrar) of Safari and Amir Amin (Abu Shoban) of Awneera, who were killed in Shopian’s Safanagri village on November 6.

In the audio message, Naikoo said the teen had confessed to tipping off the forces due to greed, but wasn’t even paid for the information. “We don’t want to kill anyone, but they (informers) are forcing us.”

While informers have being killed regularly in Kashmir by the militants but it is for the first time that they have released a video in which the gruesome act can be witnessed.

Half the times one reads summat like this you can't but wonder if someone on the side of the militants, or is familiar with them, just wanted to get thus guy killed for any number of reasons. Maybe the deceased was good looking and the girl the loser liked was going out with him. Or any number of reasons, it's not like due process and fair trials were used.

Truly barbaric. I can only hope the Kashmiris, on this forum take a long hard look at themselves and realize that there are jihadi militants who have misguided and brainwashed them into thinking that India is the enemy, when truly all India wants is to get rid of these terrorists.

True as it may seem the Kashmiris have a right to decide for themselves what they want, whether to be independent or join with Pakistan, it cannot be at India’s expense. India can not afford another Syria or Afghanistan as its neighbor which is why they do what they do.

In modern nations, people don't get to choose their country. Kashmiris have all the democratic rights that other Indians have. Those rights do not include seceding from the Union. It is better for Kashmiris that they accept the fact that they will remain Indians, and take advantage of the wonderful natural resources they are blessed with to become prosperous.

Informers anywhere in the world are usually locals, they're still viewed as traitors and considered fair game. The militants here are probably trying to scare any present or future informers.

Personally feel the popular sentiment is with Pakistan with independence being the second wanted option. Everything will get clear once a referendum happens.

On topic, everyone who has chosen a side in this conflict knows that consequences come with that. Whether it is the informers, militants or military men.

Well this is a terrorist group...but where is the outrage when Indian army executes a 17 year old or even little kids in Kashmir?

As long as kid is throwing stones, it is all justified.

Heck, the Israelis tested their killer drones on four teen/pre-teen kids when they were playing football on the beach.

Didn't see the video but sure pray that the animals (doesn't matter their race/religion/country) executing innocent kids get what's coming for them.
